Not almost all. I was on ALL of the shows from Nov '87 - Oct. 94, as well as David Gilmour's solo shows at The Royal Festival Concert Hall in 2002 in London, and then in Paris where I sang the Doctor's part with David on"Comfortably Numb". I am also lucky enough to be included on The Endless River, the last Pink Floyd album. Which makes 4 Pink Floyd albums in total for me ("Delicate Sound Of Thunder", "The Division Bell", "PULSE", and "The Endless River"). I am extremely proud and humbled to have been honored so much by people I so deeply respect. Singing this with my sister, and re-imagining it as a duet is also a real high point for me. I love singing with her - she taught me how to sing in the first place. This is , and will always be, for Richard Wright.
I literally have goose bumps. That has never happened before while listening to the album (as great as she was). You two are a powerhouse! Just... wow.
Yes I (Lorelei) sing first. Durga sings the middle part and of course we do the end together which was her brilliant idea! You can hear us both talk about working with Pink Floyd and others in an interview we did for the Australian Pink Floyd here on UA-cam listed as "Exclusive Interview with Pink Floyd's Durga & Lorelei McBroom
Sorry for the late reply...Wow. I have seen this video several times as well as other concert videos from Pink and I want to tell you that I love hearing you sing. You both have beautiful voices.
God Almighty has surely shined his Blessings on you ladies.. I have played drums with bands most of my life. The music of Pink Floyd has always been one of my personal favorites. It's so wonderful that Gods favor has allowed you to apply his gifts around the world not only with Pink Floyd but with best tribute act playing that allows you to "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" but the best part is that you have been able to do this with Durga. Thanks again for sharing your gifts Lorellie. Bless you!
No disrespect to Clare Torrey... I love her voice too... But this is probably the best vocal performance I've heard of this. You gave the fans a genuine gift this night.
Lorelei, you and your sister did this this song proper justice.I play this over and over again and you and Durga's voices bring me piece. You made a difference. RIP Rick Wright. Thanks to both of you for your brilliant vocals. It brings me peace. Thank you.
I must have watched dozens of videos for Great Gig in the Sky and I still get chills every time. decades of pleasure. I remember when it came out... Thank you so much...
So, I sat down at my keyboard to play this tonight and put this on to jam to. I didn't make it far before I just quit playing and sat there listening to Great Gig like I'd never heard it. I was paralyzed, hypnotized and mesmerized. Unreal, man. Just unreal. I love you ladies!
Thank you for your praise! It is very challenging to sing, but emotion behind the notes helps. The song is about dying. First part is about fighting and denying it. The second part is about accepting it, and the third part is surrendering to it and in grace uplifting your soul. Rachel was sick in Venice and did the best she could with a bad throat. Thankfully she did much better in Versailles on the Delicate Sound of Thunder video.
Lorelei McBroom is a powerful and amazing singer who really brings it like no one else can. Both singers are so dynamic as they deliver more than just a song but a feeling. Their flawless quality is simply outstanding.
Watching these two sisters feed off each other is amazing!! You can see their love for each other and the passion they have for this song. They are amazing to see together!! So cute!! They are beautiful, their voices are beautiful and their sisterhood is amazing to see in a song!! Go girls!!!
there's nothing wrong about crying listenig to this, I have that feeling all the time, i've never cried though... same feeling with high hopes and confortably numb, this is just awesome.
Lindo!! Bravo!! Bravíssimo!! Em qualquer lugar do mundo pink Floyd é mágico e essas vozes femininas são demais . Show 👏👏👏 Tem algum brasileiro aiii 🤔 Gaúcho de Canoas - RS
The pleasure is all mine, Lorelei. I can't believe it- a message of thanks from one of my favourite singers last week and the birth of my first grandchild Zachariah Cole, 2 days ago. What a wonderful world :) xxx
Wow! What a beautiful job the McBroom sisters did on this great gig! I've also seen the Pink Floyd growing up, with the McBroom sisters and Rachel Furry, I believe! The greatest of memories! They did such a great job on this song, it bright me tears!, as did the girls in Aussie Floyd, who we just seen in Milwaukee, Wi. In October 2014, Plus, my friend and I got to meet the great Lorelei McBroom after the show for pictures, autographs, and great conversion! It sure made for one heck of a spectacular evening! Great job McBroom sisters! Hope to see more of you two beautiful ladies working together in near future! Shine on!
I saw these two sing it with the REAL Pink Floyd in 1988. I was just 17 years old, and that gig is a memory I'll never ever forget. Not seen any of the travelling PF tribute bands live yet, as I was always worried that after seeing the real deal, it would be a poor second best. However, I decided to find out... and I'm seeing the Aussie Floyd show in July at Jodrell Bank... an outdoor concert celebrating DSOTM's 40th anniversary. And my favourite band ever, Hawkwind, will be supporting them. :)
I saw Durga, Rachel and Margaret at Wembley, Aug 5 1988 and you, Durga and Margaret at London Docklands arena in September 1989 and again with Sam Brown in July 1990 at Knebworth and you were absolutely wonderful. Oh, and Pink Floyd were there as well :-) XXXX
Rachel Fury and Durga sounded so awesome during that tour. especially how Rachel would harmonize on the first few bars with Durga. Special memories indeed. Philly 1988
perhaps not as good as clare torry, but the best version i've heard so far. funny, but even clare torry herself couldn't quite duplicate what she did in 1973!
i am looking forward to hearing you play in Halifax on Oct 30th as i have see Aussie at every venue they played here and having you two will sweeten the time .excellent job ..
Lovely. Every impression these super talented women voice is absolutely, LOVELY! When women sing like that....armies fall. A round for you two! Thank you!
wow so beautiful ...so many are now doing this but i have to say this is the best version yet that really moved me if you feel it in your heart you know it has to be good and you both are awesome!!!! i have played this over and over.....blessings of love and peace to you both ~~~
Their voices are so beautiful that it makes tears roll down my face!
