    Thanks for this vid, as some one who has been playing since PSO2 was available on xbox, I still struggle with wanting to dive into the duel quest portion of the game just because I did not want to upgrade more weapons, but how you explained it here, I feel like a dummy for having all the free gear and items staring me in my face and completely not seeing it. Going to try this tonight for sure!

    There is also an indirect way to make Meseta by gathering resources to either use yourself so you don't have to buy them or sell them with a shop pass. And right now the MDFA UQ is insane for that, it will be even more insane next week with Double UQ but even the LTQ is also really good resource gathering. It gives 30k SP per clear and naturally loops the endless SP quest for even more SP. After some amount of runs you don't even need to buy the duel augments because you already dropped so many. All the eredims, Halphinales, Gigas Maste and Gigas components. It's really easy to gather an insane amount of high value resources right now for very low time and effort invested.

    I think people need to understand there are different type of gamers. I enjoy playing this game quite a bit but I'm not going to grind to the point of killing myself or just not enjoying the game. This means that I'm pretty low on gear level but I push through and usually make the beer minimal while enjoying different parts of the game. This reminds me a bit of the BDO problem You have a large part of the player base that will push and push and push. Keeping up with that meta but then you have people like me who just come into the game to enjoy the features of the game such as their customization the battle system and the story. This means a lot of the content isn't experienced by all people and a lot of people are not going to do that extra grinding. And you do have to grind for quite a bit on this game but I put that in tear of the other MMOs. You know what you're getting into I just wish it was a bit more of an in-game guide of what we need to prioritize first. Even looking at the videos I still don't have a clue of what weapons that aim for or the best way to make money inside the game outside of buying a pass sell all of this items I get that I can't use and hope that they are good enough to be profitable. But great video I'll still be using the freebies for now until I figure out which armor is the best and what weapons are the best ones for me to use as of right now.

    this is true! I recently made my first character on another ship, I had basically nothing when I started... I think in like 2 weeks, just in the off time I wasn't on my main ship, collecting the freebie meseta from around Halpha, and some random materials that were on my path while collecting the alpha reactors, stellar fragments, snoal and hidden boxes, to just have some extra resources at hand, and doing one Leciel Exploration run every day, and doing a bit of dext base during storm around once a day, I managed to get gear good enough to access all content in the game.
    I just used freebie augments, Triyal augments and EX augments, xover weapon (cause I started before eredim) to +90 with fixa 2, einea units at +81 with fixa 2 and my potency is 194%. The only investment I really had to make was to enhance my gear, limit break and weapon potential unlock, which costs like a few millions, you can do easy in a couple of weeks just as I did (basically a couple of hours of dext base farm spread in between 2 weeks, doing your dailies and collecting freebie meseta).

  • @GamerZepheris
    @GamerZepheris 15 днів тому +4

    Your not wrong, but the problem is that farming dex base and duel quests once you have the gear decently set up for them is brain smoothingly boring. That is the bug bear that keeps me from doing it any more and nothing stops it from being boring as sin. For people that can stomach doing it, more power to them, make that money. I just can't stand doing it for more then 10 minutes without feeling like I'm going to fall a sleep.

      And dont forget that, in order to gain profit from duel quest you need access to player shop to be able to sell those augments, which most players doesnt have access to all the time.
      Otherwise the only real way to gain meseta is to grind in dex base.

      It's a bit more of an old school gaming sensibility. I mean, this is more or less the entire gameplay loop of RuneScape lol. This is how it was in PSO2 and PSO as well to a certain extent, there is always that one piece of content that gives you the best return on your time so you are going to want to do it over and over again. The way the internet is now, people will find out the best method of getting rich in a video game and beat it to death until it is no longer fun. I think that realistically, the only way to prevent this from happening is to either artificially time-gate stuff or to rotate things around on a daily/weekly basis. Maybe one week UQs give you more meseta, the next week a specific combat zone does, the next week it's the LTQ, the week after that it's Leciel, then Nameless City, etc.
      I think the best way to grind in NGS isn't to actually make these massive grinding attempts, but to be consistent. Do your dailies, your weeklies, and farm a little bit at Dext or whatever the current best money maker is and then log off. One to two hours a day. I've been doing that since PSO2's global beta barring major content drops and NGS is the best it has ever been for me as far as having enough meseta to get all the upgrades and phashion that I want.

    • @GamerZepheris
      @GamerZepheris 15 днів тому +1

      @@beardalaxy Reason why I said Krono wasn't wrong. Doing a hour or two of dext base/current best money maker a day, doing your dailys, weeklies, a player will get enough meseta for most things they would want to get. As I said tho, it still doesn't stop it from being boring. Doing it for so long just makes it part of a routine and i'm honestly tired of. I still do dailys and weeklys but actually "farming" dext base I just can't bring myself to do it as I said. I just feel tired and can feel my brain telling me after 10-30ish minutes "dafudge you doing? Play something that isn't tedious."

  • @delightXD
    @delightXD 15 днів тому +3

    Krono you are absolutely right on this topic! People should try to move out of freebie gears asap, because how weak they are.
    There are players who think they would be smart by going absolutely minimum, they cut corners here and there, they skip food and alliance mag buffs, making them doing contents much much slower than others.
    They thought they are outsmarting others by spending nothing into gears, so they can dump all meseta into fashion. Actually they are not.
    They slow down others so fewer people with better gears are willing to party up with them in the long run. Also, they are slowing down themselves to a point that they ended up making less meseta per hour so they end up losing in the long run.
    Their mindset really need to change to make their gameplay experience better. No, BiS gear is not needed at all, but budget gears like Eredim and Einea with full EX/LC/Triyals should be strongly encouraged.

    I started playing NGS about two weeks ago and have been trying to steadily upgrade my gear. But hearing multiple content creators lecture about how I should spend all my meseta on gear as an "investment" seems like a bad look for the game. The 10mil/week example you give barely makes a dent in the cost of fashion. It would take two weeks to afford the shoes you mention and that's only one piece of an outfit. I don't have the gear to try farming DQ caps yet. But only being able to post once/month as f2p makes me doubtful it will make a big impact. I'm going to keep working on upgrading my gear, but you make it sound like meseta rains from the sky and I just don't see it.

  • @Miraglyth
    @Miraglyth 14 днів тому +1

    Watching the video, I'm not sure who this is talking to. Because there's no really viable midgame augmenting right now, I've taken a recent interest in people's gear to see what (if anything) they're doing about it. In the last few days of spot checks, almost everyone I've seen is using Eredim with some using Flugelgard, Xover, Liuxtra, uncommonly Argenkul and very rarely Reyaaar or Wingard. Always +90 with full LC augments, sometimes instead with Lux/Glan/Gran.
    For all the talk about laziness out there, I'm just not seeing people with weaker gear, or even that many with Argenkul right now.
    But to refer back to keroppi's video too, that's talking about potency and that's an easier explanation.
    11 months ago: Freebie = Stira Domina (3%). Moderate grind = Halphinale LC (3.75%). BIS = Halphinale (4%). Moderate grind gets you 75% of the way to BIS.
    Today: Freebie = Halphinale LC (3.75%). Moderate grind = Halphinale (4%). BIS = Lux Halphinale (5%). Moderate grind gets you 20% of the way to BIS.
    That's just not worth it. Despite its recent supply increase, I've seen almost nobody with plain Halphinale. 90-95% are using LC, 5-10% are using Lux. And for how limited its benefit over LC is, I don't blame them at all. Switching from LC to regular isn't even really "investment" at this point. It's not going to get people from +210% to +250% the way LCs last year bumped the quiet majority in the wide space between freeloader and BIS-chaser from +110% to +153%.

    • @maymaymyonmyon
      @maymaymyonmyon 14 днів тому +2

      Eredim + LC is already maximum laziness because of how accessible both of those are.
      Halphinale has not been "moderate grind" for half a year now, it's free, you can get 50 Aegis Souls every week to make them
      Gladia is guaranteed drop with nameless city
      Gigas maste is accessible with gigas strugments albeit harder compared to halp/gladia.
      This whole week the UQ and LTQ have also been giving out halphinale and gigas maste as drops, so clearly you can take advantage of it and gear up without any cost.
      The only thing stopping you from using them now is the fact that they can be materials to make better capsules - it's not because the game not offering you midgame augmenting options, it's because you chose not to, saying it's not worth is contradicting.
      If you don't have a goal to improve or something to work towards to then at the end of the day nothing is ever worth it, because all you care about is making excuses how you don't want to play the game instead of finding a reason to play it.

    • @Miraglyth
      @Miraglyth 14 днів тому

      @@maymaymyonmyon I said LC is the freebie option today, yes. To elaborate on that further, they were a stock augment for Argenti 4 months after Leciel Exploration was added, and were added to the seasonal event exchange weapons with Aeoni Dekelion about 2 and a half months ago.
      I find it a little implausible to describe an augment that was sold for over 3 million meseta this time last week as "free", let alone one reliant on an ingredient with a weekly cap. Even by grinding for it, anyone using the capsules was paying the opportunity cost of not selling it, something that didn't apply to LC capsules. I was describing it as a moderate grind as of this week's update adding them to the LUQ and LTQ, as running the LUQ enough to get it on four pieces of gear still takes a short while. I sense we are not considering the same scale when we talk about moderate, here.
      I agree that anyone could "gear up" with basic Halphinale and Gigas Maste now without a tremendous effort. What the comment you replied to said was that the benefit of doing so is almost trivial compared to the benefit of grinding for LC capsules when they were only available with a few hours of playing Leciel Exploration grinding (before they were added to several exchanges in particular the Growthment exchange 4 months after Leciel Exploration appeared, and also several LTQs). Considering their shortfall to BIS, the gap has increased by a factor of 4.
      If it helps, let me put it for you another way: Someone upgrading from Stira Domina to Halphinale LC on all their gear 11 months ago would see their potency change from +100.0% to +105.9% with one augment alone. Someone upgrading from Halphinale LC to Halphinale on all their gear today would see their potency change from +200.0% to +202.9%. The effort of these upgrades is comparable for their time, yet the benefit has so clearly decreased (from 3% to 1% proportionally) that the additive increase has fallen despite today's higher scale!
      I have a goal to improve. That's where my recent frustration comes from; compared to previous mid-range grinds with the launch state of LCs being a prime example, "upgrading" from Halphinale LC to Halphinale is barely improvement. Starting from Halphinale LC today, with Halphinale too minor to help and with Lux beyond reach, what upgrades are available to me? I can see none.

    • @maymaymyonmyon
      @maymaymyonmyon 14 днів тому

      @@Miraglyth Even Lux and GGM are super easy to obtain with this event, it's not anything that's "out of reach" like you're trying to make it to be. Elaborating the whole math problem is just creating more problems out of nothing and merely excuses. The story is still "I don't want to upgrade gear for x reasons".
      The game is starting to demand better gears now with Solus R2 being impossible to clear with LC, trying to justify yourself to stay where you are would just leave you outdated forever 🤷‍♀️

    • @Miraglyth
      @Miraglyth 14 днів тому

      @@maymaymyonmyonI feel we have extremely differing definitions of "super easy". This is not a situation of "I don't want to upgrade". It is a situation of "I want to upgrade but there are presently no viable worthwhile options". I'm aware that not upgrading is making the high end of content difficult, this is why I am saying upgrading from Halphinale LC to Halphinale isn't enough to really contribute to overcoming that.
      "Super easy", to me, would involve capsules whose supply is such that they are no higher than 100k each on the market, which would still be 12 million (and four 30% success rate boosters) for a set of 12 augments. To describe anything more costly than that as "super easy" feels like a dramatic stretch, and I ask that you spare me the "if you can't spend more than 50 million meseta or more than 50 hours of human life on gear that might only last until August you aren't REALLY playing the game" spiel, it wouldn't be particularly constructive when I've already established that these costs are already not affordable to some and likely not justifiable to many more.
      I'm sorry that you don't like the math exercise to see if they could be attained within a reasonable/possible time frame for someone who cannot average above 4 hours per day on a video game. I do assure you the exercise was made out of desire (and then desperation) to find a way to get meaningful improvement, ultimately futile though it was.
