It's perfect as a comic but it may not translate into a perfect movie.
Except they need to make the villain actually something that work.

@@Convoy00X I mean, correct me if I'm wrong but other than that terrible Turtles Forever movie, I don't think we have ever gotten a movie with Karai in it before.
Actually, Karai was in the 2014 and 2016 movies.
Out of all the things people want to connect this to the original film, whether its the director, Henson suits, or original actors returning, the thing I want more than any other is if they'd bring John Du Prez back as composer. It seems a longshot, but his score in that first film was so amazing. He could get dark and emotional when necessary and leaning into those aspects for Last Ronin would be perfect. Just look at how his themes were used in that fan-made Last Ronin short. SO much emotional power from that score alone.
It doesn't need to be tied into the 90s or cgi imagi 2007 movies let alone the michael bay movies. because last ronin is supposed to be a scrapped alternate futre of the mirage heavily mirage content and the 90s film trilogy deviated from the source material to be like the 87 toon tv show and the cgi 2007 film is not connected thats inspired by the 2003 show cartoon and the films wasted the potential of baxter stockman and his mousers and wasted april and turtles fued with baxter fucking up their first lair injuring splinter fugitoid t.c.r.i alien utroms triceratons savanti romero renet raven shadowheart aka radiacl complete carnage karai purple dragons etc for chief sterns charles Pennington danny Pennington keno tokka and rhazar super shredder max winters tatsu lord norinaga and portuguese colonizer walker ? They blew their load skimming through the return to newyork arch the city at war and space saga arch for a cheap cash grab that ruined the turtles in cinema for decades.

I saw Judith Hoag at a pop culture convention in OKC last month. She still looks so incredible. She has aged very nicely and would be super foxy as an older April.
Screw her, she whined that the 1st movie had too much violence and tried to get them to remove it. Luckily, no one at that time listened to her. She doesn't deserve to be in an R rated turtles film.
@user-mq4xp1gq3q also page turco replaced her in the role in the sequels and on top of that why would you want last ronin to be a revival farewell film when the ship has sailed on that continuity deviating from mirage characters that are vital to ronin who deserves their own movies before mid ronin
Yeah they do not need to change anything! They can make it seem like a continuation of the 1990 movie but don’t change the overall story
Exactly but it’ll be hard due to studio interference and possible inside schemes. Look at the making of who framed Roger rabbit and the hell that film went through. The first TMNT movie was stellar because they were independent, had a great vision but no studio wanted to help them out. New Line Cinema is the GOAT for this, I’m surprised Lion’s Gate didn’t help them since they help just about anyone with filming (Mr jingles first thing that comes to mind)

It shouldn't even be connected to those movies have you even watched those old movies ? Or read the mirage source material and ronin books at the same time for one the series deviates from the mirage source material and go full blown 87 they do choreographed dance numbers and break out into a kata mid battle they use slap stick comedy and hand to hand combat and never use their weapons are deadly instruments but rather to trip and bludgeon april is adapted off her 87 toon version instead of being a tech computer engineer of baxters mousers baxter karai fugitoid and the purple dragons don't exist in the 90s trilogy baxters the main reason why the foot gets synjas and takes over nyc and in all.his film appearances he's been reduced to a fifth rate henchmen in the bay sequel and mutant meyhem killed off in the opening karai film appearance is another throw away henchwoman who adds nothing to the movie than being a merch for max winters and in the bay movies does really nothing and is upstaged by o.c. and 87 villains like Eric shacks krang bebop and rocksteady fugitoid the galactic federation and the triceratons doesn't even have a movie and they predates the creation of the tmnt and a tcri space opera tmnt movie would've made star wars and Jurrasic Park money if they didn't rush to make a cash grab sequel with secret of the ooze.
@@tyronleung5276 yes I have read the mirage books I thought it would be a cool idea to make it loosely connected to the 1990 movie or have the turtles look like that but not the whole trilogy just the first movie but either way the movie would probably be better if they just copy and pasted the comic to the screen blood violence great story yes Ik about the turtles I love the og comics even tho I was born in 2001 I grew up watching the 2003 show but I can inform you ik a lot about the tmnt
Yo what if the movie ends with the one of the turtles fixing to die like the splinter and donnie scene like right when the foot draws their bow and arrows and it’s like a shot of donnie “oh Shi-“ then movie ends and says end of part 1
A Live-Action Last Ronin Movie would prove that a Dark Live-Action TMNT Movie focusing on the 4 turtles including Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Leonardo would work.
Actually a faithful mirage tmnt movie would prove a dark tmnt would work in film because you have characters that were never given a proper portrayal or depiction because of studio mandated o.c. characters and incorporating in demand for the 1987 cartoon elements and characters. The last ronin doesn't prove that theres a hunger for desent game changing cinema last ronin is a cheap fast food meal equivalent of story telling filled with fan service nonsensical easter eggs egdgelord ideas and old ideas that should've been left in histories dust bin and it's a lazy its gimmick is that of member berries and nostalgia bate and copying off tropes we seen in other super hero media killing off the characters and replacing them with Carbon copy with new gimmicks like super powers and gary stew or mary sue trappings cheapening the characters the comic and the story we're invested in.
I definitely agree about a possible Lost Ronin verse. Could even be a way to include characters like Bishop or Venus

I think the cinematography could use inspiration from THE BATMAN as far as the look of the city!
And a bit of Bladerunner too cuz it's in the near future
I think they could use inspiration from the choreography of The Batman as well, the fast paced but clean fight scenes would fit well in the last ronin/tmnt themes

What Jonny Likens achieved is unprecedented. Have you watched the short from Speedokaggen as well? The fan-made scene from the last ronin? Highly recommend
They definitely should consult with him and bring him on. He already has the nostalgic design plus the upgraded faster attack movements.
I would like to see Guillermo Del Toro direct this, his experiences with creatures, special effects(both practical and CGI), action, R rating and comic book movies proves he can do this story justice.
How much would it suck if paramount had Micheal bay direct it

@jaylenjayden9305 the comic book and the movies we got don't mix and are polar opposites the movies deviate from the ninja assassin stuff and it became slap stick comedy like the 87 toon and deviated from the mirage source material and last ronin breaks mirage source material because it's using elements from 2003 show 2012 show idw comics like wearing clothing and the characters from the mirage lore that are apart of the ronin story never had their own movies to be developed

I think Matt Reeves would be a good choice as well. I think he’s known for shooting things on location.
This is a good list with such bare minimum requirements. They have no reason to get any of this wrong so hopefully production goes seamlessly. Great video. 💙❤💜🧡

I want to see a faithful adaption, but there is one change I honestly wouldn't mind them making: switching around the deaths of Raphael and Leonardo.
Make no mistake, The Last Ronin is amazing as it is, but does anybody else think that it should've been Raphael who died alongside Casey Jones rather than having Raph die fighting Karai? After all, Raph was the first turtle to befriend Casey, and it would've been poetic if they died together holding the line.
Also, Leonardo fighting Karai to the death instead would fit from a character standpoint because she's usually portrayed as Leo's rival and occasional love interest. In other words, Leo is the turtle Karai has the most history with, so when she breaks the truce and apparently kills Splinter, Leo would feel fundamentally betrayed because he'd trusted her, giving him more reason to go berserk. It would be very striking to see because it would be very out of character for Leo to lose it like that. And finally, Leonardo being the first turtle to die would be very symbolic as it would leave them without their leader, eventually leading to the destruction of the team.
Agree. It felt weird for me to see Leo instead of Ralph with Casey. And agree about the dramatic twist of Leo losing it and being the first killed.
@@barbomb91 Not that Raph getting himself killed by flying off the handle and Leo dying holding the line to save his loved ones doesn't work as it does line up with the characters. I just think it would've been better from a story perspective if Raph and Leon's death were switched around.
For one they didn't go for Raphael because he's most often portrayed in tmnt media as the first turtle to die because of his arrogance hot headedness and too quick to jump into a fight without a plan and his anger keeps him from being a skilled fighter to reach his untapped potential. leonardo and donatello and even casey are the main characters that actually manages to kill off shredder the three times he came back to life in mirage continuity donatello got off a couple of hits on shredder and saved his brothers from shredders suicide bomb and leonardo landed the killing blow and wounded him. Michaelangelo is more skilled than raph because he's a prodigy if he put his mind and focus on training he could surpass leonardo and master splinter

@sgauden02 last ronin didn't makes sense from the jump because it wanted to be a finale of mirage but breaks the continuity of that canon because casie marie shouldn't be able to be born and shadow jones is missing also baxter never worked for the foot the last we saw him his brain was inside a robot and he infected april with nano bots and donatello kept his robot body in storage and killed him baxter should have no idea who the shredder or the foot is or fugitoid fugitoid shouldn't be on earth and the utroms and leatherhead is missing so is renet
1990 TMNT absolutely rules!! I watched this movie all the time back in the day, such a good movie it really is!!!

I love how we ( as a audience/fans) have to explain how to make a moive that is nostalgic but not oversaturated with 90s themes. Love the last ronin❤

Few shots from the first 1990 movie that I did like were their pupils are averted in the dark, which I find to be cool looking. We get to see pupils and no pupils, which adds more like the comics and more emotion in the turtles. A good blend of both worlds like the first movie and 2012 series.
maybe the should commit to a trillogy that covers the Last Ronin and the Lost Years. if they nail that then there's a platform for spinoff material.

I agree with ALL of your points! But... i dont think they will bring back any of the old cast, big names help sell movies. BUT i would also like a Theatrical version at the cinema AND later a nice long extended version on their streaming site, they make double the money and we get more of the movie they couldnt squeez into a theatrical movie.
Pretty sure you covered it. I would like to see some fights like on the show "Reacher", cause Alan Ritchson was a Turtle, and the action scenes are pretty damn good and very believable.
Great ideas! I dont know if they could pull Judith back to play April, from what ive heard she wasnt very happy about her role, but it would be awesome if they bring Elias Koteas back to play Casey

I would love to see great writers and directors like Nolan, and Raimi to take on TMNT The Last Ronin and on top of that Zack Snyder's Cinematography method.
Or you can just give it to an up and coming director whose vision fits the story.
For one christopher nolan doesn't care about comic books and I.P.'s he only cares about doing original projects in his body of works his batman movies declined with dark knight rises which was a terrible finale in the trilogy. batman begins wasn't even his movie that was Daren arronofsky and frank millers scrapped batman year one movie rewritten for nolan to direct his trademark isms onto and Sam rami didn't write the spiderman movies he just directed the films style with his evil dead flare on the spiderman movies which took the skeleton of rewritten scrapped ideas from the joe zitto & james cameron script and the fox kids 90s animated series episodes plot for plot and Sam Ramis dr strange and the multiverse of mid was terrible.

Less of a "want" and more of a curiosity of mine which can be applied both to the movie and the game:
How are they gonna handle the Ronin's identity?
Will it be upfront or a mystery like it was in the comics?
If it's the latter, then...how?
The Ronin's being followed by the spirits of the dead ninja turtles, it would be pretty difficult to keep who he is a secret now that voices are a part of the picture.
I guess that they could either:
A) Have it so that the voices of the 3 turtles are all distorted/jumbled and mashed together so that the audience can't tell who's talking, or
B) Have the Ronin talk to them without them appearing or speaking until after his identity is revealed.
It'll be interesting either way, I'm just wondering how they'll do it.
Hell, if option B is chosen for the game, it would be a cool option to actually see the Turtles being there in a New Game + or something like that.

I can see 2.25 hours being a solid time frame for everything. Flash backs for the turtles down fall which would be the easiest way to keep it in a digestible time length and yet keeping the story together with everything needed or perhaps just go through the events chronologically which will be harder because you’ll have to skip certain moments that were crucial for the weight of the situation
Theres no proper chronology in the last ronin and doesn't make sense narrative wise and isn't fair to the supporting characters or the antagonist villains of the story because you havent build up to them to even have a vendetta on the turtles. karai was just created during the 90s trilogy in the city at war story she was not an orroku she was a higher ranking foot jonin over shredder whos a chunin and picked to lead the american branch of the foot she gets involved with the turtles if you're trying to make this a revival of the 90s movies shredder doesn't have any biological children he's an incel and gets himself put in situations that should kill him like falling off a 30 ft brownstone into a garbage compactor and finishing himself off knocking a dock on top of himself. No mirage characters like baxter stockman purple dragons no fugitoid in this timeline how are they gonna pull it off if you fumbled their cinematic adventures to grounded t.c.r.i saga with bebop and rocksteady knockoffs and a time travel story with no renet or savanti romero????
Composer is the easiest question for me to answer. Le Matos (Turbo Kid, Summer of 84). Director is a bit harder, but since this is fantasy anyway, I'll go with Gareth Evans, and his action team from The Raid films.
Excellent wish list! The only thing I would add is for The Last Ronin would serve as a legacy film to the first three live action films. I'm not the biggest fan of 3, but they can still be loosely tied. The first Deadpool movie referenced the Marvel events before DP was MCU. It can be done. Just my 2 cents

Honestly though, do you think it's cool to murder all of our favorite heroes in a half shell in the first mature Rated TMNT live action? 💀 Just think about it for sec. We should have gotten the Trisaratons as the bad guys or the federation fugitoid gritty comic adaptation first? Just like the MCU. The most popular arcs. Rebooting like this?

for one you already have fan service for the 90s films in mutant meyhem and the michael bay movies what there hasn't been in the movies is the mirage comics and choosing the last ronin as the direction to go in is a bad idea for your first r rated tmnt film choice when last ronin features characters that don't even have the cinematic build up and when they did feature in the previous cinematic outtings they were wasted as glorified cameos or lack luster henchmen that didn't contribute to the story cause you have studio mandated o.c. characters put in the forefront
If they're concerned about runtime, film both films back to back. It makes more financial sense to set out on make a four to five hour film. Assuming production could find a way to blend practical suits and CGI may bring the budget down. I can't think of any specific names, but for the score I would look for a Japanese/anime composer. I'll forever be a sucker for Yuki Kajiura.🙈
You know in the book the Last Ronan got bigger than what we envisioned what he used to look like before his mutation. In the first movie and other adaptations he is smaller than his brothers, but this time he is bigger than his brothers because of his mutation. So this next movie, we should see him being that big

I wanna see a more buff and agile turtle.....not too sure about the rubber suit but if it works it works.....all new songs for the movie soundtrack, like a few older ones that are iconic to the original but new tracks as well😊

I completely agree about how the fighting scenes should be kill bill/John wick style would be awesome the one thing I might add would be that the turtles fighting style may change due to his further mutation being more bulky. Might take the strength up and speed down. Id love to see the last Ronin raph story play out on the big screen that would be epic to see done well. Need a few dark rooftop scenes too 😂
Honestly they can mix the two types together. Make you rubber suits, but do the faces in CGI, like Marvel did.
I just want this movie to be good, I also wouldn't say no to Elias Koteas making a cameo, he doesn't need to be Casey necessarily just a small cameo.

I've said for years, the number 1 thing I want is, whoever worked on Season 1 of the Netflix Daredevil, that's who I want to do the next live action Turtles project.

I agree with the old stuff because that's where I grew up on when I was younger I used to watch the movies every day because I had them and still have the old ones and of course the new ones but I believe the old ones are a little better
I never thought about this, but if they actually do the movie mainly from the flashback perspectives first where all the brothers are together and end on the culmination of the Last Ronin, we'll actually get a Turtles' movie and not just a Turtle remembering stuff. However, this means that a sequel must be set in order, and it must be based on the prequel of the #1 issue and onwards, where the Ronin is far from the city and finally embarks on his quest. But hope can get you so far in Hamada's hands.....

The comic itself ain't comic accurate to mirage tmnt and breaks continuity and makes zero sense and it's not going to be to a T like 300 the killing joke the long halloween or watchmen v for vendetta and all of those has changes in them .
I cant wait as a real deadpool fam since xforce #2, circle chase,xmen cards series I n II, xmen the 90s cartoon and joe kellys solo deadpool run. Hope it hits a billion or 2.and it becomes its own trilogy ;)

I'm agreeing with many of the things u said in this video, mostly that they need to stick to the source material, a previous voice actor should voice him, the movie should be 3 hours long, a theatrical release would be amazing, and I love the costume / puppet ideas.
I think that the main cast should all be from previous versions, for example if they brought back Ben Schwartz as Leo or Greg Cipes as Mikey, that'd be pretty cool.
The only one that I'm skeptical of is the end credit scene one, I think they need to focus on this movie and not sequels.

If they split it into two parts, they should do what the IT movies did and have the flashbacks take up the entirety of Part 1, and Part 2 being the present day. I didn't like how the Ronin's identity was revealed at the end of the first issue, so telling the events chronologically would make it more of a surprise to newcomers.
Do the same video but for the Black Forest game.
If you've seen THE BATMAN, then you probably would agree that Michael Giacchino would be the best person to do the soundtrack for this movie.
For one judith hoags april is not roninverse or mirage april shes the 87 toon april and not the baxter stockman employee in ai engineering robotics or pest control

I, personally need Gareth Evans (The Raid Saga & Gangs of London - watch the trailer for that TV show) to direct this film. The violence is super important to tell this story. Again, with him directing... just imagine those fight sequences in The Raid film with Turtles. Amazing if done right.
The 2014 film was supposed to be raid redemption martial arts guess what we got instead of that

For one his idea is terrible if you go back and review the 90s trilogy and compare it to the mirage source material and the roninverse I guarantee you his idea is terrible choice.
I think definitely keep to the original 'The Last Ronin' story, minimize the CGI. I don't think they should look like the turtles in the original 90's movie though. They should look bigger, leaner and edgy like in the comic. I just hope they don't mess it up.
