Rest in peace Jupiter Jones you fought bravely like a true Caspian. This has been an incredible campaign to watch and I cant wait to watch Shadows as well!
Idk how i found yall. I started watch current iteration of this campaign i then went back and watched every episode. Watching this stuff and also current stuff the evolution of this setting is amazing and just want to say thanks for the entertainment.
Hearing about The Shadows of Drakenheim got me goosebumps, when River said we're gonna need more heroes, it gave me chills. I cannot wait for Season 2.
Consider this, Drakkenheim team: your campaign "season finale" is the one finale of anything I was by far the most positively excited and looking forward to this year. This is a year in which all of my favourite franchises got their endings - and every single one of them disappointed me, broke the franchise and made having been a fan of the thing in question almost feel like wasted time, like a mistake. But YOU, people - you CAME OUT AHEAD OF worldwide-acclaimed franchises and billion-dollar juggernauts on my "excited for" list. AND - unlike them, your (interim) finale DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Instead, it feels like the most graceful possible resolution, and considering the situation things were in in the campaign, that's remarkable. And you even played it out perfectly at the table, to boot! Honestly, people, this is a badge of honour - you, with your own tabletop fiction campaign, provide higher-quality and more satisfying and fan-worthy entertainment than the most rich and powerful entertainment giants of the world. You make people far more excited and invested than fricking new Star Wars movies do! Keep it up and you might sway me into patreon or something. Truly, truly fine way to finish a major stage of a campaign. No delusions about forcing in an end to all the plot threads, instead providing a full climactic confrontation that actually fits thematically and bookends the campaign absolutely perfectly, gives an important resolution to a tense stalemate that settles the most urgent problem at hand, yet also leaves a clean path towards other unresolved problems. It kind of feels like the Neverwinter Nights campaign's main stage acts - and this was Act 1, the grand troubles in the city, and now spreading out to also include some country. And that campaign is still a legend among many, in a decent way - and I'd argue that yours is rather superior, in every way too. Seriously, it's quite great to see the Rat Prince and rats in general turn out like they did. Many tabletop groups end up with a "favourite"/"mascot NPC", and Rat Prince was exactly that... but Monty never let it out of sight that he was an evil pest, never stopped being that way, and allowed the party to be overly permissive to him, and to make key mistakes (and showed them all the hints that it's a bad idea) - and unleash the full potential of the dormant threat that was the rat horde. Vermintide is a great "endgame crisis factor" here - I do love it that Monty played that card to further excite the situation and make it less "predictable". From a "funny evil comedic sideshow" the party treated him as, the Rat Prince became a true "chapter final boss", sneaking up on everyone beautifully and upending the silly manlings' games of intrigue and power struggles with, well, a tide of vermin - and it felt immensely satisfying to first see him rise purely as a result of player actions and mistakes, and then have the players confront him at last and take care of their own mistake. Also really love it that the party DID, in fact, manage to destroy the Rat Prince themselves without using the bomb. They really have become strong - and it feels satisfying to see them have to go all-out and use their full arsenal of tricks to down the "chapter boss" without resorting to overly drastic gambits. No loss of assets, a few great final fights, and a pleasing thematic conclusion. Well done. And now I'm left wondering if there really is an exclusive rat dimension in this verse's Abyss. Would be awesome if there was. Monty's a pretty nice DM. He doesn't play actual "enemy" to the PCs, but he also doesn't coddle them TOO much. He's kind of nice to the party, but he lets them slip up and make their own doom just fine if they fail to play correctly - in the end, they're only standing here now, victorious, because they played wisely and extricated themselves from trouble successfully. This leads to gameplay that should be satisfying to play, and is certifiably satisfying to watch; suspenseful, but not apathy and hopelessness-inducing at all. Plus, there's the whole set of things I mentioned above - leaving enough meat on the bones for a "season two" of the campaign, and being smart enough to finish the massive set of plot threads in stages like this in the first place, not awkwardly forcing a conclusion to everything right here and now but letting things unfold at their own organic pace. Will be great to see further plays with Kath/Cath, and with the planar powers, and the Crater (pls explore it) and Allyria and Haze and delirium smuggling and everything! Definitely interested in a book! Even though I'm yet to play or DM any sessions of my own, I'd legit be interested in ordering one. Perhaps use it to build my first campaign? Would be neat indeed. Also, huzzah for Kyle growing another finger! His levelup perk after the campaign. Happy holiday season to you, team! See you next year, can't wait for more already! Really curious to see what the next three characters may be like and how they may fit in with the existing things and where! P.S. Great to see the kind of quality art thumbnails this campaign deserved all along arriving at last.
100% this - a bunch of (very talented) friends playing around a table absolutely smashing the writing of million dollar TV shows and movies. There has to be a lesson about how the world works in this fact somewhere.
Final Season 1 session! Thank you guys so much, Monty, Kelly, Jill, and Joe, for doing this! This has been not just an awesome show to watch, but a beautiful and compelling (and often tragic!) story, and I've loved every bit as I've watched it unfold over the past months. Sebastian, Pluto, and Veo have truly earned their place among the likes of Drizzt Do'Urden, Mordenkainen, Raistlin Majere, and Tasselhoff Burfoot. Monty's DMing is incredibly rich and detailed; and Kelly's, Jill's, and Joe's roleplaying is engaging and lovable. Dungeons of Drakkenheim has been an amazing experience, and I can't wait for season 2! I love you guys!
One of the best D&D campaigns out there. Monty I have been a DM for over 30 years. I take my hat off, not only for your creativity but also for your ability to handle a live game and unexpected situations with such expertise. Keep it coming please.
I recall watching the first episode (The Rat's Nest) and thinking "A party with no healer? Going to be rough. And who are these people?" I had seen several of Monty and Kelly's Dungeon Dudes videos, but that didn't give me a solid feel for how they would be as GM and player. Jill and Joe were complete unknowns! Within the first hour, I saw that they were solid players who knew what they were doing. And Monty's storytelling style kept me on edge of my seat. Over the many episodes, their backstrories were slowly revealed. I don't know if you had ever played together before, but you quickly grew to be a coordiated team. This is the best entertainment I have had all year (Yes, surpassing various Marvel and SW movies). I would love to take my players through Drakkenheim, though I think I will hear Monty's voice echoing in my head as I narrate the environment. Thanks to all of you for sharing your adventure and your stories with us!
So much more interesting when the party is not murder hobos! The rats and their crazy story arc, Oscar and his increasing role up to being a secondary BBEG, even the highly mutated queen they could have killed (and almost did!), all turned out to great storytelling (And good job to Monty for rolling on with all that hahaha, hope he didn't plan anything too much in advance) when most groups would have just chopped everyone to bits. Seriously it was a great series to watch and I can't wait for Season 2, truly inspiring!
The reason you guys were easily able to push beyond 12 episodes is because it is apparent to everyone watching that you have a great love for this game and for just having a good time with your friends and that's all d&d needs to be. Thanks for all 52 episodes you guys were awesome. So excited to see what characters spring up in the wake of this story... So many places the story can go that it boggles the mind... Have fun with that Monty you devious DM
...and a “Throneroom of Rats w/ the Rat Prince” is yet added to Pluto’s resume to our dismay. The Rat Prince will be mourned. Rip Rat Prince Ep 1 - Ep 52. You’ll be missed, yes yes yes :’(
I know, but a Throneroom of Sibriexes sounds much better on a resume than 1 Sibriex and a few little melted guys. You gotta make yourself sound more qualified, ya know.
Wife: childs at school... we have whole house at our selves... So... wanna do something? Winks at me... Me: Let’s binge last two episodes of Drakkenheim.
Just finished the rest. Absolutely incredible series that you guys put together! I’ve been trying to wrap my head around what makes it so good, and I really think it’s a combination of a lot of things. But one thing that stands out to me is how Monty can use the “butterfly effect” to turn seemingly benign decisions the players make into HUGE campaign plots. I mean, just look at a silly little decision they made to trick the ratlings into thinking they’re ghosts. Look at what that eventually blossomed into! I swear to god if you’re in Monty‘s campaign, you can eat eggs for breakfast and six months later you’re having to save the world BECAUSE you ate eggs for breakfast.
God what a rush! I've never been so immersed in a campaign in my short time watching and playing 5e. Everyone here did such great work in RP and play, and Monty is an amazing DM. Personally, I'm hoping immensely for a published module for this game, this was an amazing experience to be a part of. I'm only sad I was never able to watch it live, but this was a great way to spend time during work and on my walks. Have a great break, and I'm so happy I stuck it out even when I started 30 episodes behind.
Season 2 should be a plane-hopping adventure dedicated to tracking down and apprehending the Queen of Thieves, in which she keeps leaving cryptic (and oddly educational) clues behind. With the aid of a hologram of Eldrick, our bold detec- Heroes, I mean, will never rest in their search for the Queen of Thieves! Season title: Where in the Worlds is Katarina Von Kessel?
Thank you so much Monty, Kelly, Jill, Joe and all involved in making this amazing and epic campaign! It's been the highlight of my week almost every week all year! Cannot wait for season two, and it's going to be amazing! Sebastian, Veo, Pluto... I'll be watching you. 😁
Thank you for such a fantastic series! I would love to have a vid with everyone discussing some of the events during the games. Especially Monty with how utterly unflappable he seemed no matter what the players did! Nicely done!
This has been an absolutely fantastic run. So glad I stumbled across this channel when I first got back into D&D back in 2018. Ya'll have a Merry Christmas, or Hannukah, or whatever Holiday you want to be merry with, and a Happy New Year! Go Drakken Force!!!
FINALLY CAUGHT UP!! Just in time for next season!! Y’all are amazing! Monty, you’re a wonderful story teller and I love your NPCs; Jill, Joe, and Kelly, I love your RP and decisions. I love watching you guys play. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.
I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this campaign. Perhaps my favorite part was that it was impossible to choose a favorite character between the three of you. I hope next campaign one of you plays a healer so you don’t have to rely so much on potions, haha. I am especially looking forward to Joe’s new character, as I felt that Pluto’s intelligence/charisma didn’t allow him to be as witty and verbose as he could be. Can’t wait to meet the new characters! Until then, enjoy your time off and Happy 2020!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! What started out as randomly watching the 5e guide episodes led to a few month long binging the Dungeons campaign. I laughed, I cried, i felt all the feels. I was enthralled by the story, captivated by the character’s developments, and lost most sense that this was a game, but instead a book that was being written, each episode a blank page that was written as the happenings unfolded. I have never had the pleasure of playing this game, but I feel you set the standard for the way it can be done. Bravo!
Just finished the first campaign. Just wanted to say, I fell in love with the setting, characters, and storytelling from episode 1 and have been enthralled with the ride you guys took me on. I signed up for patreon just to support you guys and backed your Kickstarter at the highest level. I’ve never DMed before, but I can’t wait to run this and share this awesome world with my table. Thanks for giving me a great campaign to watch and inspiration for my own role playing in my current game. You guys rock!
I'm not sure that this was intended, but I find it amusing that your last show of the year involved killing the Rat Prince as a tribute to the Nutcracker!
I have been following the dungeon dudes for a few years now and backed the book before I even ever started this series. That being said, I just spent the last 3 weeks binging this series and holy hell was this good. You all rock. Thank you for the good times.
I love this campaign. Throughout the entire thing the players and characters prove multiple times that they love each other and that together you can overcome terrible situations; not alone. Kind of generic and general for a RPG game, but the chemistry between players is truly the secret sauce of this live play experience. Thank you for everything.
My Dudes/Dudettes, My wife and I have just finished watching this season and I want to say a big thank you for the effort you've all put into providing this for us all. This has been a massive inspiration for our playstyles in our home game, particularly with the RP elements between the players and the NPC's and has shown me, personally, how i can be a better player at the table. Some of the moves that the characters have performed in combat have also fed into the creative aspect of the game for me as well and have shown me what is achievable, particularly in some of the clutch moments! I've even started to build a new character (thanks for the inspiration, Jill! Some of the best moments have been watching you pick up _all those dice!_ ) for an upcoming campaign based around the Ranger/Rogue multiclass (but I'll probably go Assassin on the Rogue dip). I look forward to starting season 2!
4 years. I as 4 years late to starting this series. It feels just as fresh as i'm sure it did in 2019. I just spent 2 weeks wtching this whole thing from 1-52. Yall have something special herre. I'm not sure i can watch shadows since school is starting bacck but i sure hope I can. Yall are so fun to watch. I loved kellys plans, joe is one of the funniest personalities i've seen on the internet period, I love jills...damage? Monty im taking all your videos about dm'ing super seriously because you KILLED it. Well done. Yall rock. I can't wait to try to play dnd one day.
This was such an amazing and entertaining thing to watch oh my god. I had no idea when I started this that I’d be binging it through 52x3hr episodes like it was nothing. You guys got me into D&D, showed me how to be a respectable player, and now I’m trying to be a DM. Holy crap, I’m so attached to all of the characters and am completely blown away by it all. You all rock, amazing inspirational DMing. You bet your asses I’m buying a copy of that book!!!
I just finished season 1 and my mind is blown. Monty is an inspiration to us other dms, and Jill, Joe and Kelly are amazing players with huge amounts of creativity. Thank you very much.
Just gonna let you know, episode 51 is not actually in the Playlist for your Dungeons of Drakkenheim playlist. Really minor, but figured it was worth mentioning. Outside of that, between Critical Role and you guys, I've been hard pressed to find another decent Campaign. Most of them tend to devolve into "How hard did I hit it?" Or "It's cool, so I'll allow everything." You are also the only two that actively attempt to correct your mistakes, or adjust for what suits your own game. Which is thoroughly appreciated and super encouraging to new DM's. In my mind at least.
I do have to make a point of noting however, Joe. You tend to overuse your reaction, on many occassions. Do you have alternate rules in play for reactions?
@@devonsmith9519 If you're looking for another live play I really enjoyed You Meet In A Tavern. The DM and all 3 players are all 1st time D&D players. It has a 50 episode 1st season that wraps up the whole story. They're also starting season 2 in January but they're going to,be playing a Pokemon campaign, I'm stoked for that. I don't know if it's on youtube though, I listened through a pod app.
Late to the game here but man what a great campaign. This last battle was masterfully played by all of you. Gave me chills more than once. One of the best D&D channels out there.
one of the best campaigns out there, the right amount of everything that I like. I can always leave it and then pick it right up, and I think it's because it has a lot of rich material but recognizable enough to follow. I was waiting for the moment you decide to make some material people can use out of this. I totally want to steal so much of it that I would rather play on Drakkenheim itself... Well deserved vacations, dudes and friends. I'll be seeing you next year.
Just finished listening to this entire campaign and it was amazing. This was by far the best live campaign I've ever heard. Amazing DM and amazing players. I'm going to go see what happens next now. Thank you for the hours of entertainment!
Kudos to Drakkenforce and friends for putting together this amazing production. That was the easiest ~150 hr binge I've done and I absorbed so much knowledge along the way of how to play, so thank you for the edutainment in a masterclass of storytelling. I started watching Dungeon Dudes to learn how to play optimally as well as help my friend be a better DM and now you've inspired me to be my own DM and also see how much fun both the PC and DM can be! Can't wait to mimic and draw inspiration from the heroes of Drakkenheim when I play as my own PC too, who needs Marvel and DC heros when I can look up to the Dungeon Dude cinematic universe! Haha. On to the Shadows of Drakkenheim! After I take a Long Rest (but not too long!) 😉
strong fucking finish, mates. I have rarely been so goddamn immersed in a show and invested in the characters as with this story. Monty, your storytelling is next level and all of your roleplaying has surpassed any I've ever seen. Even capable of capturing emotional moments and making character bonds and relations feel authentic. Proper kudos.
I absolutely love this channel. Monty, your wonderful style of DMing has gotten me back into the game after almost 20 yr away. Now i have my own 3 pc party on a homebrew continent. At the end of this campain the party will find clues to the fact there is another continent to the west and then will find a magic item infused with delirium in the final boss lair. Dungeons of drakkenhiem will be ordered this week and used to set the other continent. Thank you to all of you dudes and dudettes for the inspiration.
I watched but an hour of the stream recording. Time to finish it up TGIF but not that it's the last episode. Although, I'm so happy you guys can rest from the campaign for now. I can't wait to see them take on Devils and such. Fantastic setting and execution of the campaign, guys and gal. Much love
A sincere thank you to the cast and crew that made this possible. Jill, Kelly, and Joe brought Veo, Sebastian, and Pluto to life in a phenomenally-detailed world created by Monty. (Playing a campaign with Monty as the DM is now on my bucket list.) Monty, your ability to tell a story and to keep 1000s of viewers (and the team) on the edge of our seats round by round and week by week is only matched by an amazing ability to bring NPCs to life with an unbelievable repertoire of voices... and a nearly perfect delivery when switching between different ones in conversations such as the Zone of Truth and the arguing mages in the tower. You all made us happy, angry, sad, and fearful as we experienced Drakkenheim with you and through you, one session at a time. Like each session, this first season has come to an end leaving me wanting more. Looking forward to starting the shadows soon.
When Sabastian said that they needed to recruit new heroes, my heart soared. I wish I could be one of those heroes but I am sure you already have players lined up. I hope you keep it real with everyone at the same table. Oh, and I really hope lapel mics make it into your equipment list for next season.
Lapel mics have higher chance for interference being wireless, also, higher sound quality is the target, so quality studio mics are the better choice for this kind of situation
What an amazing series guys! from start to finish every episode was awesome, and i can't wait for next year's Shadows of Drakkenheim. If you will publish a Dungeons of Drakkenheim book it will definitely be something i will bring to my game table. Thanks for all the effort and the work that you put into everything on this channel :)
You guys got me into D&D! Following this campaign has been amazing, it’s crazy to think it’s been a year already. Love you guys, keep up the amazing work, can’t wait until the new season. I’d love a source book as well. Love the setting.
Loved the show guys! Excellent production, great camaraderie, engaging story, cool characters, and overall fantastic work! Thanks so much for an amazing season and I look forward to watching Shadows of Drakkenheim. Truly some of the best live play D&D I’ve had the privilege of watching!
Great ending to your first season guys and gals! Thank YOU for putting other aspects of your life a bit behind this amazing program you created. 52 episodes and not single one without a player being able to make it! (That's got to be close to a D&D record! Lol) Such a satisfying conclusion to the Rat Prince's story. A monster Pluto was supposed to kill in Episode One!...my goodness how that got spun out into a major plot thread! I think I can safely speak for all of us Rat Prince fans in saying that there was no better way for him to go than being Trisected(!) and flung into the Abyss.
My cat was startled by the noise of rats heads popping. Well done, Marty! (I love this campaing very much, and I've officialy entered your Patron. Congratulations, everyone!)
WHAT A RIDE! Thank you so much for this awesome season. I am blessed and grateful to have discovered your channel and this amazing campaign. Onwards to season 2!
Since I found this show it has been part of my daily routine for the past few weeks. I've watched it at home, listened to it in the car, snuck in parts of episodes at work, and had it on as I'm going to sleep. Thank you for being the best ongoing entertainment I've had from UA-cam ever. I'm recommending this to everyone, and I am so keen to play Drakkenheim with my mates one day. Cheers from Australia 👍
Wow guys. Just finished all 52 episodes. Love the show. Perfect combo of masterful DMing and creative/fun characters who all role play like champs. Despite having DM'd for over 20 years now I have learned so much watching you guys. Thank you all!!!
This has been so much fun. I breeze through 40+ hour audiobooks in in a few days. I loved 200ish hours of very entertaining content. I got to get caught up on the new series next. Thanks for making this available.
Watched it finally! Huh, what a race. Thank you guys, I spent my 52x3 hours with you already, that was fun. Never thought I would watch something that long and here I am. I watched it while I was painting and driving almost like a podcast but checking sometimes for the battlefield and the face impressions
From december 2020, I want to give you my most sincere thanks. Like many others, I've seen my love for D&D rekindled by your campaing. I'm looking forward to the next campaing more than many many other series. You guys are the best!!!
Just wanted to thank you all for this amazing work you've done. It's been an immense pleasure listening and watching this campaign. Can't wait to enjoy season 2. P.S. I've never tried DnD myself yet having gained some experience from you guys I'm pleased to say that I managed to involve a couple of friends to have our very first adventure. Without you and your contaminating enthusiasm this would not have been possible. *rays of adoration with super advantage*
You don't need to thank us for watching, you guys did all the work and you guys did all the entertaining. This was fantastic to watch from episode 1 until the end. Monty you have some fantastic players. The detail and passion you put into your setting is palpable through our screens. The chemistry of you four friends just playing a normal dungeons & dragons game is fantastic. Only one week left to wait!
I've now completely ran out of d&d to listen to and idk what to do with myself. My group doesn't meet often enough to scratch that itch and these helped. Now I'll just cry in a corner with withdrawal. This whole campaign wa so good! The players were fantastic in making you feel emotionally invested in their characters. Monty you also did an amazing job making a living and breathing world. Super excited for season 2
This was an amazing thing to listen to and watch. Can’t wait to see the expansion of characters I would love to see a Druid in the next season and have the corruption of a Druid grove or the feywyld. Also let’s have a crafty swashbuckler who was cheated and abandoned by the queen of thieves and joe can play whatever
I’m so happy to have gotten through this. I’m a getting your Drakkenheim books in hopes of running a campaign as amazing as this. To Monty, Kelly, Jill, Joe and Kyle thanks for inspiring me and many others in the darkness of fantasy!
That wasn't the ending I expected. Very cool. I'm eager to continue your story in "Shadows of Drakkenheim". Great story, guys and gal. It's hard to imagine that this might've been only 6 sessions. I'm just now finishing this first season in 2024. Your first two books sit beside me on my bookshelf, and your third campaign (and third book) are humming along. Thanks for the great campaign at your table, and for adding Drakkenheim to all of our tables, as well. 👍🏻
Really wish Monty gave Elias Drexil a class with levels instead of just generic fighter man cause he never seems to use anything. Also I watched all 52 episodes in the last 3 weeks most of which while I was sick with a cold. Was a great season! I look forward to any kind of Drakkenheim campaign book you put out.
Thank you Kelly, Monty, Joe, Jill and Kyle for doing this possible. It has been an amazing ride, fun to watch. I look forward to next season and untold stories.
Just finally got caught up. Well with this series at least. I've been watching for the past half year or so, and this has been such an amazing journey. You guys do such a great job, and honestly I felt myself attached to these characters greatly, fearing for their lives at every twist and turn. Thanks for putting out such great quality content, and you've been a major inspiration for me as I play and run games of my own, while still polishing my skills.
I really liked this whole campaign! there was tension all the time and I really feel like we missed a lot of potential storylines with the faction choices veo sebastian and pluto made. I would absolutely love a drakkenheim book!
Thank YOU for such an entertaining and enjoyable campaign - FANTASTIC gaming - makes me wish I could sit at the table with you. Best Holiday wishes - see you all “in the shadows”!
This was the best streamed campaign I've seen. Better than critical role, dimension 20, or any of the other creators or channels I've followed. Thank you!
re-watching more than a year later and LOVING it -- matching Drakken Force t-shirts, original comments about "please produce a Drakkenheim book", satisfying character arc conclusions, epic battles, and so much more
Just finished binge watching and catching up with this first series after having loved The Shadows of Drakkenheim! Forward into The Fate of Drakkenheim! A huge thank you to all of you ❤️
I finally caught up to the series only to find out that it was the end of season one. "Everything has an end but only a sausage has two ends" - Veo (Lord Commander of Drakkenheim). P. S - I started with the first episode whe and you began but took few hiatus inbetween. And after all that a big thank you to the cast, supporting members and the DM for this amazing journey. I learned to DM from you people as your channel came up just about the time I started my first Dnd campaign as a DM. I was inexperienced but with your knowledge and gameplay had some amazing time and now I am going to DM my second campaign around the same time when the season 2 starts and I hope to continue to learn from it. I was waiting for a long time till I catch up to join the patreon so see you soon now on the discord.
DUNGEONS OF DRAKKENHEIM is coming to Kickstarter in 2021! We’re partnering with Ghostfire Games to publish the complete adventure for Fifth Edition. Sign up at www.drakkenheim.com to get the latest updates!
2:52:50 - 2:53:30 season 2 when?
Can’t wait to throw money at you guys!!!
Into the shadows!!!
Rest in peace Jupiter Jones you fought bravely like a true Caspian. This has been an incredible campaign to watch and I cant wait to watch Shadows as well!
Pour one out for a real one.
Pluto: We killed everything up to this point.
*Big Linda wants to know your Location*
They could wreck big linda now. That was like 4 levels ago and they still got her down to 30hp
Monty’s Rat King speech had me scared and sad at the same time. Can’t wait until next year. You guys are amazing
Sebastian "Pluto, the bomb kills everyone."
Pluto "So do I."
So gangsta🤣
Pluto Counterspelling a counterspell countering counterspell was the best thing I've seen in a LONG time 🤣
Pluto Jackson's new portrait art is amazing. 👌
Seriously, D&D (the show-runners of GoT) would have been better off writing their plots by playing this kind of D&D.
Could not have said it better. Completely true
100% this - a bunch of (very talented) friends playing around a table absolutely smashing the writing of million dollar TV shows and movies. There has to be a lesson about how the world works in this fact somewhere.
Thank you for 150+ hours of great entertainment! Can't wait for next season!
Yes yes yes
New healer, Lucretia Mathyias
You’ll be missed, yes yes yes :’(
Before that, he also killed a throneroom worth of eldritch demon abominations.
I know, but a Throneroom of Sibriexes sounds much better on a resume than 1 Sibriex and a few little melted guys. You gotta make yourself sound more qualified, ya know.
@@westonhudiburgh5786 Guess we basically mean the same thing.
Wife: childs at school... we have whole house at our selves... So... wanna do something? Winks at me...
Me: Let’s binge last two episodes of Drakkenheim.
Total gigachad move.
This is a great series you guys and also I'm glad you finally finished the first mission from the first episode 🙌🙌🙌 😁
Episode 1 hint... Kill the Rat Prince!
FRRRRR
"Dont cross our names off just yet." That line gave me chills.
Sean...remember rule #1, which is... 'Don't say things like that out loud, it gives the DM ideas!!'
Lol.
Have a great break, and I'm so happy I stuck it out even when I started 30 episodes behind.
confirmed Katarina Vonkessell is carmen sandiego
Omg you're so right!!
Instantly got that very same mental image when Monty gave the description.
Where in the world is Katarina VonKessell? (it's so very close syllabically as well, only one off!)
Kelly here, as soon as he described her I totally pictured Carmen Sandiego as well. I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of her.
"Take everyone else" - Pluto Jackson.. a true hero.
No words could accurately convey my heartbreak at the rap Prince confrontation in the beginning here
This has been an absolutely fantastic run. So glad I stumbled across this channel when I first got back into D&D back in 2018. Ya'll have a Merry Christmas, or Hannukah, or whatever Holiday you want to be merry with, and a Happy New Year! Go Drakken Force!!!
"Only a sausage has two ends."
-Veo Senja
😂🤣😂
It's a German saying: Everything comes to an end, only the sausage comes to two.
Glad the crew turned out in full uniform for this one. The occasion is momentous enough to warrant it.
When the Rat prince got mad and gave his speech I peed a little lmao
FINALLY CAUGHT UP!! Just in time for next season!! Y’all are amazing! Monty, you’re a wonderful story teller and I love your NPCs; Jill, Joe, and Kelly, I love your RP and decisions. I love watching you guys play. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.
Dudes and Dudette, thank you for the best entertainment on UA-cam.
I looked forward to spending a few hours with you every week.
And thank you to Monty for being a phenomenal storyteller, really making the story come to live! Incredible work!
don't you just love those campaigns where you meet the final boss in the first session?
Amazing, "Hit points as opposed to 130?" "let me double check," *heart stops*
I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this campaign. Perhaps my favorite part was that it was impossible to choose a favorite character between the three of you. I hope next campaign one of you plays a healer so you don’t have to rely so much on potions, haha.
I am especially looking forward to Joe’s new character, as I felt that Pluto’s intelligence/charisma didn’t allow him to be as witty and verbose as he could be.
Can’t wait to meet the new characters! Until then, enjoy your time off and Happy 2020!
This Story Is a must. I was committed to this story from day one, and the chance to play this myself would be a Godsend.
Just finished and love the story! As a forever DM it’s nice to go through a story and get hit with surprise and see how choices resolve!
I’d buy a sourcebook.
same, no doubt
Absolutely!
As would I
I bought it
I'm not sure that this was intended, but I find it amusing that your last show of the year involved killing the Rat Prince as a tribute to the Nutcracker!
My Dudes/Dudettes,
My wife and I have just finished watching this season and I want to say a big thank you for the effort you've all put into providing this for us all.
"Can you drink and walk?" :D :D :D
If Sebastian didn't say, "What's the worst that could happen?" things could probably be worse.
Just gonna let you know, episode 51 is not actually in the Playlist for your Dungeons of Drakkenheim playlist.
Really minor, but figured it was worth mentioning.
Outside of that, between Critical Role and you guys, I've been hard pressed to find another decent Campaign. Most of them tend to devolve into "How hard did I hit it?" Or "It's cool, so I'll allow everything."
You are also the only two that actively attempt to correct your mistakes, or adjust for what suits your own game.
Pluto: the himbo we never deserved and always kept me laughing
Late to the game here but man what a great campaign. This last battle was masterfully played by all of you. Gave me chills more than once. One of the best D&D channels out there.
one of the best campaigns out there, the right amount of everything that I like. I can always leave it and then pick it right up, and I think it's because it has a lot of rich material but recognizable enough to follow. I was waiting for the moment you decide to make some material people can use out of this. I totally want to steal so much of it that I would rather play on Drakkenheim itself... Well deserved vacations, dudes and friends. I'll be seeing you next year.
Buddy you stole the words out of my mouth! 😀
After I take a Long Rest (but not too long!) 😉
Thank you so much and we are so happy you enjoy the show, and that we have helped you enjoy the magic of D&D. Happy rolling.
strong fucking finish, mates. I have rarely been so goddamn immersed in a show and invested in the characters as with this story. Monty, your storytelling is next level and all of your roleplaying has surpassed any I've ever seen. Even capable of capturing emotional moments and making character bonds and relations feel authentic. Proper kudos.
So happy you enjoyed it!
Time to finish it up
TGIF but not that it's the last episode.
(Playing a campaign with Monty as the DM is now on my bucket list.)
Monty, your ability to tell a story and to keep 1000s of viewers (and the team) on the edge of our seats round by round and week by week is only matched by an amazing ability to bring NPCs to life with an unbelievable repertoire of voices... and a nearly perfect delivery when switching between different ones in conversations such as the Zone of Truth and the arguing mages in the tower.
What a trip, just binged this over the span of 10 days and my brain is swelling with theories! Absolutely legendary
Binged this series in a few weeks on double speed, amazing job everyone. I was hooked in the first few minutes of the first episode.
Lol)
Such a satisfying conclusion to the Rat Prince's story.
So glad you enjoyed the ride! Hope you continue to enjoy the journey!
Just watched the entire series in 2 weeks while off sick. Loved it. Thanks for all the hard work.
"I think i need a long rest"
Never has it been so true ...
Please be as good as it has been
Since I found this show it has been part of my daily routine for the past few weeks.
Just finished the campaign ... Now off to the next one!
Wow guys. Just finished all 52 episodes. Love the show. Perfect combo of masterful DMing and creative/fun characters who all role play like champs. Despite having DM'd for over 20 years now I have learned so much watching you guys. Thank you all!!!
Just finnished my 6th rewatch of this series :) counted nat 20 and 1 rolled.
Nat 20:
Monty: 47
Vao: 20
Pluto: 16
Sebastian: 9
Nat 1:
Monty: 19
Vao: 15
Pluto: 8
Sebastian: 9
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed the binge.
That new character art is sick!
I’m so happy to have gotten through this. I’m a getting your Drakkenheim books in hopes of running a campaign as amazing as this. To Monty, Kelly, Jill, Joe and Kyle thanks for inspiring me and many others in the darkness of fantasy!
I maybe 2-3years behind but binge watching is so good. The fears, the tears, the laughter, and the joy will be starting on the Shadows tomorrow!
Would have been awesome if he was a mid to high level ranger
God you made the rat prince so damn scary. I love it!
You guys rock this was my favorite dnd content by far this year.
Thank you Kelly, Monty, Joe, Jill and Kyle for doing this possible. It has been an amazing ride, fun to watch. I look forward to next season and untold stories.
Where in the world is Katarina VonKessel?? 12:27
I see what you did there...
So, on one hand, I am happy that I am all caught up, on the other, I NEED MORE. BRING ME THE SHADOWS OF DRAKKENHIEM
Thank you!
Their blood lust towards the queen of thieves know no bounds.
re-watching more than a year later and LOVING it -- matching Drakken Force t-shirts, original comments about "please produce a Drakkenheim book", satisfying character arc conclusions, epic battles, and so much more
Just finished binge watching and catching up with this first series after having loved The Shadows of Drakkenheim! Forward into The Fate of Drakkenheim! A huge thank you to all of you ❤️
Yes pls, would love to buy a drakkenheim module
