I’ve camped at the caravan park in Stanley and been kept awake all night by penguins wandering through …gorgeous creatures 😀

Good spot to see the penguins. The town of Penguin also has the same night viewings, which is where I saw them... so cute!! Stanley's Nut looks interesting. Just love Tassie.. Get well Nigel.

Fun penguins! Glad to hear Nigel is feeling better. As we are mid winter here we have had rsv, flu, COVID, and nasty colds all running around. Thankfully we have just had the colds but no warm days to help get over them .

Yeah it’s tough during winter! His is a nasty virus he caught on the plane back from Saudi, but thankfully he didn’t pass it on to me!

Great video. Some beautiful sights and the Penguins were very cute. Loved that sunset view too. The village is really lovely, like you say, like a little Irish or maybe English feel to it. 🤗💌

That sunset view was stunning!! Well done on making it up there (send help lol 🤪) So glad you got to see the penguins eventually. I'm sure you'll see many more in your travels around Tassie. Not surprised you didn't see any in Penguin itself. A number of them we killed there by a couple of bogans a few years ago. There was a huge uproar. I just googled it to find out when it happened and was shocked to see numerous similar incidents. Makes me so angry!!!!

Great to see a bit of Tassie in a 'heat wave' - the Brits following will be well warned 😂 guessing this was all shot about the same time as the 45+ in SA?
The other half is a penguin-nut, so I know where I'll be taking her now... lol! Love seeing the Nigel dives again, def missed them! Glad to read he's feeling better too! Hope you're both having a great time and enjoying the rest of Tassie! ❤

Every time I go to Tassie on my bike Penguin is my first stop. I park the bike under the branches of a tree opposite the supermarket and go get one of the best coffees I have ever had and a scallop pie from the bakery. If you do the Huon Valley stay at the local caravan park. There is a one of the best camp kitchens I have ever seen and they have Tasmanian Devil feeding every arvo and it is free.

There is a place near Port Arthur but it is expensive. I recommend the caravan park at Huonville as they do feeding every afterrnoon and it is free. Don't forget the scallop pies. I pretty much live on them when I go to Tassie.

Nigel could have mycoplasma pneumonia, like my wife, so are are camped ar Old Mac's at Launceston while she recovers. Symptoms are fevers, lethargy and a bad cough which won't go away. Antibiotics are the only cure. Several of our families in Sydney and Brisbane also have it. There is a national outbreak. The ABC did a story on it. Go to a doctor and get antibiotics or he will be sick for weeks. It is airborne so you both will get it.
Penguin is an amusing town. We camped on tge beach front and a squad of penguins moved in under us and made a shocking racket, fighting or having sex.
We walked up and down The Nut. Lovely town.
Did you go to the historic homestead nearby at Cape Grimm where the convicts were forced to live on the edge of the and exterminate the Aborigines? The display in the historic house is sobering.
Heading south you should camp in the Tarkibe Wilderness, which is freezing in winter.

    • @nigelandsueadventures
      @nigelandsueadventures  Рік тому +1

Thank you Michael, fortunately Nigel is ok now (we are a couple of weeks ahead of our videos). He was sick for a week. I suspected Covid, but his test came back negative. It’s definitely a sickness he caught on the plane on the way home from Saudi. Fortunately I didn’t get sick.
And yes, we loved the Tarkine Wilderness, look out for that video next Sunday.
We hope your wife is better now. Take care and I hope we see you out there!

Glad to hear. There is an epidemic of walking pneumonia which isn't getting much publicity. Nasty.
BTW try not to hit a wombat. They are huge, as hard as bricks and can bend suspensions.
We are planning to head down the east coast to Hobart and then back up the west coast.
Have you done the Gordon River cruise yet?
In Hobart the Female Factory is a must, where female convicts were kept between farmed out to farmers, often returning pregnant.
Port Arthur is also a sobering must.
It is possible to walk to the bottom of Tassie from a car park and camp nearby.
MONA is only one of several art galleries.
The wharf at Hobart is surrounded by early buildings. Try the pub.
      Enjoy.
