  • How to make Future Tense in Korean
    안녕하세요, 한국어를 쉽고 재미있게 만드는 한국언니예요!
    Hello this is Korean Unnie that makes learning Korean fun and easy!
    오늘은 한국어 미래세제를 배울 거예요.
    Today we are going to learn Korean future tense.
    To make Korean future tense, you attach -ㄹ거야 after the basic Verb.
    Why don’t we look at the example?
    Let’s look at the Verb 가다. 가다 is a basic Verb for the verb ‘to go’.
    When you want to change this basic verb form into future tense, you delete 다 and attach -ㄹ거야
    갈거야
    갈거야 is the future tense of 가다
    나는 한국에 갈거야 I will go to Korea.
    나는 내일 집에 갈거야 I will go home tmrw.
    Now let’s practice this with some other Verbs!
    읽다 is a basic verb that means ‘to read’.
    To change it to future tense, we earse 다 and attach -ㄹ거야
    Wait, then it becomes 읽ㄹ거야? No, we can’t just write consonant like that by itself, in this case, we attach 을거야.
    읽을거야
    신문을 매일 읽을거야. I will read newspaper everyday.
    내일 그 책을 읽을거야. I will read that book tomorrow.
    쓰다 is a basic verb that means to ‘write’.
    To change it to future tense, we earse 다 and attach -ㄹ거야
    So it becomes 쓸거야. 쓸거야.
    소설을 쓸거야. I will write a novel.
    내일 논문을 쓸거야. I will write my paper tomorrow.
    말하다 is a basic verb that means ‘to speak’ or ’to tell'.
    To change it to future tense, we earse 다 and attach -ㄹ거야
    So it becomes 말할거야. 말할거야.
    ‘숫자송’ 오늘은 말할거야
    오늘은 말할거야 I will tell (you) today.
    내일 선생님께 말할거야. I will tell the teacher tomorrow.
    In this episode of Korean Unnie you learned how to make basic past tense in Korean. I have also made a video of how to make past tense in Korean so check that video out as well. Your teaching videos are getting better! This is a great lesson. I have one suggestion; I think many of your viewers plan to visit Korea one day. So I think it is better to teach them 존댓말 before teaching 반말. ☺

    Hello Korean Unnie, in Korean text book, I learned the pronunciation of “읽다” to be “ikdda”, the “ㄹ” is silent, but in your pronunciation, I could hear “ildda” or even like“ilkdda”. Is it because of your dialect? Or it’s a new trend to pronounce it fully “as how it writes”?

    • @tahnjr
      @tahnjr 8 років тому +1

      i'll haunt You : It's a bit "abnormal". 😝 You're mixing both formal and informal speech. 제가 is the most polite (formal) way to say "I"; and 먹을 거야 is the informal way to say, "will eat". When in doubt, it's always better to use the polite form. Example: 제가 나중에 먹을 거예요. "I will eat later."

      @tahnjr 8 років тому

      BAYU WICAKSONO: Korean is like any other foreign language which has past, present, future, conditional, imperative, etc. tenses. One major difference is that Korean has high forms (polite/honorific), and low form (informal/intimate) of conjugation. It is CRUCIAL that a student of Korean knows the difference between these forms, and how/when to use them. One of my personal life rules which applies to speaking any language: "Learn the polite form first. You will (almost) never get into trouble by being too polite." 😊
