The best part of the 2016 presidential election is Stephens Hunger Games parody coverage of it.
Unfortunately it's not really a parody
+Sixth Jayhawk Rock Chalk
+Sixth Jayhawk - Yup. Me too!
The irony of Jim Webb complaining about not getting his 10 minutes and this video being 9:59
LMFAO
I cannot imagine being in Chafee or Webb's position, running for president, polling at close-to-zero, and being ridiculed on national television. That being said, I'm not American and it was HILARIOUS.
+SkitHertz Still more famous than 50+ other senators/governors. At least now they both made to national TV.
+Le Di Chang yeah, but for the most staunchly diplomatic internationalist in the race (Chafee) to have been nothing more than a ridiculed sideshow while actual warmongers continue to earn adoration sits pretty poorly with me. Then again, that's what we've always done; we Americans always blame our leaders for being such bellicose hawks while we readily embrace the narrative that portrays peace, diplomacy, and cooperation as weakness and might as greatness. Whomever we get as the next president will probably kill a lot of innocent people unnecessarily, just like all the previous, and we'll all pretend it wasn't our fault in spite of it all.
+Fyodor Dostoyevsky I thoroughly enjoyed Notes From The Underground, The Dream Of A Ridiculous Man, & White Nights. ;)
+Fyodor Dostoyevsky: YAY!!!!!! 🎆🎁🎋🎉🎊🎈👍✌️👏💪👌🌟😈
+SkitHertz They were planted there for filler only. The Dems don't wannna blow their load too early with a Sanders vs. Clinton title fight when there's a 12 man cage match going on.
The Hunger Games producers must be happy with this bit. I feel like people have kind of forgotten about the franchise even though there's still a movie left.
There's still a movie left?
+Brendan Beckett they keep reminding us that their four movies are not nearly as entertaining and fun as these bits by Colbert by shoving the awful looking trailer for Mockinjay in every single NFL game.
***** Obviously. I was saying even more, maybe even paid
this character is straight up savage haha love it
I seriously hope you flash someones names and face on the ceiling of your dome every time a presidential candidate drops out of the race between now and the general election.
+ArchAngelThomas That is the point of this recurring bit.
+ArchAngelThomas It's been happening for a few weeks for the Republican drop outs too, check them out, it's funny
+Demauscian but he did the whole trilogy: hungry for power games,Chafee-ng Fire and walkingjay
telle tabyy
telle tabyy
I really hoped Stanley would put the wig on, but oh well :D
+Mario Krastanov Yeah I was really hoping he was gonna finish the bit for Colbert.
oh, stephen, did you have to be so brutal? I could almost hear whats their names sobbing all the way here in canada.
ha
+Los Blancos Nah I felt in England
+Dhruv Mistry I felt in India.
+Los Blancos The moistness of their tears reached Australia.
I think he did need to be this brutal. People need to be more realistic when thinking of running. Though I don't know if anyone gave those guys any money to waste, so maybe it doesn't matter.
"unfortunately Americans didn't give 2.5 MilliShits!!" LOOOLLL!!
I waited all week for this.
+Liam Arnold Same :D
me three😀
+Liam Arnold It's the first thing I thought of when I heard the news ha
+Liam Arnold ...........Hair today, gone tomorrow?
+Liam Arnold - Me too!
Stanley Tucci! What a wonderful surprise.
I wanted Stephen to bring this back for the 2020 election. I re-watch these often and they always make me smile
THIS IS THE BEST COLLAB EVER.
Stephen Colbert > Jimmy Fallon
By a huuuge margin!!
+Zenzele Nikwe Of course, that is why he has more subscribers on UA-cam and has a much larger T.V audience. Don't get me wrong, I like both but Jimmy Fallon has a bigger fan base
+Adhiraj Sharma Insulting people for having a different preference than you, so smart.
Internet fight started.
Don't bring shame to the Colbert Nation by dissing others openly.
Colbert is a savage 😂😂😂
This character is so good. You can see he's having so much fun playing it
damn colbert, you brutal
ouch hope those former candidates don't watch this. I do agree we should go metric though, its annoying having to remember all the conversions =.=
"We don't give a milishit"
+boredstephanie If you look closely, you can see that many American products have both metric and imperial units on the labels. Which, to me, is the most American solution there is: just put all the information on there and let each American be free to decide for themselves what they prefer to use and when.
+boredstephanie If you have a smartphone then just look it up. The conversions are right in the search bar. The same goes with Google Translate.
+Frank M
Obviously, her point was that you standardize on metric - you don't need to do any of that. It's simply a completely useless attribute of a measurement system to require such conversions. The fact that it can be automated is not an argument to keep hanging on to an old and inconvenient fossil.
+Gnomefro Although that 'inconvenient fossil' sure comes in handy when trading with the economic powerhouses of Liberia and Myanmar!
jim webb probally dropped out because he didnt get his 10 minutes
and then he probally said wheres my time I got no time I want to speak and when they said okay speak he said im out
NOW I remember him!
How sad... most people get 15 minutes of fame. Poor Jim.
Ah, he did get his 15 minutes of fame...he was elected to lead the Virginian government.
STEPHEN COLBERT 2016
holly shit!!! Stephen is fucking killing it!!
Favorite segment. So genius
JULIUS TRINKET 2016
Thank god! I missed the shit outta these videos!
It's clear everyone's dropping out because they suffered from 3rd degree Berns
District Grumpy and District Horsey... Stephen you are making my sides hurt from laughing too hard
He's less Stanley Tucci, more Graham Norton.
+PurushaDesa Graham Norton was inspiration for Stanley Tucci to play Caesar Flickerman
Martin Šriber
Source that. I really hope that's true.
PurushaDesa It was in episode of Graham Norton Show, where Tucci was guest.
Whoever designed his costume deserves a raise
I love when Stephen does this bit.
"One guy from the waist-up" LMAO
It's almost like The Colbert Report never ended (damn Stephen Colbert's ego came back)!
That ending at brilliant!! Glad you're back Colbert lol
It's great to see Colbert put his background in theater to use on such a large scale.
"For legal reason, I don't know who the character Ceasar Flickerman is." OMG this line floored me!
Awww, JK Simmons dropped out too. Now who's going to stand up against the menace of Spider-Man?
Ouch, this segment was just savage! Stephen looks like he's having so much fun with this character.
Hey, I was Webb's supporter.
Let's be honest, you weren't
Lofangas You think I'd make that up to look cool? I was!
+aperson22222 Hope Webb reads the UA-cam comments!
Lofangas In '04 I was a Gephardt man. After he got knocked out in Iowa and retired from politics, I wrote him a letter expressing my admiration. Never heard back from him.
I also backed McCain in 2000 and liked Huntsman in '12. I don't have good luck with this stuff.
+aperson22222 That's pretty unlucky!
You know what he would do very well in Mockingjay-Part 2.
And by he I mean Stephen.
3:02 "I'm ... not going away."
Poor guy. :(
God damn! I first saw some memes from colbert report. And now I can't get enough of this. Fking hilarious mr. Colbert
This is one of my favorite Colbert segments. GENIUS!
Stephen you savage
Stanley Tucci is fabulous!
Spotlight, going to look into this
Thank you
We need a show with Conan's monologue, Fallon's games, Kimmel's celebrity tweets, and Steven's commentary and interviews.
I like sandwiches A super latenight all-star show!
I'm ready for 2020 election of the hungry for power games!!!
Late Show please bring this back lmfao
this recurring segment has to be one of the best ones we have ever seen on late night right ?
I actually thought the "stained glass" ceiling was actually painted on. Had no idea it was merely the work of a projector..
incredible stuff. well done colbert.
its scary how well stephen does this impression
am I the only one that thinks colbert should have played Caesar flickerman in the movies
While I was watching this I was literally just thinking that Stanley Tucci should come on the show😂😂
So glad you are back on air. Please, no more vacations.
I really hope this segment continues, please keep it going.
Stephen reminds me of Graham Norton in these segments.
This is why I love Stephen! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
omg this is the best! i love this character!
I actually considered him solely on a campaign of switching to metric.
Brilliant!!!!
District Grumpy and District Horsey. Love it XD
Fantastic!!!!!
"I was just walking down broadWAY"
LOL
District Grumpy and District Horsey!
Haha district grumpy and district horsey.
Love you Stephen!
6:05 me asf cussing at school
District Grumpy and District Horsey!
Ah, I was worried we weren't going to do this skit again, I'm happy to be wrong!
Stephen you SAVAGE hahahahaha!! I love it xD!
Best segment ever!!
my God. I couldn't stop laughing at the end.
THIS WAS GREAT!!!!
I was waiting th whole week for this!
This is the best thing on television right now.
YES!!!¡¡¡!!! He included Larry Lessig!!! Bern all day, but it's only fair. GET MONEY OUTTA POLITICS.
I noticed too! #LetLessigDebate
Inform The People/#Bernie2016 YES
+Filmmaker J Fuck him. Including his image in a pool of faces for half of a full second does not make for an informed electorate.
John Doe Yea, but it's not like Colbert is Debbie Wazzzzerman-Schultz...
Filmmaker J Diversion, irrelevant, Wasserman-Schultz has nothing to do with Stephen Colbert's conduct. Colbert should still pay for his crimes and complicity in crimes against democracy.
That whole thing is awesome! I love it!
The production quality... it's going to be dramatic as fuck when the important ones start dropping out.
Damn Stephen missed a week full of excitement
Star Wars trailer
Back to The Future Day
Mets/Royals in the World Series
Would of been awesome to see him cover all that.
Gold!
District Grumpy and District Horsey LOL
That was great!
Mocking native advertising! I love it.
genuinely quite sad that lincoln chaffee dropped out... he was like a skinny tall teddy bear
I'm always coming back to this video simply because of his joke at 04:13
I am the only one to get Stanley Tucci and Mark Strong mixed up when I see one of them in a movie.
I love it!!
lolololol this is one of the best bits on tv
What a great bit.
this was brilliant
"Out of 100 people, he had the support of one guy from the waist up."
Holy shit I am CRYING. I feel like Colbert was nearly about to break at that line too. I hope whoever wrote that one took the rest of the week off.
My favourite part is "District Grumpy" and "District Horsey."
Yes I can now not be bored out of my mine listening to news stuff
brutal af 😂
This show now is without a doubt the best late night show.
I love this! Stanley and Stephen
Damn this guy is the best!!
This has the be one of the greatest bits of all time
This guy is a genius!
Stephen is the best
Poor Lincoln. He reminds me of the guy on a sit com whose wife threw him out at Thanksgiving so you invite him over to your house so he won't be lonely and it's kind of awkward but you feel like you have to because he's the copier repair guy at work. And you trust him sleeping on your couch because he's not a scumbag or anything.
