I love this episode. Gordie's actor did a flawless job of moving his lips while Nick Bakay spoke, and he did a flawless job with all the facial expressions and everything. 1:38 My favorite part 2:32 Gordie wasn't born when Kennedy was elected. Libby is not too smart for failing to realize that something is suspicious about this.
To clarify: When an actor's voice is replaced like this, they first film him doing the dialogue as himself--- his own voice. Then later on, the voice actor (who records the dubbing dialogue in a studio ... hence the lack of natural sounds around his dialogue) matches the words to the mouth on the screen; he watches the scene as he speaks. Looped/dubbed dialogue is recorded after video of the episode is shot and in the can, and then that audio replaces the on-screen actor's real voice. It is not as if Nick was somewhere on set and speaking during the shooting of these scenes, and the actor playing Gordie (Curtis Andersen) was perfectly miming to it. Agreed ... Curtis Andersen was excellent in this episode playing Gordie. Plus, the references like Kennedy are funny because they tell the audience that Salem has been around longer than a teenager has.
@@Zorklis Ha ha, exactly. The dubbing method gives everyone more control ... no mistakes are made on the day the episode is shot (at least for the scenes where Gordie speaks, LOL). If the actor playing Gordie had to lip sync to Salem's dialogue as this was being filmed, there would be plenty of errors and slip-ups by the young actor--- even if he does know all the cat's lines. And since this show was never taped in front of a studio audience (a "magical" show can't be, because of all the technical stuff and because of all the times the actors have to freeze still while something is moved or added on set, and there's the whole _cat puppet team_ stuff to consider too), a lot of stuff can be done in post production.

One of the tie-in books was actually a sequel to this episode, in which Salem actually physically turns into a teenage boy. I kind of wish we got to see that.
They have two episodes of Sabrina's Secret Life where Salem does this too...and they implied he was way worse than we thought. The first time it was just so Maritza had a date and to help Sabs get Harvey. The second time? Oh....Salem had enemies in the villains circle too and he looked like Sabs brother this time instead of retaining the dark hair (because he's more like her sassy brother than her house cat at this point).
