I have an old 254xp. It’s semi retired as I have three others 550xp, 357xp and 572xp. But I will never part with it. It’s around 30 years old and has never had anything done to it except fuel filter and sprocket change along with chains and a bar here and there. What a saw 👍
Certainly its an oldie but a goodie.
I agree those were great saws in there time and still for the ones that survived, the 261 262 are great also
Gotta say you always do top quality repairs Scott!!
Always look forward to your vids, detailed commentary & humour!. Thanks for regularly uploading. Yaa make my day👍👍
Well thanks for watching!
Ya learn something new every day...! Thanks Scott!
That was a little tricky, Scott…. Solved 👍🏼
Great repair Scott! love the 254xp great saw!
It seems like a nice size saw for most needs.
I have a 372xp that is leaking awfully similar to this. Gonna check into it. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
I’ve Had That Issue On a Few Of These Saws Myself 😀 Excellent Job Brother 😀😇👍🏼
Have a great day!
Surprised the little filter piece was still on the vent! Good work as always!
Ya those filters tend to disappear.
More great content from the guy who's seen his fair share of saws!!! Good stuff Scott.
Thanks for watching!
Scott I use a locktite style super glue it's a gel style for those tank vents works great
@@larrywarner9314 Thanks for the tip. I'll look into that!
Runs perfect

Nice job Scott. Saw is in amazing condition considering its age.
It was nice to work on an older well kept saw.
Another great vid & editing Scott! Was that the fuel resistant ‘Seal All” sealant that you put on the vent?
It was fuel resistant but not Seal-All. Every time I get a tube of that stuff it gets used up right away. Its a great product.
Great video. Got to ask what sealant was. Looks familiar but can’t place it. Looks like permatex lithium grease.
🔥👍
Hey Scott awesome content!! Really like your tools and tool box setup nice to see your consistent troubleshooting methods. Very helpful for learning. Was wondering where I can get my hands on that nifty yellow fuel funnel you use all the time?
Just do a search for "radiator fill funnel" and you'll find many examples.
Thanks a lot:)
