Should be called the house of books 📚 so many i wonder if they read them all you very brave going around this one i shore i could smell it from the other side of the world from the outside it didn't look to bad lol but what a surprise when you went in great find Brandon.
"The roof is falling down a little bit" 😆 0:19 They say hoarding is a mental illness but what if if it's books neatly stored on shelves, I know they didn't read them all (not enough time in a life to do it and take showers too 😉), even had Pinocchio at 17:57. The roof had to have been bad when they left or was sabotaged. Thanks for the tour Brandon and do be careful on those long time water saturated floors! 🤠👍👍👍👍 I counted 8 portable electric heaters (2 plugged into the same recepticle 😳).
Awesome explore mate, Hey Brandon there was a upside down keyboard a Casio next to the couch looked like a decent one. Geez B be careful walking through this place its very sketchy. looks like a awesome time capsule, stuff everywhere. Plenty of cool books B and even some hangers for you (Guten Aben) German friend cheers.
Wow! What a shame some books etc couldn’t be salvaged before rot descended on this once nice big house. I hate waste also. I’m an avid reader and a book collector and it breaks my heart to see them rotting away. How did the place become such a mess I wonder. Nice property was probably once their refuge from the crazy world. You really should wear a mask in there. Between the black mold the circulating dust from animal droppings and other rotted things you don’t want circulating in your lungs. I appreciate seeing places like this but please don’t risk your health. Thanks Brandon for this cool explore. Be well and safe.
That's one of the worst roofing failures I've seen, what a mess. With all that damage I expected to see lots of black mold but I didn't notice any until you got to the basement. Wonder who's paying for the power?
I don't understand how people walk away with all there belongings in the house place is right falling down power and damp water is not safe at all you are brave to walk around in that place Brandon
I think we can assume that a woman of Dutch origin who was born in 66 lived there, however interestingly there's little evidence that anybody else did, neither a husband nor a family, especially surprising it is because the house is so big. Some are not clearly visible but basically all of the clothes that are could be women's clothes I think. And I'm pretty sure she was actually teaching German, the first German book I spotted was at 5:47 "Wie Geht's?" which means "How are you doing?" and is a basic German language course. There are many more German books visible later for which to read your German must be pretty good. I don't think that German is spoken anywhere in the Netherlands but Dutch and German are very close and it is not too difficult for the speaker of one language to learn the other. Therefore it makes sense she teaches German as there would not be many jobs for teaching Dutch in Canada I think. Furthermore it would be very plausible too that she might even be a native speaker if her mom or dad had been German. In general it isn't too surprising that a teacher has a whole private library, is it? However this is another case that lets me wonder what happened. With her born in 66 means that either something has happened to her or she is living elsewhere now. It almost makes me think that she might not have returned from a visit at home in Europe for whatever reason. Maybe she is alive but unable to return to Canada and is still paying the bills from abroad, probably not knowing at all what state the house is in now.
I like when you said " think thin" when you were trying to go into that one room with the door stuck lol, this place is so nasty, yuk, looks like someone at one time was trying to save the ceilings with the buckets/bins/garbage cans collecting water then the blown in insulation which is every where once the roof/ceiling totally gave way to the elements. crazy how the hydro is still on with that one light still working giving off the appearance that some one is home at night lol. makes you wonder what happened to the owners its like they went on holidays left someone else to check on their home and never returned.
So cool, maybe with all the books and markers someone was an illustrator or was practising to be. I hear you when you say it's so sad to see the demise of such a wealth of material. Art shared is always a gift.
Maybe the homeowner was a writer. I agree with you Brandon, I hate wasted food and destroyed books! I wish you'd take care of your health and wear a mask in these moldy, stinky places. I think we could near you just fine behind a mask. The 3 fridges were surprising. I can't understand why the power is still on! Who's paying the bill? Rock on Brandon ❤❤✌😎
Whoa Nelly, looks like the house threw up on itself.😢 I wonder if the residents had to go back to Europe for a family emergency or death and just didn't make it back? Lol "think skinny to get through the door"😂 Thanks for the amazing explore! Please wear a mask and stay safe.
Always crazy when the power is still on. That type of decay has a really gross funky smell. Those markers stood for me right off as well! I agree about up and leaving because there is so much left behind. It had a great late 60's modern kitchen. Brown Bombers hahahahaha. That first bath room EEEK ! Yeah that container in that room is full of water. So many books in this place, at least they read lol. I wanted one of those slimline CD players 12:36 . Love Pandas; my first stuffed toy was a panda lol. Holycow that first room on lower level. It always amazing how fast some of these places can decay! You probably should have had a mask- eek! Go to the GYM lol, I am back to walking 1.5 hours a day. I think I have had some of those books. Yikes that fridge,, they must have fled with that much food left behind. This place definitely should be razed. That was a cool hot-tub. Another awesome explore Brand ~ Keep Orange Crushing It!
This was really an insane explore Brandon. I never saw so many books besides libraries. It was sorta eerie. All the food in that fridge. What the heck happened to these people. If you ever find out you have to let us know. Creepy. Take care. Especially at places like this.
You know what gets me?? I couldn't get away with not paying my electric bill for a month, and they'd be shutting it off. Meanwhile, 20 years later....lol
I think they packed a suitcase and flew to the Netherlands, quickly, unexpectedly. And they stayed there. I was so disheartened to see those old books in the bedroom next to the bathroom so rotting away. They don’t make things like that anymore, so once they are gone, they are gone forever. As far as the house, I wonder if it was constructed cheaply, why the roof was caved in like that. I think it was built about 1960 or maybe 1970. Maybe it never received any maintenance. If it was built in 1970, it would be ready for a new roof about 1990 or 95, and maybe it didn’t get it. Once it gets a hole or a leak, decay takes over quickly. Weird situation. It was a beautiful house in a rustic, private location. What made the occupants just leave? And who is paying the electric bill and why? It is a wonder that an electrical fire hasn’t destroyed the rest, but of course it is rather damp in there-it may not burn it’s so wet! The animals of the forest have had a cozy nest for ten years-lucky them!
I think that's the first explore that made me physically ill. That is a massive and eclectic book collection. Those racks and racks of really fine color pens (one you called makeup) suggests children were encouraged to read and express themselves in art. There were a lot of children's book and art in nearly every room. That multivolume set of the Mahabharata downstairs was lovely to see and likely quite expensive.
What a great time capsule! Such a shame all those books destroyed. I love books too. Don’t read digital. Like to feel the book in my hand. You really went the extra mile with this one regarding the danger factor. Thanks again for sharing son. ❤Stay safe!
I've seen auto payments for a while more rhan 6 mos, less than a year., The utility companies noticed the meters weren't moving enough for an occupant. Also eventually one's account runs dry. Once the bank discovers the customer is deceased, the account is frozen.
@@annarchy665 Sometimes people have automatic payments deposited into their accounts as well. I know it can happen but perhaps there is another unknown reason in this case.
Absolutely incredible. I remember watching a different video on this place about a year ago. Explored at night. More things were still working, some rooms weren't as bad. I'm wondering if heavy snow caved the roof in - well, it sure totaled the house and everything inside. Sad to see many once-fine items destroyed. Someday an electrical fire will finish the job.
Yes, I've seen couple winters came on this house because other explorers did explore the house. First time I saw video of this house during the pandemic. Now almost 3 years from the first time I saw this house.
Another great video sir. Why do most of these homes there that you film why do the owners leave so much stuff in the homes and by the time you film them the stuff is no good due to ceiling falling in and water getting everywhere? Some of the stuff I see was salvageable at some point.

A house with power still on is quite odd to find after 10 years of the place being abandoned.
It is weird. The only reason I can think of is the owners left, but shut the main breaker. People came in later and turned it back on.
If someone dies with no next of kin, they might have automatic withdrawals/payments that have never been cancelled.

I'm wondering if heavy snow caved the roof in - well, it sure totaled the house and everything inside. Sad to see many once-fine items destroyed. Someday an electrical fire will finish the job.
That’s probably why the roof seems equally caved in throughout. Maybe it was cheaply built or not built to handle snow.
