    I no longer am on the pill and my boyfriend and I rely on condoms at the moment. I will not put hormones into my body anymore and the copper IUD scares me!! I’m really looking into FAM but I’m so skeptical of it. Getting pregnant is like my worst fear so I feel stuck. I’m definitely going to be purchasing that book, though. Thinking about doing sympto-thermal along with tracking my cycle with Flo. Any thoughts or advice?

      @KikiIfill 5 років тому +2

      I’m sorry I don’t have advice, never been on the pill but I’m soo scared of putting hormones in my body, my boyfriend thinks birth control is so safe because he knows a couple women that felt “fine” (who actually knows) and I know a few women who have had issues with birth control and i am pretty certain I would likely have weight gain and mood swings and I’ve recently lost 30 pounds and I don’t want to gain any of that back. I am also not ready to be pregnant but idk I think you honestly you have to trust your body. This may be naive of me but I feel really empowered by this. I’ve only read a bit of the book and have been reading/watching videos on this for a couple weeks but I trust the science. You simply can’t get pregnant a little but after you ovulate (~24 hours) even if you limit it to the the few days after you see a rise in your basal body temp for like 6 days until you’re more sure of yourself. Just slowly start tracking. I literally just started but I’m excited. I know this is likely redundant but I hope this helps 😀

      KikiIfill I just read the book! I’ve read multiple parts multiple times and been doing a lot of research as well. I just printed out the charts and I bought a thermometer so I’m going to start once I start my period. But remember the few days before you ovulate you can get pregnant too!

      Morgan snyder-adams Yea that’s true, I also have a shorter cycle so I’ll be following the first three days rule to be safe. I started right in the middle of my cycle since I was impatient but this is only my third day so not much data yet. That’s really cool that you’ll be doing paper charts, I just got an app

    I have been wondering about the difference between arousal fluid and cervical fluid?

    • @heatherbryant4197
      @heatherbryant4197 2 роки тому +4

      Great question. A few key differentiators: arousal fluid dissolves in water. Cervical fluid does not. Arousal fluid dries fairly quickly with exposure to air & friction; rub it between your fingers and see if the water evaporates. Location: arousal fluid is secreted from glands around the entrance to the vagina, so you may notice it concentrated there. Cervical fluid originates from your cervix so you may notice it much higher up, sometimes pooled up around the edges of your cervix, when you check. There are also differences in appearance and the way it stretches. Arousal secretions are clear, viscous, and kinda stretchy, so the only potential for confusion here is with EWCM that's a little more on the watery side. Fertile EWCM will often have a streak of red, pink, or brown in it, or be slightly tinged one of those colors at one end, from a small amount of bleeding that can occur when a follicle ruptures & an egg is released. Arousal fluid should always be clear (though it could potentially mix with blood if you're on your period, but that tends to be a more homogeneous mixing, not patchy or streaked). Some EWCM is clear, or cloudy or a mixture of translucent & cloudy white/clear, but it tends to form discrete globs, whereas arousal fluid can kinda spread all over the place and stick to anything. Egg-white fertile fluid will want to hold a particular shape like a long thick string. I've also noticed a lot of times a glob of EWCM will form a "Y" shape when you stretch it out, like there are 3 attachment points. This is part of why I prefer the term cervical _mucus_ to cervical _fluid._ Fertile CM especially is a lot more like mucus. The differences are largely visual in nature, so I wish people would post pictures of real cervical mucus to illustrate the differences, rather than a photo of literal egg-white or literal lotion on their fingers lol.
      I know this is an old comment, so you may have figured it out by now, but I figured a lot of other girls might have the same question, so I thought it would be good to post a reply anyway.

    I found your channel THIS morning and am now 6+ hours deep into binge watching your videos. I bought TCOYF and your recommended thermometer on Amazon and signed up for your next Chart Your Cycle class... so needless to say, I'm diving head first into FAM. I still have about 3 weeks left in my last BC pill pack but just mentally making this commitment has me feeling SO relieved and at peace already. I've been on birth control for almost 8 years and every time I've thought about getting off of it or I've gone to the doctor to discuss unfavorable side effects of the pill, I've been scared into only changing BC pill brands rather than stopping them altogether. (Even though my husband has always been supportive of me getting off hormones, I was always so hesitant to deal with the weeks/months of "detoxing" or whatever and the side effects that go along with that, and I was too scared of getting pregnant to follow through.) Now that I've been married for 3 years, feel adjusted in our new life (we moved to CA from TX about a year ago), and are about 3 years away from trying to get pregnant, I just feel like this is the perfect time to learn about my body and take the time to adjust to whatever "my normal" is. All this rambling to say, THANK YOU for making this channel. I am so grateful for your openness and your passion for empowering women with the knowledge they need to take control of their lives and bodies, in every aspect. You are appreciated and I'm looking forward to learning more from you in your class!!!

    Victoria has been amazingly helpful in answering my detailed questions via email. Recently she was on vacation and yet she answered all my questions. I am so so grateful to her for not only offering this course but being patient and detail-oriented to ensure that I understood and can follow the chart your cycle method diligently. I seriously cannot recommend her enough. I have already told all my girlfriends about her and the fact that she cares so much to make sure that you can follow the method as your birth control method means a lot. I didn't know going into it that Victoria will be so helpful patient even a year after I signed up for the course and answer all of my emails (we've a chain of 40 emails you guys 40 haha) this is serious and Victora understands that seriousness. I appreciate her thoroughness and patience beyond words! So, sign up for the course with her and do your mental and physical health a favor :)

    I'm still so worried about it. I read TCOYF and have been charting for almost a year now, but I just can't trust it. Maybe cause I'm vegan or cause I take medication for my hypothyroidism, but my cervical fluid is not consistent.i only see one small change around ovulation. Somehow it seems like it's not enough proof to actually take the risk of not using a condom even though all the signs show I'm not fertile.

    • @FemmeHead
      @FemmeHead  5 років тому +3

      Look into how to boost your cervical fluid. I found that when I'm not drinking enough water it's really hard to tell what type of fluid I have, but when I'm drinking the proper amount it's so much easier to decipher my fluid.

    • @meaganhall7502
      @meaganhall7502 4 роки тому +1

      How are you checking your fluid? Internal, external? I recommend charting internally, especially when you don’t have a lot of cervical fluid......also, you should follow the rules for your method, but you should be staying protected all throughout your follicular phase, and not having unprotected sex until ovulation has been confirmed with p+4 and ts+3, whichever comes last.

    Do condoms actually break? I broke 3 in about 10 years and it definitely could have been avoided

    Charting postpartum or for anyone, I recommend TempDrop! It’s a wearable device you wear on your upper arm. It monitors temperature through the night, also has motion sensor, so it’s perfect for new mothers or anyone who is getting inconsistent sleep. It also eliminates sleep interruption since you don’t have to wake up at the same time to get your temp.... just whenever you wake up, sync it with the app and it gives you your temp. It also sync with the new FAM app, Read Your Body.

    My only fear is how long does sperm actually live in your uterus? I'm afraid of having sex while not fertile and then ovulating early and having that sperm still in there

    • @areeba3996
      @areeba3996 2 роки тому

      If your infertile sperms can't survive after few hours. I think you really missed what it means by fertile and non fertile. Only fertile mucous can keep the sperms Alive and it's what makes you fertile not just the ovulation. Sperms need a medium to swim in to reach the egg and that fluid is fertile CM only.
