- Rocket League Sideswipe Grand Champions (GC) are insane at the game. But how big is the skill gap between each rank? I made the best sideswipe player in the world 1v2 each rank until he loses with money on the line. Which rank will be able to stop this sideswipe Grand Champion?

Look at the difference of the strats: 2 Diamonds Was actually attacking 13:01
On the other side when it got to champ One of them was Defending and the other attacking making it Impenetrable for him to score
Note: even with 2 players rushing towards the goal its incredibly hard to score a goal
The skill gap in the golds was hilarious. Also if you want to completely not affect the game you could sit in the back of the goal.
Yeah I also thought of that. You can go through other players and you can't touch the ball so you're basically out of the play entirely

I’m 5’7, but with shoes on it’s just 5’8, but come on that basically 5’9, but you’ve got to round of to the nearest 10 so that’s just 5’10. 5’10 is just so akward so it’s just 5’11. But 5’11 is basically 6 feet.

As a plat, I can confirm that the gameplay from earlier of the GC is stuff that other players and I are doing on a game-to-game basis now

I really agree about the "Grand champs before, are plats now" because I played the game in the pre-season and the level of skill has just drastically changed. Now every singe person is try harding in every rank. (starting from plat and above) But it is what it is man. we must try hard to beat them xD

@@Asher404 You can connect through Bluetooth on your phone with controller.
The golds actually perfectly represent golds. I always get bad teammates so i stay in freeplay before comp and carry. One time me and this gold who was pretty good were teamed up against 2 bad golds and we basically freestyled on them the whole match and still won by 7 points. That's how big the skill gap is.
Also I defend every time im back and im not champ

Going up from gold to platinum was frustrating.
Going up from platinum to diamond was tilting but fun.
Going up from diamond to champ is kinda heartbreaking yet extremely fun.
I plateaued in Champ 1-2. Thinking of using a controller. I need that air roll button so bad lmaooo.
Don't get me wrong diamond and up is where the real fun begins since the only way you'll lose are from your own mistakes (edit) or maybe other variables such as lag or other hardware disadvantages you may encounter. At that level, learning the actual game at a high level and correcting your mistakes is so rewarding. So yeah, I encourage you guys to take your time climbing the ladder because it's fun up there (except the queue times). (It took me 2 weeks and almost 4-6 hrs a day to reach champ on touch controls :D)
I play touch and I can air roll all you gotta do is double tap your joystick and take off, to stop air roll just tap and hold on to joystick then it will stop
Double tap right side of your screen u will do 180 degree air roll
Yeah ur right to get champ with touch is a real grind
Dude I hate as a diamond rn, I feel like I'm the only diamond that can defend 95% of shots which is why I don't trust my tm8 to defend when I'm up (if ever)
u usually just have to hold ur movement button to air roll

Btw striped just an idea, if you ever want to record a sideswipe vid and not be in the way. You could just set in your net if you’re in far enough you won’t knock it out and you’ll be difficult to see

I started sideswipe about 3 weeks ago. I'm now high gold. To me it seemed like bronze was easy.. nobody knew anything. In silver I got all kinds of players. From good to bad. You never knew what was coming. In the end I learned most from playing hoops and suddenly it was jump from silver 2 to gold 4. Once you learn little defence. It is huge difference. Still it seemed like silver had a lot smurfs.
I started a week ago and I’m plat in all modes but I’m starting to see how hard touch is compared to controller so idk if I should switch to controller. You’re absolutely right about the defense part since it’s very crucial and having a tm8 you know definitely helps too
