How much for a big box Earthbound? Bought it at Toy R US on a whim not knowing anything about it at the time. Its used but well loved.
It's crazy what people will spend their money on 🤣😂🤣. There are two types of spenders , those that get their money the easy way and those that work hard for it and spend it foolishly.
There was no story on worst nightmare the nightmare for me was your ad. I paid UA-cam for no ads but yet you plugged a ad n any ways.
I have a mint sealed Earthbound, big box. Its opened to ensure the contents were there, but everything is new. Guide is still sealed. It's my most valuable piece.
I'm just watching this because I like to learn what people's worst nightmares are. They vary greatly, that's for sure.
Well, he said game collectors' worst nightmare.
I assume it’s that a game collector would want to buy everything.
What was the nightmare I missed it
I missed the part where he had a reason to shout "we're trying to film man !" at a car leaving a parking lot.
@@residentevilclone He won’t haggle!!!
Man i struggle badly watching this stuff, knowing i had so much of it in pristine condition and complete (such as the earthbound big box). It's not the money. It's just memories. Went through a phase in life where i was planning, for lack of expression, to end it. So i sold all i had. Good channel and best of luck, but i'll have to cheer you on from afar. :)
same here except sold all my nintendo systems and pokemon cards for drugs
My mother gave all my stuff to my sisters kids and im kind of annoyed she did considering I don't even talk to my sister or her kids (they are now adults)
My Transformer toy collection, all my old gaming consoles and dozens and dozens of games (Some of them rare). My nephews broke 1/2 of the transformers and they wound up in a landfill.
@@mech0p good investment
I love stage 2. I’ve been a customer there since 2010 or so. I really recommend the store because Phil is one of the most sincere and passionate game store peers I’ve ever met.
better go there before this guy buys everything and puts it in his store at a mark up
Another great episode from Retro Rick. Always bringing the audience some great experiences and great games. I appreciate the grind and footage from the grind. Solid pickups. Man that guy had some gold in the collection that he let go.
Pay full prize just once rick just once.
It’s no nightmare when I see how valuable Sculptor’s Cut has become ;)
Got mine directly from my local Blockbuster for about $25 20+ years ago, back when they were selling off their N64 rental stock to make room for newer games. Best gaming purchase I’ve ever made.
Yeah I took a NES copy of Snow Bros to a video game store and sold it to em for like 1$ worst video game transaction i ever made..
Our local video shop started selling their old Sega Megadrive games for 3 for $10. My friend would get like $20 from his mum, buy 3 games for 10 and some lunch, then we'll play those games and he would give me to me since I had the Sega and he had like N64. Eventually, I ended up with a shoe box full of random games of various quality including games like Fantasy Star and Shinning force, Cyborg Justice etc.
Then another friend 'burrowed" my console power cabler when I was not home and broke the console or whatnot and I think I ended up giving him the games.
A bit later on, I also had a Nintendo 64 and probably a half dozen games in which I gave to another friend as a farewell gift when I moved house. I sort of regret that bit as that would probably cost like AU$300-$400.
In my lifetime I probably owned like 6 to 10 consoles in which I either sold or gave away but I guess I still got my 18 year old Steam account.
Man I wished I knew they did stuff like that when I was a a kid because while my friends and I enjoyed Clayfighter 63 1/3, I really liked the lineup for Sculptor's Cut more and never knew that was the only place to get it from.
What was the "worst nightmare"?
Getting pulled in by a clickbait title i guess.
@@shawndempsey2280 I guess so.
The owner seemed excited to get that earthbound game,I bought it twice used between 2000 and 2002 for $3 each time once at a pawn shop and again at a failing video store.I sold them on eBay and Amazon in 2003 for around $60-$70 each I even had one of the strategy guides they were sold with and got $45 for that and thought I was doing good had no idea they would be worth 5X as much today.
50x more worth today bro
We've all been there, past wins are still wins, don't let the prospect of a potential missed future sour them.
@@NachozManneeded to hear this. preciate you fr
I came across your channel a few days ago and really lile it. I am 57 years old and use to go to the arcades when they were popular and I use to have several different gaming consoles over the years. If you don't already know about Joe's Classic Arcades in Rock Hill, SC ....he has a channel on UA-cam amd repairs old cabinet games and has an arcade shop. Thanks for all you do.
All this did was remind me why I haven't been adding to my collection. Between hunting in the wild being long over and the insane increase in prices it's just not as fun as it used to be. It doesn't feel like a hobby any longer. It's become a business.
If sculptures cut doesn't have a Blockbuster sticker on it, I ain't touching
Good eye Tommy!
Rick I just got my package of stuff that I bought in the last WhatNot stream. Thanks so much, loving the new Game Point mascot stickers too!
Dang just cherrypicked his whole store and asked for a deal to boot
It’s a store not a personal collection.
If the guy wasn’t selling the games and Rick pressured him into selling then that would be wrong.
But buying games from a game store isn’t shady.
@Kyle Evans I get that but I wonder how he deals with people coming into his store asking for deals on what he's selling. You actually made my point. It's not a collection. It's a store that has to make a profit. Idk just seems cringe to me
@@daveinthelife91 Nah asking for deals is cringe when you're not used to it but it is expected to haggle in pawn shops and second-hand collectors stores. It's just business, nothing personal. If a guy got weird because you asked if he could go lower then that is on him.
@@daveinthelife91 Someone is unfamiliar with Monty Python, and how the world works in general.
_You're supposed to haggle!_
Love that you got to check out my home town!
Full earthbound box is something you should never sell.....but idk. These old video games are pretty much stocks at this point.
I love game shops like that. You don't see many of them anymore, but I think they'll start picking up again, especially with the state the gaming industry is in right now.
Awesome of you to showcase their shop too, I have a feeling they'll get some good business as a result.
In michigan our retro game stores are dying now we hav 2 get games & consels from goodwill 😢
Ones near me are severely overpriced. They want 120 for a gba sp and buy it for only 10 dollars. Makes gamestop look like saints
@@hanzohasashi5603 yes but gamestops dying 😭
@@hanzohasashi5603, they will all dig their own graves because overprizing to take advantage of the retro game craze! It will reach a ceiling where ppl just are not willing to pay ridiculous 💰 anymore.
With X-box Digital pretending to be a console game system and some PS5 being about the same , I totally agree with the statement about the bad condition of gaming today , , ,retro is totally the way to go , , , remember saving your progress on a good memory card , , , , thank goodness for retro-gaming , , ,😂👍
Fighters Destiny was a blast. id love to get that back in my collection again.
Stage Two looked like a great store with even better servive. Great find Rick 👍
7:53 "the big box earthbound". It only came in big box in NA.
Great episode as usual ! I liked the store !
cool store! always support local business over big business guys!
Lol... 100% credit and he's going to sell that guy pokemon cards with the retail markup. Respect the shop owner's hustle.
I don't get what part of this was a game collectors worst nightmare?
he saw something he couldn’t get (the earthbound game)
Stage two games was an awesome experience, enjoyed this a lot, seems like a real great little store ☮
I have a copy of Earthbound complete in box. The strategy guide is missing the redemption card that you could send in for a prize. The prize was a Mach Pizza Air Freshener. I have that air freshener still in its plastic wrap with the envelope and stuff that it was mailed in.
Love your channel Rick but don’t ya think if his prices are “pretty great prices” asking for a discount is a little much?
Pulling the “UA-camr” discount. Phoenix Resale does it all the time and it’s annoying.
To be fair that's how buying in bulk tends to work. Especially when some of the items are inventory that might not move as easily.
Not at all...the name of the game is to get as much as possible, for as cheap as possible, in order to make as much as possible when it's time to resell. And now that Rick owns a store, he's a full time reseller on top of his main job!
Great prices if you're buying a game or two, he is buying in bulk.
“Bulk”…all his good games. These games would have sold for asking price. He ask for a youtuber discount on sellers, not “bulk” shelf warmers
Loved this !
Honestly love watching your videos
Good stuff man looking for the next one
I guess i need to come back home to Arkansas and check these places out!! Awesome videos as always
@@packers12to80 Why do you say it's an old video?
@@packers12to80 Oh, I see. I wonder why he is sitting on a video for so long.
I've always wanted a store like this
Turnip boy commits tax evasion is like playing my life in a video game
How have I not found your channel I'm a new subscriber. Great music great energy and attitude great interaction with people. Also used to play dungeons & dragons. 😅
Love your channel!
Shows how dated this video is when the 10-dollar game collection wrapped last year. Rick is really back logging vids.
He really should have stated this in the description. Saying “today” makes it sound current.
His first 10 dollar game collection ended last year. He started another one for N64 and that one isn't over yet.
It’s the N64 specific “$10 Game Collection” not the one that ended last year
They’re super back logged. That video he posted with rob from lunkerstv had to be 4-5 months old just judging off what robs warehouse looked like in the video
Yeah he’s currently doing a $10 game collection it’s not the one that ended last year.
Rickster Killin IT!
I loved Stage 2 when I lived in Cabot! I used to shop their first location over by the pet store. The last I heard they had gone out of business.
they have a bigger location now!
In the early stages of the internet my mom digitally pen-pal'ed someone that either worked for or was affiliated with interplay. I remember he sent up copies of clayfighter2-judgment clay, claymates, and a startrek game. I never liked startreck but i liked clayfighter alot. And both my brother and i really liked claymates. Your thumbnail pic for the video brought me back
Damn this store seems awesome. Nice guy, good prices from what I saw and awesome layout with clean games and, more importantly, clean shelves and floors. I never make it to Little Rock, but next time I'm in Tennessee I might have to make a trip down lol
you just got a new sup my friend! Ohh i love these shops, we dont got many of them in Denmark, so then i see one i spent a lot of hours and money, followed op by my gf screaming at me rest of the day😅
Why is this a game collector's worst nightmare? I'd have thought this was a game collector's dream.
I played so much clay fighter and just gave it away to GameStop 17 years ago like it was nothin. So sad
Great video sculptors cut and Earthbound in box like wtf 😳
Great video big dawg!
2:35 the way he walked away lmfao
My kid picked up that link sword for 20 bucks at goodwill a few months back.
I have jackal. Played that game so much when I was a kid.
Nice man. Here in Vermont there is like two retro game stores in the state. I get my arm broken on just trying to get some of the games you get for some prices
Harry and lloyd's is a great store but is ultra competitive. anything that's valuable gets posted on FB and is gone within minutes. Great prices though!
I finally scored a copy of Earthbound for my collection, but loose only. I can only fathom owning the big box and manual!
Nice Journey t-shirt, Tommy!
I remember many years ago having to pass on a big box earthbound. It was in pretty rough shape, but it was only like $400 at the time. Even as rough as it was I'm sure it would be over 1k now.
I will ironically be in Cabot tomorrow, may have to swing by...
Touching the glass case hahaha
That store owner was the nicest guy
Maybe because im a bit of a pessimist, but Stage 2 makes me think of cancer instead of levels.
If you watch retro Rick backwards yall see a reseller sell up and commit to the love of collecting again...
I actually do have dreams about stumbling upon rare video game cartridges and it always ends the same. I buy a bunch and then wake up before I can play them.
In a way, it's a nightmare.
Awesome channel😀
Ben’s game zone in Omaha Nebraska is the absolute best game store I’ve ever been to. I’ve been to 32 states…
Stage 2 looks cool and super friendly owner! I have to make the trip and check it out!
marvelous storeeeee!!!
Such a nice store
Dude has a nice store!
That big box earthbound is so cool
Always cool to walk into a store that is a mix like a toy store. I played Magic the Gathering once, but I loved collecting Pokemon Cards as a kid, and very much enjoyed Yugioh I wished I kept the Pokemon Cards because my oldest nephew loves to draw and he would have loved practicing one those. And I just miss the Yugioh I still play my copy of Dark Duel Stories for the GBC.
How dare somebody drive through a parking lot while you're doing such an important thing....
Rick, you should absolutely let Tommy teach you to play D&D! You’d love it!
Rick is a pastor in music ministry first, don't think anyone will be able to convince him to play D&D.
@@TattedCollector *Rick is a pastor in music ministry first, don't think anyone will be able to convince him to play D&D."*
You're assuming that there is something anti-Christian about Dungeons & Dragons. That was the word on the street when I was a kid, but I know now that it makes no sense.
There _are_ many things that I realize as an adult are immoral and unacceptable, but D&D is not an example.
Picked up some nice games there
Dude what was the snowman fighting game! I havent seen that in years! Holy what a throwback!
Clayfighters
Clay fighters the sculptures cut version, blockbuster exclusive.
Nice video man. Do you know which Pokemon items the other gentleman received, for the game credits?
you will never know how much it hurts seeing earthbound sell for $1800 credit.
18 years ago, when I was around 17, I sold earthbound and the strategy guide with the scratch and sniff cards in tact in the book.
I sold it for $30 to my local game store. that is how much the mother 1 and 2 was going to cost on the game boy. (it never came out)
I have never forgiven myself for making that mistake.
Hello Friend ¡! Favorit Tv vintage Shop.. 😀👍
I remember my bro and I renting Superman from Blockbuster and being stuck with it all weekend pissing my bro off. He was the one who was great at games and I just loved watching.
I use to live in Bella Vista up in the mountains
Warhammer is my jam. Give it a go Rick!
retro rick opinion on dk oldies?
Rick could probably sell to DK Oldies and still make a profit with what they charge at that place 😂😂😂 if their trade value represents anything close to what they actually resell for haha
Ticket to Ride is my Jam.
Clay fighter was my favorite game
I got my clay fighters from blockbuster still lol.. heard it’s worth like 2000$ it’s really used and I still play it with the boys in the man cave! Lol taffy all day!!
Clay fighter sculptors cut is worth a lot. The regular one is around 30
Sounds like u probably have the regular version. Does it say sculptors cut on it? If not sorry to say you have like a 25 dollar game and not 2gs! 😂
Wow, those prices ARE pretty good.
Inclement golf has taken the haste . Who will trick dragons for their lack of beige?
Wow remember selling a near mint boxed complete copy of earthbound with unused scratch and sniff cards for £150 sterling here in the UK 15 years ago!
fun fact you have shared some part of this video before in 10 game challenge
I'll buy that Clayfighter Cart 😅
Wow those are insane prices for earthbound and sculptor's cut. When i got my complete in box copy of earthbound i got it for $400, as for sculptor's cut I never got it because $400 for it in 2018 seemed a huge amount of money for me and I already had gotten earthbound along with some pricey n64 games like second attack and goemon's great adventure (which are now even way higher than when i got them all complete in box)
as a kid i nearly almost kept from a blockbuster as the store was closing but at the time my aunt would had been overdrawn to keep it and told me i could even though that but since i was child i learned to be much more aware of money as a much younger child that anyone would normally learn but i told her no and she asked if i was sure and we returned it. it makes me so sad now lol but it was the right thing to do but i loved that game
3:13 I spot goldeneye 64 in the box top shelf behind the dude.
Do you guys play games in your collection? I totally do. Every single game I buy, I try at least once. Some don't work. The most expensive game Ive purchased was spending 80 dollars on a lot that had all 3 Ninja Gaiden games for NES and they are MINT.
Hybrid Heaven and Clayfighter 63 1/3 are those sleeper N64 hits imo. Price is going to blow up on clayfighter. Hybrid Heaven is great, but only gonna be expensive bc the rarity, it did not sell well. I like how this store prices their not extremely in demand games, they are friendly. Cool video thanks for sharing.
When you walk into a "game store" and you realize your collection is bigger than their entire inventory.
Imagine thinking that's their entire inventory
Stores like this are cool, especially when the owners are passionate about the games. I hate it when I go to a mom and pop store and they know nothing about games, but they sure know the prices. Years ago, I was at an indoor flea market and a guy had a Panzer Dragoon Saga sitting on a shelf for $1000. It was disks only. I asked if he ever played it and he said that he doesn't play games. I was so mad. Here was a game that so many people would love to play, but instead of being enjoyed, it was sitting on a shelf collecting dust. There was no way someone was going to walk into the flea market with $1000. He just knew that is what it sold for on Ebay. If I wanted to pay Ebay prices, I would buy it on Ebay. So sad.....
Hate to say it, but I do believe the Sculptors cut cart in the video is a reproduction. I cannot see that well, but if the board inside is white and not brown, that's a bad sign.
Can someone explain to me how there's any market for Wii games when homebrew is a thing?
In michigan our retro game stores are dyin now we must get games & consels from goodwil 😢
First time seeing your channel. I like it. But what is with the title? I thought they were going to open up those rare games, and find they were replicas or soemthing.
Nice to see the owner has the same name as me.
I still have my earthbound cartridge. No box though 😪
