I feel so bad for Monica, she was trying to make everyone's Thanksgiving perfect and they all had the audacity to complain, even after manipulating her to get exactly what they wanted.
It was mostly like that throughout the show. Monica was the most responsible, loving and caring one while she is deemed as controlling, bossy and high maintenance. Personally for me though she is the main hero of the series.
The person i most hated in friends was Rachel..
They kinda created the drama queen so perfectly.. she was a b*tch imln my eyes cuz she made Ross suffer soo much..

Monica is a bitch you say ? She has been the one who took in Rachel in the toughest time when Rachel never even invited Mon to her wedding. She always catered for everyone's appetite and cleanliness. She has always been the supporting sister to Ross , she often had to be there to comfort others when they needed anything or felt vulnerable. She even tried her best to being Phoebe the love of her life. She had issues but she wasn't a bitch.

Why nobody hugged monica when she was yelling and crying, I felt so bad for her at this moment, it’s so hard to put a lot of efforts into something and don’t even get a recognition
As funny as I found the overall scenario, I did sympathize with her at that point - it was like "okay, joke's over" at that point. Before anyone jumps on me, I get that this is a comedy, but it looked like it could have been the moment where the jokes end for a moment, and they comfort Monica and apologise.
Chandler would have hugged her but he had something in his hand. Just saying because he always took care of her.

Everybody in this episode was taking Monica for granted. She did everything they wanted her to do, made three different kinds of potatoes and what not, and they had the audacity to complain and act like ungrateful bastards. I felt so bad for Monica, and yet I related to her a lot. The worst part is, nobody said sorry, or even thanked her at any point, or acknowledge the fact that Monica's food was destroyed and she had every right to feel sad, and annoyed and frustrated as she had put in so much time and effort.
I enjoy watching Friends, but boy do I hate this scene! I feel so bad for Monica, even Chandler mocked her here. Just because he's funny, doesn't mean what he said wasn't insensitive. A person who is crying because all of her efforts got wasted for no fault of hers, and he thinks it's funny to make fun of that?
Although it does show how much Chandler has grown towards the last seasons. People complain he became "unfunny" and "boring" by the end of the show, but I'd say he grew more sensitive and caring and stopped making jokes all the time at another person's expense. Sure, it meant less laughter from that equally dumb audience, but who cares man? It's more important to be empathic, than to be funny.
I wish the other characters also had a similar growth. Especially Phoebe and Ross. As much as I enjoyed the jokes and funny moments of these characters, I personally would hate to be around them in real life. Ross, the misogynistic man-child, and Phoebe, who is so unpredictable I doubt she'd hesitate stabbing me if it benefits her in some way.
Not that the other characters are without faults of their own or that these two don't have anything good about them, but it's just what is tolerable and what isn't.

Monica is literally the MOM of the show. She does so much for everyone so selflessly. She is so gorgeous. Her friends are so ungrateful even after she always did so much for them. Rachel had no right to shout as her friends were the reason she could afford to go on a plane. Joey saying they had better plans was such an insult. Monica arranged so much for them. I feel so sorry for Monica
It was really mean thing to say for Monica everyone pressurised her to make food of their choice and she was doing everything by herself to see them happy and after so much hardwork getting to hear they had better plans just breaks your heart. If it were someone else they wouldn't be doing anything for such ungrateful people yet Monica still been like a mother in the group.

Remember how later Amy moved in with her and Joey and Rachel explains to Joey that she was a lot like Amy when she first got there, that she was spoiled but she has grown and become a responsible adult? This is exactly what she's talking about in that scene. It's called character development.
Chill. It's just a character. If she hates rachel as a character then let her be. It shows how great this show is because people get so attached to the character like if the character is a real person.
I felt like the other are too harsh on Monica as she always tried her best. Definitely know how that felt on personal level 😫

It's most likely because over time she (and to some extent everyone else as well) became a caricature of their former selves. Monica went from "the mom friend" to high strung uptight OCD-borne freak. Ross went from the down on his luck but lovable hopeless romantic to an absolute sad sack. Joey was a chill guy at first but over time became a complete idiot. Those three are the ones who got it the worst

Let's all take comfort knowing that in the last season, the friends acknowledges Monica as "the glue that held everyone together", which is why they didn't want her and Chandler to move.

The beauty of it all is that, they all shared Thanksgiving together that year, and kept the tradition going throughout the rest of the series. No matter what, deep down they knew they were family. The very end of this episode is the best part.
