The best thing out of this whole conversation was this : Every individual should abide to his duty and act accordingly . If he is a citizen its his duty to be non violent If he is in arm forces its his duty to do what is necessary not for his own ego but for overall peace for society . Mr Shekar Gupta the issue here is, whether we were secular in letter and spirit. At the time of independence there was a compulsion to give a feeling of comfort, in particular to Muslim community to have social harmony. Subsequently some parties started drifting away from secularism which was the ethos of the hinduism. They practised divide the Hindu majority and please the minority. Now there is correction taking place. Hope the fringe elements of BJP and others do not take the correction too far and take all religions and communities to-gather to unify the people emotionally. I am of the view that will happen when the leftist and so called secular parties start practising real secularism. The change of conduct by all parties now is an indication of the change towards that end.
Dividing Hindus is not that bad a thing ...but pleasing minorities is bad. A United major religion is always good for a country. For example Pakistan.. where the major religion is by and large United and look at its fate now where as Hindus which where not United in India and that's one of the reasons we progressed in comparison with them. And the minority appeasement and other things ..slowly the majority community is getting United and that is no good news for our future generations. People must be United against poverty corruption etc etc ..not on religious basis

@Ginza, Isn't it obvious? Being a well-read man, Amish would have quoted testimony of the most neutral (non-Hindu, non-Muslim, non-British) source i.e, a Spanish/Austrian Jesuit priest called Joseph Tieffenthaler, who visited Awadh for missionary activity in 1766-1771. Joseph wrote, "Emperor Aurangzeb got the fortress called Ramkot (Lord Ram's fort i.e., the Ayodhya fort where Lord Ram was born) demolished and got a Muslim temple, with triple domes, constructed at the same place. Others say that it was constructed by 'Babor'. Fourteen black stone pillars that are 5 span high, which had existed at the site of the fortress, are seen there. Twelve of these pillars now support the interior arcades of the mosque". That is not it. There is more. He also wrote: "Hindus worshipped a square box raised 5 inches above the ground called the Bedi, i.e., the cradle". He continued: "The reason for this is that once upon a time, here was a house where Beschan [Vishnu] was born in the form of Ram." He also recorded that Lord Ram's birthday was celebrated every year, with a big gathering of people, which was "so famous in the entire India". This confirms without any ambiguity that the Hindu claim over Ram Janmabhoomi is, in fact, authentic. I can quote lots of other Hindu, Muslim and British historians but unfortunately the left in India does not accept them as authentic testimonies as they think each of them (Hindus/Muslims/British) have an evil agenda to lie for selfish reasons and their words cannot be believed. However absurd that might sound, they claim that all three communities tell the same lie for different selfish reasons! Even if you believe this absurd theory, what will they tell about Joseph's work as he did not have any specific agenda? You see the leftist media in India maintains unambiguously that there is absolutely no evidence to prove the Hindu claim at Ram Janmabhoomi. They even call the archaeological excavation work of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) headed by a Muslim K K Mohammed as Hindutva motivated and thereby falsify the findings declaring, in the process, a Muslim scholar as a Hindutva bigot which is as absurd as any theory can get. However, Shekhar and his leftist pseudo historian toadies will stumble miserably trying to explain away Joseph Tieffenthaler's work as irrelevant and agenda driven. Hence, they take the easy way out. Censor the crap out of it which is the reason that part of the video is off. Kudos to Shekhar Gupta and his extremely honest journalism.

There was a question on PM attending the foundation ceremony at Ayodhya. I wish to highlight a practice in Armed forces that will answer the people who ask this question. Irrespective of the personal religion of the commanding officer, he or she will be the presiding officer of the religious function at his unit. For example a Muslim officer may lead an Arthe at temple. Similarly a Brahmin officer may lead the prayer at a mosque and so on. Why don’t our secularists And leftist view it in that perspective.

It's disconcerting to constantly see journalists, seekers of facts, to constantly hang on to belief systems. Science, history and other studies were not conducted to validate our opinions. They provide information, and it should be stated as is.
The best thing out of this whole conversation was this :
Every individual should abide to his duty and act accordingly .
If he is a citizen its his duty to be non violent
If he is in arm forces its his duty to do what is necessary not for his own ego but for overall peace for society .
Just like geeta says a kshtriya(arm personal not caste) should act for whole good .
One of the best episodes at so many levels. I did feel the end was too soon. thank you SG, ThePrint.
Thank you for tuning in. Do keep following us.
OMG best video ever I watched @youtube
Amish we want PPL like you who can show center of truth.
One of the best Off the Cuff so Far.
Hi Yugal. Thank you for tuning in.
At times Shekhar Gupta shouts in many interviews that he relies on facts. But here he clings to general sentiments clearly based on his biases when he says these days people attack Left historians and the writing of history is more Hindu. Well, history should be written based on evidence(which also include folk traditions) and logical debates must continue.
Rulers who levied jezia and systematically destroyed local culture , how can they be Indians, only because they were born and married in India? What a perverse logic SG has! That way British were also Indians bcos they established residence and family in India. To SG indian history starts with Khilji or Babur. He would be happy to call himself a descendent of Akbar!
Akbar was indian, but ethnically turkish. simple.
@@siddharthyadavchekkala2845 elaborate.
@Prash Uchia firstly its got nthing to do with nationality and ethnicity. but anyway most of the mughals were bad, barring akbar, because he was a secular king and also a decent ruler.
An intelligent conversation I haven't heard before. Brilliant.
you should watch his podcast with beer biceps that podcast is better thant this
Love Amish’s comment - ‘Shekhar machis’ 🤣
shattering the falsified beliefs of SG...
So called leftists, liberals and seculars will now debate on amish's view just to justify their illogical beliefs amd false pride...
after the interview SG would have been like: galti ho gae ise bulakr 🙏🏼🤦🏻♂️
Stay the way you are Amish ... bless you .
The suppressed yawn at 34 mins from SG is worth more than a thousand words. Brilliant.
Well done Amish. You speak hearts and minds of many.
Not often u see shekhar gupta perplexed not knowing what to respond. He kinda has a wise crack at the ppl of the perceived right. Amish with his elegant but erudite underplay jus kept his leash on the narrative spectacularly! 👏🏻🙏🏻
One of the best 'off the cuff' an interesting conversation....plurality of views makes India truly secular.....winds of change that happened in USA and Australia in 60s 70s where point of view of indigenous people was studied ....should happen with more enthusiasm here also....his view accept the past ....makes sense ...doesn't it? ....Sekhar loved the discussion to the hilt...being a student of Medieval Indian history..it was of particular interest to me(researched on Humayun Nama).
53:22 The king Siddhartha Gautama was born in Nepal and gautama buddha was born in india......End of discussion.period.
Well put. His transformation to Buddha happened in India?
@@gaurav107 yes ofcourse
Whoever they call, their narratives won't change.
Stubborn hypocrites.
I made a mistake...United major religion is always not good for a country...sorry
The concept of Dharma is beyond the understanding of leftists...
Amish is right if we accept truth it make peace
#Amish_tripathi sir we need people like you and people of your thought process to be our leaders on political front 👏 #print #shekhar_Gupta please convey this message to respected Amish sir
Dear Amish sir... I have started listening Sanjiv Sanyal after hearing it from you... He really have a unique perspective towards history.
Truer words have never been spoken before..thank u!
Shekhar gupta just cant digest the fact about mughals..
In any cost Mughals were better than Seljuks, Ottomans etc who ruled Middle East. Those rulers violently murdered Christianity and Zoroastrianism from its true homelands. Even after so many years of Mughal rule, they allowed India to be overwhelmingly Hindu. No other Muslim regime has let taht happen.
Also, let's not judge older generation based on 21st century morals.
@@BertRussie abey chutiye mughals kaun the? They were a mix between mongols and turks..may be u read frm whtsapp like most of chamhas..the atrocities are well listed..30000 temples destroyed..hindus were not allowed to enter the main city or capital as we say today..no diwali no festivities..u may have read a book from la la land
@@TheManishbishnoi it's clear who gets information from WhatsApp. There are many pictures depicting Mughal emperors celebrating Holi and Deepavali. Ever heard of people like Tansen and Birbal who were in Akbar's court.
Also read upon what Ottomans and Seljuks did to Christians and Parsis in the middle East. They are nearly wiped out. If Mughals were cruel they wouldn't have allowed 80% of the country to be Hindu.
@@BertRussie they didn't allow we fought to remain Hindu and some loose the battle so there are 60 crore Muslim in Indian subcontinent
@@BertRussie 80% you forgot Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Loved the way Guptaji was quiet..
this is my favrioute OTC till date
Despite the best efforts by our very learned and beloved SG, Amish didn't fall into the trap of giving a controversial statement 😅😁... Very good interview
I'm going learn Sanskrit as my mother's whole family is a scholar of Sanskrit.
But now I have strong reason other than legacy , to know my country and culture better about which I have no knowledge .
Such a great POV from Amish. Respect for him. We should accept and be proud of our traditions.
Shekhar was clearly taken aback by the mention of Mughals not being Indians, challenged his world view. Very well put by Amish totally agree to his viewpoint on all the things discussed.
Amish is a gem❤️💯
Common Shekhar Gupta..still leftist ideology is pretty much entangled in your mind.
Hope you got educated in this episode 😂
Two observations :
1. SG tried the hardest to get some answers back from Amish
and
2. Any opinion related questions to Amish : I'm also a diplomat 😁😁
Really enjoyed and learned a lot from Amish Tripathi. We need more Indian authors like him.
One of the best video I’ve ever seen on the print 👍🏻
Hi Ashutosh. Thanks for tuning in and do keep following us.
ThePrint a regular viewer 💕
India needs a proud narrative... like any other society... for that we need a connection to past history..& within that we encounter the conflict...in the end Foreign rulers Muslims or British are both defeted and gone...We are the winners & survivors...We need our own single national narrative!
Present Muslims were past Hindus....&/or Possibly future Hindus... we all need a truth & reconciliation... realization!
Proud pagan survivors !
What were Hindus before religion came into being. Dont draw history from where you find it convenient, if you go real backwards the story is different.
@kolkata 97 that is your interpretation not the fact or history because of your ignorance and reluctance to accept the reality and impose you belief on others.
Great interview
There are media reports from REPUBLIC and TIMES NOW that the article by Jyoti Yadav on Sushant and Rhea Chakraborty episode was PAID NEWS. Sir, How can you allow that to happen? How can Jyoti Yadav demean whole BIHARI community in order to support Rhea Chakraborty.
Lord Krishna was the most popular Vishnu avatar until the Britishers found him uncomfortable for Christian values.
A very nice & pleasant conversation.. Mr. Amish is a great speaker 👍 👏👏
Most important thing that Amish said is "We Indians United are Unbeatable"! So are we united today?
Amish is inspiring and empirical at the same time.
Why was Amish Tripathi's response to Shekhar Gupta's Ayodhya issue query cut out? Can you re-insert it?
what was the reply?what was the question?
@@chbilly4465 Thank You for this information
Shekhar Gupta seems to be burning that true history is being uncovered, he gets rattled whenever truth is revealed.
@gener8enigma lol..he can't edit it out...that was live session
Even if it were recorded...he tend to balance stuff for views
Everything is monetary here
They are scared shit Islamists will behead them if they speak the truth.
shatakoti naman shree amish ji, it was an eyeopener for me and many people, thanks a lot for sharing the valuable information🙏🙏
Very good talk!
Amish is coming across so knowledgeable. SG should focus on politics as Indian history is not one of his forte.
Every minute of this video is worth watching ❤️
Appreciate Shekhar ji for being honest in pursuit of truth. Your discomfort though was evident at times but openness will do good to you, to The Print and to society in general.
Amish sir ,Great effort! To maintain harmony among all religions
Please put these up as podcasts too
You could see that element of surprise and constant denial on face of SG.
Enjoyed the conversation.. Thank you Amish ji and Shekar ji
Superb...thoroughly enjoyed 😊 but why is Shekhar Gupta looking so uncomfortable 😄 . I guess we all know the answer 😄
That’s an awesome example. Thanks for sharing!
1 hour and 20 minutes of not pure history but some culture
Nicely answered by Amishji
Excellent amish 👌👌
Really enjoyed this
So very well spoken by Amish on the centrist idea of pain being a truth poison amongst all communities and its need for peace and reconciliation. Ours being a surviving pagan culture. So, so, so very cool he is.
