Your comments about night hunting affording hunters more time to persue the sport is right on target. With our coyote season overlapping the whitetail seasons... night hunting is pretty much the only way to persue coyotes without really annoying the guys sitting in their whitetail stands. I can't think of anything more annoying to a whitetail hunter than someone starting up a wounded animal distress call on an adjacent property during that primetime dusk/dawn whitetail stand after he's waited all week or taken vacation time to chase that trophy buck. Hunting coyotes after dark gives us the opportunity to hunt without conflicting with other types of hunting.
With these coyotes killing calves around here, I wouldn't care when you hunted them. We bought this farm 6 years ago and I've seen 2 rabbits. We have a terrible problem.
Where I’m at in the North East, coyotes can only be taken at night during the month of January. Whitetail has been over for a while by that point. It’s nice having something to hunt in the winter when there’s very little else to target.
In Nebraska we aren’t allowed to carry a centerfire rifle during the Nov rifle deer season (about a week) unless you’re a landowner or have an unfilled deer tag. Gives those whiney deer guys something to do at least. Ha
I have a a friend who is an Iraqi veteran who loves yote hunting. Is there any way you men could possibly put together a a nice yote hunt with you all for him? Just thought I would throw that out there. He is such a wonderful respectful young man.
Just stumbled across this channel, had no idea Rick was on a tv show. I learned how to call coyotes watching him and Randy Anderson DVD’s, not gonna say how long ago that was!
Looks like fun. My wife really hopes Night hunting never comes to alberta. She will never see me.😜 But it’s alberta so probly gonna be a while. Just to be able to use a AR would be nice.🎉 Nice Job as always boys. Just working on your podcast. loving it! Hunting tips and Ricks stories are awesome!😂😂😂 I say we all start calling Rick “Ciyote”😊
Hunting in cold weather must be murder on your batteries. Both the thermal units and the callers. How often does that mess with your stands? Meaning, how often do the units malfunction or quit at a bad time?
I always like to take the closest thing to a guarantee which is the closest coyote...for most guys a running shot is tough whether it's 100 yards or 200 yards.
That was fun to watch you guys, I’ve been setting some money aside for my first thermal scope, any suggestions for me on what brand to go with? I was leaning towards the ATN brand? Thanks I’m advance.
It's not near long enough. Still have a lot of guys calving into April. Hopefully the tack April onto the end of the season for 2024. Doubtful anything will get done for 2023. I'd also like to start as soon as October but that's a pipe dream.
Awesome fun. Within the month here I am going to buy my first thermal optic. Geoff, could you shed some light on what optics you are using? I’m trying to decide if I really need the 640x480 res and what magnification is effective out to 200 to 250. Also your thoughts on binocs and other useful hardware for supporting your hunt. Pulsar, ATN and AGM are in my budget range but it’s tough to sort through and decide on if you have never had anything to compare with. Especially at these price points. Thanks!
The thermals I run are in that $5-$6k range. I know there is good stuff cheaper but the picture quality isn't as good. Seems like you definitely get what you pay for with thermals. I would definitely try and find one with a built in rangefinder...gamechanger!
Rick has some higher end ones but I don't know the brand! I'm just running an old Manfrotto tripod I used to have for filming and then a hog saddle. I'm needing a new one though, so will probably get something like Rick's with the swiss arca mount
You guys are awesome! Bagged my first furry yodeler via thermal last week here in Oregon on private property, such a rush! Question, I’m having to use a buddies call set up which is a FoxPro and I’d love my own setup and interested in a Lucky Duck call. Do you guys ever offer promo codes? Thanks for considering, and keep up the amazing content!
Depends on weather. If it’s calm and quiet, let it play loud for a half hour or more. If it’s windy, rainy etc, maybe 15 minutes. More than once, I have stood up after 20 minutes, and spooked a coyote down wind, and behind me. Keep at it, you will figure it out
I was listening to your podcast while driving to coyote hunt this last week and you said that in one winter you put 21k on your truck. I put 900 miles on my truck in the last 5 days and never called in one coyote. I did call in a bobcat and I guess I should have gotten a tag. By far my biggest obstacle is land access. I called public ground crawling with hunters and had a pretty big disappointment. The podcast always talks about Killing coyotes and I laugh of course the pros sponsored by the people who sell the gear are going to advertise successful At least I get to enjoy it through your videos. I just need to man up and meet some land owners. That is a real paradox though because I am out there to get away from people. It was very disappointing.
@@GeoffNemnich thanks Geoff for replying you seem like a good guy and I would like to take your class sometime. I even went to some of my best local spots yesterday and nothing. I think the warm weather and the full moon kind of messed it up. You do the work to get the spots scout them, and that is 50% of the reason for your success. I look up to you. I'll kill some. ill wait for montana to get colder. The big bugs haven't even died yet.
I would love for yall to come hunt Upstate New York with me, night hunting is where its at. Eastern Coyotes though are different, and a lot more pressured. open invitation any time
On one hand I hate to see them suffer. On the other hand, like the wild hogs, coyotes are not only a big problem, they reproduce like crazy. You have to get the young ones too.
Hey Jeff, like always great video but I don’t think that night Hunting is as good as daytime hunting it may produce more kills, but I think you lose a lot of the excitement of watching coyote, body language, watching the landscape and frankly, it’s just too much technology. When is enough enough from electronic callers scent, blocker’s rangefinders, better optics, accurate rifles, AR15’s coyotes stand no chance there is no challenge anymore but as long as he’s legal, I’m not judging anybody have at it have fun I’ll still watch your shows just the same he bring in the content
“Ohh they are so pretty animals why would you kill them” Own a farm and youll understand why these animals arnt as beautiful as you think they are, almost like bores, nothing but pests so why not get rid of em an have fun while your doing it ❤️❤️
Honest this is so sad to see, I really struggle to see any justification that isn't driven by ego or outdated tradition. Seeing an animal actually 'alive' surely is more interesting than dead.
I get a kick out of these sort of comments. Most of them are either Liberals or third-world people that are emotional driven vs. logical. Do some research on North American predators.
This is barbaric killing all those coyotes ...I can see killing them if they attack u or an animal on your farm or land ...but killing them just to kill them is overkill
Do you eat steak? Chicken? How about Turkey? Coyotes kill calves and loads of other farm animals. They are disgusting varmints that need to be killed. Every dead calf is worth thousands of dollars. A .223 round costs 40 cents.
I’m a gun owner, hunter, conservationist and one who care for animals. It’s disgusting to see that the old saying “ if you kill it, you eat” still means nothing to many people. Your show is shameful. One day, maybe you’ll be at the end of someone’s sights.
Definitely my favorite episode from you guys. I like the day hunting but the night hunts hit different. Happy hunting Geoff
Thx man 🍻

You bet, more time to get some killin in!!
My state Tennessee does not allow predator hunting at night I wish that will change soon

Great content! Awesome to see the thermal hunt!

Ffffinnnaaalllyyy!!! Haven’t even watched it but saw the word thermal
Great job!!! I didn't even think about how different it would be to try to film a show in the dark!!!!
That Thermal scanner has incredible footage quality
Great job again!!!
Love the night videos, definitely more expensive at night (ammo)....
Awesome guys !! Enjoyed it!! Thanks again!
Good Job Guys on another great video.
🍻
Great video . Definitely plan on watching more. ✌️
Thx man 👍
I don't know why, but watching them get shot with thermal is AWESOME! Especially the runners!

Hunting in cold weather must be murder on your batteries. Both the thermal units and the callers. How often does that mess with your stands? Meaning, how often do the units malfunction or quit at a bad time?
Not too much...I was changing batteries once a night about halfway through
This just looks like a blast. I want to go do that
Great sgooting fellas. Hey im lookimg into getting a suppressor and yours seems pretty quiet. What kind arr tou running? Thanks
love ya work lads.
🍻👍
looks like a lot of fun. what is your max range with those burris thermals?
Those Burris thermas are pretty low end so identification range isn't real good!
What thermal scopes do you guys use and what kind of bullets full metal jacket or soft point?
I would love to see you guys do some hunting in the Ozarks some time.
Why shoot the closest one first? If you get the farthest available one, the closer one has longer to escape and gives more time to get it?
I always like to take the closest thing to a guarantee which is the closest coyote...for most guys a running shot is tough whether it's 100 yards or 200 yards.
Good shooting! What caliber?
Thx man...im running a 223
Great video thank you ✌️🇦🇺

What brand of guns do y’all use and what caliber guns do y’all use
I run a Daniel defense mk12 in 223
WHICH OPTICS ARE YOU GUYS RUNNING?
Running pulsar now...the thermion 2 xp50 LRF
What's the thinking of Kansas only have a three month season for coyotes?
It's not near long enough. Still have a lot of guys calving into April. Hopefully the tack April onto the end of the season for 2024. Doubtful anything will get done for 2023. I'd also like to start as soon as October but that's a pipe dream.
Deer season is why the late start but don't know why they don't leave it open into April
Love the videos, what camera are you using to capture this?
all i see is fleas! good job!
What ball joint gun tripod do you use? I see in the background in the intro? Thanks
What caliber were you guys using?
223
Thermal is a game changer. Wish I cld get yall to Kentucky to do some close range hunting.
check out our channel! We're strictly thermal night hunting!! www.youtube.com/@FnFBoyz
What scopes y’all use and do you use silencers as well?
In the video we were running a bunch of different thermals...Pulsar, Trijicon, Fullmoon Optics. And yes, we've been shooting suppressors for years!!
ive never hunted before but i enjoy watching hunting videos and i was just wondering why do you hunt yotes other then like to protect your livestock?
I personally hunt them because it's a challenge and extremely fun!! As a bonus it does help out ranchers and other wildlife occasionally
What tripods are those?
I dont know, they were Ricks!
Ok thanks. That ball head looked easy to use.
We are just going to hunt everything to extinction 😂
Not coyotes!!!! 😁
What caliber are y’all hunting with.
223

My screen was all black at first. Thought I need a thermal scope to watch. Lol.
😁
Thermal hunting is fun but still doesn’t compare to a day time coyote. I do get more numbers with my thermal tho
I agree! 👊
NEED MORE

Great work!! No promo codes unfortunately but Rick will hook you up if you visit his website...Www.verminatorpc.com
I'd have a full set of mountain man clothing with all those yotes
💯🍻
Where can I purchase one of those coyotes fear me hoodies ?
Sure would be nice to know the brand of tripods…..🤔🤔🤔
I dont even know what brand Rick has...mine is just an old Manfrotto with a hog saddle
dude on the second hunt that second coyote knew how to dodge those shots
What’s y’all’s camera setup?
I dont know for sure...the camera guys bring their own stuff
How long should I leave my call on should I call them pause or just leave it going I have ben out a few times nothing yet ned some help

I let mine run continuously

They said 223
Any special reason you drag the carcasses back to your base camp rather than just leaving them for the scavengers to cleanup?
It’s illegal to leave game carcasses just out and about
@@kylelerie7325 that’s just not trye
Still feels odd living in PA and hearing about seasons to hunt coyotes when in PA you can hunt em anytime you want.
Try putting the call on an RC car with some rabbit pelts attached. Makes for easy adjustment during sets and less walking.
🤣
Heeyyy gip gip gip gip yep
What grip is on that tan AR?
We’re those deer running up that hill when all those two that time when there was all those coyotes
What do you guys do with the hides?
Make hats for vegans
The second double you can see like 5 more back behind them
Are all of you guys using .223's ?
WHAT is the price for coyote hides????????????????????/
Not good....maybe $5 a coyote this season if you're lucky!

Thx for listening to the podcast man!! I put on over 30k in months last fall/winter. Takes tons of ground to kill tons of coyotes!!

Terrible shooting. 😂
Do people not care about all the animals there killing but this I can’t
where does yo bacon , turkey and KFC come from?
Coyotes are menaces. They kill pets and livestock
Are coyotes rich? Because if they don't eat them, the only pests that should be eliminated are you.- You only kill what you eat
Killing predators to protect cattle, pets, or further farm animals is common practice. You don’t seem to actually know what you’re talking about
Wrong. They kill what we eat. They kill livestock
So when you hunt/kill these animals, what then? I think it's so sad
You can use them for hides. They kill pets and livestock
Honest this is so sad to see, I really struggle to see any justification that isn't driven by ego or outdated tradition. Seeing an animal actually 'alive' surely is more interesting than dead.
