And the movie also teaches from the beginning that´s better to be single and free while waiting for the right person, than being with someone just for the sake of having someone.
This beautifully filmed movie that sets in Hong Kong feels more real and so much better a film than that Amazon Prime’s “Expats” starring Nicole Kidman! Great chemistry between Bryan Greenberg and Jamie Chung, no wonder they got married to each other later! Such cute couple and what Emily Ting did in this film is like what Woody Allen did for New York in “Manhattan”. It’s her romantic ode to Hong Kong, which can still be a beautiful city to visit despite the current political situation it finds itself in. It also reminded me a bit of Richard Linklater’s “Before Sunrise” but set in Hong Kong
what makes this movie so much is that both actors are a couple in real life and they got married the same year this film came out which made the end even better
This is a GEM! Thank you UA-cam for recommending. Such great couple. They looked good together. The tour around Hong Kong the walks and talks are just so nice to watch. An open-ending and let us decide their ending. Ruby's "I don't know what I want" dialog touched me deeply and lead me into tears. When everything is up to plan and you think is the one you one and it suddenly hits you whether those are the want you want. They met at the wrong time but at the right places. I love the creative open-ending scene which lead by the the Taxi driver's dialog "Do you want one more stop?" and the looks at both Josh and Ruby, so smart. 2 thumbs up to Writer and Director!
I just randomly picked this film to watch and I was amazed and taken away by its simplicity which made it seem like a real love story :) by reading the com below I got to know that they ended up together in real life :) happy for them both :)
If you pay attention to the conversation and body language you find out when they begun to fall for each other and even the subtle jealousy. I love this movie so much and the fact that the end was open made it even better. It just means falling in love is not always black and white, at times its very complicated. I could watch it over and over and never get tired.
I first saw this movie 9 yrs ago, while on Cathay Pacific plane...i didn't knew them. i fell in love with the movie, very simple..just chit- chatting the whole time..and you'll find that it's a very nice movie.. I literally watched it 2 times, back & forth of my travel..same airline. 🤣😍😍😍.. that's the time i started following them both in IG..haha
Oh wow! Open ending! How do you want it to end? Make your choice! My ending would be: they go back to their couples, break up, and a year later Ruby and Josh find each other again and decide to get married 😄😄👏😄👏😄👏😄👏😄👏😄👏😄😄❤️🇵🇦👋
This reminded me of the Film trilogy "Before Sunrise", "Before Sunset" and "Before Midnight" with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delphi, Director Richard Linklater. I think the last two lines in the taxi were deciding; Ruby: - I don't wanna hurt him. Josh: - I don't wanna hurt her either. Jamie Chung (Ruby) and Bryan Greenberg (Josh) are married in real life, and on October 24, 2021, they announced that they became the proud parents of twins.
I miss Hongkong so much . Ive been an expat there during my mid 20's . Now aim in the 50's . True , take the risk, so you dont have so many " what if" when you are already aging and suffering from arthritis 😊. Its my story
WoW! As silly this movie was it touched on a few important cornerstones of a relationship that gives me pause to think. It was also inspiring in an odd way that makes me appreciate how it ended without resolution. How life sometimes doesn't give an answer immediately and it takes time and maturity to appreciate the conclusions that are eventually presented. Well done flick and definitely not a movie to be overlooked for deliberation on all levels of personal development. Bravo!
Living in Hong Kong, it’s so lovely to see the city and remember all those memorable places. The movie makes you believe in love. Such a beautiful movie ...
I loved this movie. It caught my attention because of Jamie Chung (re-watched Hangover II a few weeks ago). No special effects, no shoot outs or car chases. Simple but effective boy meets girl story. Also glad the two of them got together in real life. More stories and movies like this, please
It´s so refreshing to watch a movie that is so down-to-earth. It just feels so real and, ironically, that makes the movie so captivating to me. Amazing acting, too!
What a good movie! Fun to watch the interaction of this couple in exciting Hong Kong. Thank you for the wonderful script that allows me to use my imagination. Thank you, too, for allowing the actors to portray their emotions without vulgarity in words or actions which is so rare in movies today. This is just a delightful show; I'll want to watch again and recommend it to all my friends. Thank you.
I stumbled across this movie purely by accident and found it surprising good. The situation could happen to any of us and Jamie Chung played the part to a tee. Maybe because they were already a couple? Thoroughly enjoyed this movie.
This is a kind of story, friendship, adventure and lovestory I like. It captured my preference. I like the character; the sassy, fund and straight-forward conversation, the scenery, the emotions emphasized. It made me smile/giggle and cry.
This film and any others like it, are all we have left - of what was once Hong Kong in its modern ambiance. Thank you for this opportunity to enjoy a romance that could not happen now, and to see a once great cosmopolitan city, the likes of which there is no other.
I was totally hooked before the 15-minute mark. Great movie, with awesome acting, and it was something that was very relatable and endearing. Thanks for an excellent upload!
Reminds me of a movie, 'Before sunrise' (Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpie) which i loved very much. 😊 I really love this movie too. The chemistry between the two feels real! ❤❤❤❤
I watched this movie years ago, had no idea what it's about, now I see it for the second time, still no idea what it's about, the whole time I'm just looking at the beautiful Hong Kong I once lived, where people are treated as people.....

Omg what an amazing movie!!! Loved it. Even better learning they’re married IRL. I’ve had these kind of experiences, two souls that know each other, reunited.

End of the movie, they decided to get settle down & get married. Now they are happily married with twins. Great ending huh😉☺️ P/s - they are really husband & wife team
I think the ending it's about right, the director leave the ending to the audiences. I personally think they both shouldn't be together, because they never meant to be, it's just like someone you like pass through your life only, which always happened to all of us. It's just my opinion only.
@@opixel_tv For this night, absolutely. What they should do is go back to their current relationships and re-evaluate and deal and/or identify what they were feeling. I've seen this movie twice. Very good movie. I enjoyed it the second time as well. I was noticing that they did heck of a lot in one night than I did in a week. LOL! Ah to be youngEr.

Very cruel. Samantha didn't need to find out the second time he was hanging out with this girl behind her back. And for the girl it wasn't right to come with, she should've been decisive and firm and say no.

After seeing "Go Back To China" and "Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong" Emily Ting has officially become one of my favorite filmmakers ❤
I agree, but the toys designer job is getting a bit repetitive 😂
They are togheter ever since this movie, happily married with two gorgeous babies, God bless them!
@The Movie Club Erm, they fall in love when they met, think about when you fall in love when you meet a person not years later.
Fer real….that’s adorable 👀🇺🇸🕊
They were already together when filming it

This is the dopest budget movie I've seen so far. Their acting and the story are so good none of the other elements for a movie was needed.

Is there a part 2 of this movie? Kinda short and I wanna know how thier story end up
"Before Sunrise" is one of my all time favourite movies - this is such a beautiful take on it!!
This reminded me of the Film trilogy "Before Sunrise", "Before Sunset" and "Before Midnight" with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delphi, Director Richard Linklater.

🎯Yeah, the "Before" series resonates loudly in this movie.
❤
Jamie is pretty and a good actress. Her looks reminds me of Korean-Chinese or with Japanese or Philippines.
