Really grateful for the time and effort you put in your channel, as a fresh architecture graduate, I'm struggling for getting a job and have been thinking how to spend my time other than reading and exercising. This video has truly inspired me and makes me want to get back on drawing and making my own art again, thank you so much
Very inspirational and I love the honesty in sharing what you really make, how you do it, and some of the learning curve behind all of this. Kudos to you Sir.
minute 18:00 and so . literally my case, been drawing since a kid, I'm really good at it, but never monetized that, this inspires me to sell mine. thank you Henry!
Thank you very much for opening up like this and for the transparency. I have no idea how to draw but I am attracted to art and business, really inspiring.
Thank you so much for sharing this and for your channel. I am also an immigrant architect., graduated maybe even before you were born LOL and haven’t practiced in 20 years but I am looking at a way go back to architecture, to build a portfolio and bring my skill sets up to date. I also grew up with a strong artistic upbringing as you did and I have sold my art at a very small scale. I think so should give Etsy a try.
I think this is by far the best video to describe one's journey to start business. Thanks a lot Henry, it feels amazing to discover your wholesome content. I feel so grateful. I am reading this book called The Go-Giver, suggested by you in some other video. It's truly inspiring to start something of my own. Just love the energy to spread knowledge around. Thanks a lot man, keep going!
Thanks so much . Am an emerging architect myself and loves digital art. I have been wanting to seek my art for a while now and I think this is enough motivation to enable me start . Thanks so much Henry!!
Brilliant! I have alot of hand drawings as an interior design student my self, and don't know what exactly can i do with all of it, thanks... Love the addressing and delivery of yours btw, wish you all luck.
@@mikenoneofyourbusiness7122 Helpful as in other people provided you some of their successful experiences that were the options and possibilities you never think that would work. As well as learning how you see chances and monetize them. I’m Not selling the exact same product but similar, art related. My sales are not the direct result only from this particular piece of information. It’s a combination of multiple very useful advices. I always appreciated people willing to share what’s the potential out there and always humble myself to listen. Because I know "One cannot learn what they think they already know" - Epictetus
"Architects & interior designers are heavily underpaid"........ The truth has been spoken. Here in India architects get peanuts. Fresher architect gets around ₹12,000/- -15,000/- while in cities like Mumbai even minimum rent is ₹10,000/- per person.
Same here in the philippines. Architects and Interior Designers and Artists are underpaid and unappreciated. I really hope they get to give importance to designers and artists.
Thank you Henry! It was very helpful and insightful and almost every aspect cleared my thoughts to help me set myself in the right path. More than the revenue (which is the goal) I find the process of building and achieving the goal much more striving. And for you to share, with all of us, your path to where you are now is, for me, more precious. I am grateful. PS: I have normal printer (of standard sizes), can you guide me on to which is the best paper for prints?
Thanks for the kind words Miguel. Hard to decided for you...but if you are printing for art, start with a heavy stock and try it out. I experimented with a few different types before settling on one from Amazon.
Hi Henry, thanks for the video! Similar to other comments here, I’d be also curious to know more about how you take care of fulfillment. Previously, I was using a combo of Gumroad and Printful, but not for prints. Any info on that would be helpful, cheers!
Hi Henry, Thank you for sharing your videos. I have a friend that has a small construction company. I make for him some construction plans for two decks (12'X12') and on small addition around (20'X12') the proposed of the drawings was pull theirs construction permit from the county. So, I get the construction permit for this small projects. Now some other carpenters are requesting me the same services. This can become a side income. I wondering, How should charge for this services ?. Plans + pulling permit. ( for this small project an Architect license is not required. ) Thank you.
This is hard to advise on! My suggestion is to charge a project rate with profit baked in. Only you know how much time you need to complete a project, which is always more than you budget for, therefore having some wiggle room is recommended.
You are doing awesome stuffs as an architect. I love that you share your workflow and techniques. After watching a couple of your videos, I was thinking of taking the plunge to get an ipad pro too. But I was wondering what your ipad pro specs are? Is it the 12.9 inch with 512gb? Or will 256gb with cloud suffice?
Everybody looks nervous and tense on camera, he’s not that bad! Why bother indicating, it’s not nice. Would you come up to someone on the street and tell them to relax? You’d get punched for saying something insensitive like that right away! Stop your trolling! I bet, your uggly face needs fixing a lot more! Jеrk…
Love hearing the story of why you draw and seeing your childhood travel photos 🫶📐

What device and program do you use to sketch your drawings?
Great 😍😍.
Brilliant and inspiring, thank you! What procreate brush(es) do you use to create your beautiful drawings.
In the description you can find links to download
1:31, its showing a page @nd in there bottom below there is written 'You brought 23% of visits'. Ny query, how you did that?
at the time, probably Instagram and UA-cam mention...

It’s the same process for prints on Printify. Set price and variation. The product is automatically synced to Etsy.
I wanted to do something like this. Your video motivated me. Thank you 🙏
Do you have further detailed videos in how to do this?
Not yet!
@@HenryGao Thank you
So, how much did you make so far in the past 8 months?
@@mikenoneofyourbusiness7122 nothing. Still practicing. I don't think I'm ready yet.

@@HenryGao Thank you for answer so fast. Yes, it is tricky. Well, I gest it is trial and error. Thank you again.
Does printify fulfill prints? Or just mugs\shirts\etc? It would be nice if I could drop ship prints within the US (I'm outside the US)
Yes they do, same process as mugs and others

128 GB is more than enough for my needs. Everything lives in cloud. I don't have much installed on my iPad.
@@HenryGao Hey Henry, thanks for the reply.. Sounds great! With the apple keynote just over, I will get my hands on one! Appreciate it.
Just get the best you can afford for a Pro version with pencil. Those are all fantastic! Procreate is the best bloody app.
What printer do you recommend to print your drawings for sale?
A quality canon inkjet printer, less than $500 should do the job
Best UA-cam Influencer! 6/12/23
What is the software you use to make that art?
I hand draw, does that answer your question?
Thanks so much Henry. From another poor architect!
Not poor, only passionate!
Do you actually work as an architect? They get paid extremely well!
Good content. Did the rising popularity of AI generated art impact your business in any way?
That’s a good question I can’t tell for now
Just noticed that you alway frown in front of the camera…..please relax more….
