- A playthrough of Sega's 1991 arcade title Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car.
I've translated the dialogue and text in this playthrough and subtitled it in English.
Waku Waku Sonic Patrol car is a kiddie ride that was released only in Japan, and the ride's movement is controlled by the game playing on the screen inside the car. The video game portion of the ride is called "Harinezumi Sonikku no Omawarisan" (ハリネズミソニックのおまわりさん, lit. "Hedgehog Sonic the Police Officer").
Sonic Cop is patrolling his neighborhood when he witnesses Dr. Eggman's attempt to commit vehicular manslaughter. Oh no!
A few people asked me to translate this way back when I did videos for SegaSonic Cosmo Fighter and SegaSonic the Hedgehog, so here it is. Finally.

What's ironic is that in this game, Sonic is a cop, but then in Sonic Adventure 2 he got arrested by authorities themselves.

I like how this was in the very beginning of the Sonic craze. Way before 2 was even released.
Apparently it's one of the first Sonic games ever released.

Oh, to have experienced this in Japan as a kid. I remember seeing an image of it in Sonic Gems Collection or something and being fascinated by how many Sonic novelties I had never heard of.
...........That moment when you realize this foreshadows the live action Sonic movie.
It's reassuring to see the police force have such respectable members like Sonic the Hedgehog.

I remember this arcade game at my country's shopping mall, is short but enjoyable

Sonic became so educational in the cartoon the adventures of sonic the hedgehog he does a short sonic sez and teaches life facts and so does in other games
At least I can understand the story mode of the ride sequence hence the English captions.

I get the feeling this was gonna be an unrelated kids car arcade game, which got sonic slapped on at the last minute
i think its actually so adorable how sonic says stuff like "i'm turning" and always says hi to the pedestrians! it makes sense since this is a little kiddie game with japanese sonic in it (meaning he's meant to set an example and stuff) but its still so sweet, especially considering what fans were probably used to in the 90s (not that both american sonics aren't the goats either)‼ ^_^

Showed my Son this gameplay and I voiced Sonic for him. He really enjoyed watching thanks. Would have been cool to have an English version here. But Japan always has the exclusivity
I never heard that there was an another Sonic Arcade game like this one actually existed as well. I know there was SegaSonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Fighters exist, but I never seen this one popped up.

I didn't even know this existed. I've only heard of _"Sega Sonic the Hedgehog"_ with Mighty and Ray.
There was also SegaSonic Cosmo Fighter which was a kiddie ride shmup.

It’s true. The Police must put Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik under arrest because he is evil and keeps attempting to murder Sonic which is unforgivable. That I really hate and makes me seriously angry at Eggman. He deserves to be behind bars. Same with King Bowser Koopa for attempting to murder Mario. Never forget that Mario & Sonic are friends thanks to the Olympic Games.
