- Some of the nicest harvest weather we've ever had suddenly changed over night. The snow blower and snow pusher might be a necessity.
The goal of the Grain Bin Safety campaign is to reduce the occurrence of grain bin accidents by raising awareness of the hazards and by raising funds to equip first responders with the tools and training needed to respond quickly when necessary in the event of a grain bin accident. The funds raised will be used to purchase Grain Bin Rescue kits and training for our first responders.

Nominate Your Local First Responders: Best point of contact at your department? What equipment does your department/responders need? Is there a specific brand of equipment your community uses as a combined effort with other local departments? Any other information you think we might find useful? Please send request to givingback@mnmillennialfarmer.com
Zach and Becky Johnson will assemble a panel of volunteers to review request a distribute donations accordingly.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Is Sam wearing a vest?
Yes, and it's a handsome one.
The Green Giant. :)
@@MillennialFarmer Hi, can you write me the varieties of maize you sow that yield the best and at what humidity? I would like to start sowing maize on a larger scale, but I don't know which varieties to sow ??
@@MillennialFarmer lol
Thanks
I wish we could have seen the “oh shit” face under that helmet and goggles 😂
ROFL..... YUP!!!!!!
Would have done the same when I was little...😎
yeee
I just liked the way he owned it. Didn’t even hesitate.
The kid was driving a tractor and grain cart worth how much? I think his dad is fairly comfortable letting him ride it. But pretty sure he's hinting that the machine he has isn't fast enough.
Zack, should have offered him a ride to town in the big red tractor!
"I let it warm up for five minutes" Onyx... Perfect save!!!
hahaha

Farm english- Universal: fits everythjng except what you own
In my experience, universal means fits nothing.
@@fourhillsfarm or almost fits everything. It always need some modifications

John Deere is American. The rest of the world uses the metric system. In Canada, we've got this weird situation where some things are metric and some things are in freedom units. It's the most annoying thing ever. If it's anything other then a John Deere blower, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the issue.
“Who said you could touch my sled?!”
“Uhh, I did.”
Raised him right. Much easier to ask for forgiveness then permission. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Little warm and wet for a sled - no?
🤣🤣 he had clearly rehearsed his response

It's nice to get on and watch videos where there are no politics and I can just sit and watch for a bit. Thank you for the videos and I'll be sure to keep watching
Love the young mans ambition to warm up the snowmobile for you :)
That boy looks like he was having fun on that snowmobile 😂 dad snoozes he looses . Be safe on that machine
We got a sneeze and a Sam the Tillage specialist siting. My day is complete!!
So you get one Case on your farm for few days and JD is rushing in with new tractor :D i see someone is overprotecting :D
Lol
I thought the same thing
@Mario Darnadi Nope just someone didnt want to miss out on his sales commission.
That is the Beauty of the free market: two companies competing to make sales.
This was planned for a while! 😂
My dad even took the keys to the four wheeler and that doesn't stop a determined kid lmao 😂 you got some great kids buddy god bless
Thank you Becky for all your work in making these video's...but you are not in them enough. I live vicarious through your guys. I'm an old 73 year old contractor (still working, cause I love to work) that grew up on a small dairy in Oregon. BB (be blessed)
I love how the red one has to sit outside while you make room for the 8RX to be inside the heated shop hahaha.
I love too see all the John Deere equipment 👍 Keep up the great work....
Amenn brother!
Watched this video over the span of 3 meals through out the day. Talk about a Millennialholic. Snowing here north of border. Stay safe. God bless!
Nick Welker- More green paint "What is that thing."
Zach- Yeah that's better than a quad track.
Nick- But remember to keep it between the rows.
Why would you even compare the two? A Quadtrack is like two classes up of where an 8RX plays or where Deere wants it to play. That´s Just like comparing a car with a dragster just because it has four wheels.
Just keep in mind an 8RX is not much bigger than a standard 8 series on wheels.
So much to do, weather not cooperating. Life of a farmer! Enjoy channel. Becky, great job editing!!!!!
It’s so cool seeing these different types of implements ( seeders/sowers/cultivators/disc harrors etc)
I’m honestly quite fascinated by it all.
Your an awesome dad sending love from Buffalo, N.Y!!!
Its funny. I'm 55 years old, and when I heard dad say I didn't give permission for that, my hackles raised I've heard that tone before! LOL I guess it really doesn't matter how old you get!
Snow blower...
Reminds me of when I was a kid, with my 'Britains' (British toy manufacturers) tractors and yard of implements, putting on different things in the sand pit.
Great memories ❤️
Rich UK 🥰
What a kind and thoughtful son you have . Getting your ride warmed up for you .
The look of utter joy on Zach's face like a kid looking under the Christmas tree @ 6:00 as the door opens up when that magnificent Deere pulled in is the perfect image for what this channel is all about. Just amazing!
Your videos never get old!! 🔥Look forward to them all the time!! Keep this in mind when things get hard!
Oh, you should see the rubber necking going on every time I do anything. My rotation is corn, cereals, double crop legumes, and a forage crop designed to put on 250 units of N. That’s over 2 yrs.
Next year I’m taking an 88 acre field and doing 60” corn, same population as 30’s, and my cereals were planted on 60’s now, with alfalfa cover over the corn we just picked.
You can’t play around like that with contract crops though, but I’ll be farming another farm while that family works through some medical issues. We picked the last of his corn for him this year. He’s the only other organic guy I’ve ever met. It’ll be a busy year! But I’m saving up for a shop and grain system like yours! 👍.
Lil dude on a full size sled. Same thing as pulling a grain cart, just slightly different speeds. Both just as awesome
I just wanted to tell you that you were the first farmer I watched and enjoyed yours the best. Thank you so appreciate. Take care
Love that tractor. Sam is the man.
It’s a blessing to watch you and your family and thank you for all you do for farmers and fire departments
It was nice to see the young man own up to what he was doing and not try to make any excuses good job!
Not this much snow in a typical October? It's 2020, there is nothing typical about this year... Very glad to see Isla in good spirits!!!
Wow thats is neat the display showing the dynamics of what is going on with the machinery!
Warming up this week. Maybe low 50's next weekend. Let the driveway melt off, I rearranged the lawn plowing ours.
Your Efforts to raise Funds for Grain Bin Safety and Recovery are Commendable. Thank You
Retired Farmer !! H.
Quite the winter wonderland around your place. Looks a lot like Christmas😁.
Hey Zach thanks for the update and great video 👍
Been watching for about a year now and this is too interesting and funny to every stop watching now
Thank you for what you do for our country
Thanks for the true to life sneeze.
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always!!!
he let it warm up for five minutes, what do you expect. I see nothing wrong here. hehe
I am thinking it was closer to 3 mins 🤔😳😂
Its always a blast to have neat toys to play with until it becomes a pain
Always enjoy watching
85 degrees here a week ago in northeast Arkansas and now it’s 48. Still have 4000 acres of soybeans in the field. We’re running a 520 quad track. Lots of power.
I just wanted to thank you for your videos one of the highlights of my days are watching you and other farmers so appreciate all you do and say prayers for that kind of weather you need to take care of the things that need to be done on your land. I won’t be watching Any more good videos for a while but pray you and your family will stay safe and experience much happiness in the next months ahead. Thank you again you do a really wonderful job never change. I heard this quote be yourself no one else can do it better. I likeHow you can make people laugh because they can identify with some of the things you do that are funny and of course appreciate the serious times too.Be safe
Been lucky here in the UK fens, havent seen a lot of snow past few years but when we had proper winters years ago it were pretty bleak and thick I tell you!
That is one stuck up deere!! got that case scent up her nose and went ahh hellll nooo!!!
Zach try taking the pto shafts off and putting them in your shop when storing implements outside
At least he was honest. I sure we all did something we shouldn't
"To shollpy and moooiiissst" I love that! Lol
I love to see the 8rx with the quadratic! Great video
I could watch this 24/7
Very nice beanie thats the one I just got yesterday very nice and warm thank you
I believe your sled just became his sled.😊
God bless.
Good looking John Deere equipment! 😘🚜😀 Mike from Missouri
I’m a fan you are a natural educator
I was eating lunch when he sneezed into the camera not gonna lie it made me flinch 😂
and now we will all have the covid thanks to that scandahoovian! talk about a super spreader! 24k cases from one sneeze!
Thanks for sneezing on us Zack, great thing to do when there's a pandemic!!!! :P
Hi Zach. These have definitely been so e tough conditions recently with all the snow. Hoping your still able to get your 100 acres of crop out before the winter. Praying for you and your family. Take care, from Canada 🇨🇦
Dad's sled is always the one his boy want to ride !!
A video on my birthday. So happy. Keep up the good work love the videos
You are an awesome Dad!! Boys are tough, independent like Dad!!
LOOKS LIKE 6 LOVES THE NEW SNOW
Hey Zach: Love too see ramping up red vs green. Really fun to watch! Captain Al from Tama😎
I love onyx's reasoning for taking your sled.
You'll love the strip till
Very nice video, thank you.
Always been a fan of traditional discing with no harrows in the fall to bury the trash to decompose and sticking to ripping highly compacted areas then smooth things out in the spring with a field cultivator.(digger).
Supposed to be starting to get nice this week and really warm on Saturday (53) at least down here in the Cities.
*Technician sitting at desk, watching MFer*
Tech: 😳 *picks up phone*
Tech: “Sir! We have a Code Red! Repeat, CODE RED!!” The Johnsons are domoing a Quad Trac!”
CEO: “Don’t worry son, I know just the thing...”
Is can't believe you had to get out of the Tractor 🤣 down here on the Outer Banks of NC put it looks like FUN
When John Deer is afraid of losing a customer.
Glad to see the Welkers didn't corrupt you and the Green is back.
I Love it when Sam shows up!
Thanks!
Zach: She was a bit crispy.
😂 good description!!
Amazing new video we run both John Deere and Case on our Farm.
@D Boogman OMG your right
As a 35 year volunteer fireman and a farmer I just wanted to say Thank you for what you are doing for the grain rescue program! Are department has the equipment and training already. But thanks again for what you are doing!
Awesome video thanks for sharing
Send some my way! West coast is in drought conditions with million-acre fires, Rain isn't forecasted until Nov 12 at the earliest!
Thanks for the video.
Like the go cart driving in circles
It looks like the rear lift arms are to close together in that quick hitch so they bind against the blocks in the center (left en right of the pto) you can see them spring back at around 2:20 when you push them down with the skidsteer
Yep the sway blocks are so new and tight she needed a little coxing. Another, that’s what she said moment 😎
I agree. Looks to tight
Yes this is the reason. JD thing.
Its the nice (stupid) design of it.
The stuck 3 point is a common JD problem. At some point in the past, they decided to build them with that problem. Then, when it became a known problem, don't fix the problem.
Make sure You grease them often, and when you shut the tractor off, lower the 3 pt to the ground. Then move the control to up so when you start it it will move all the way up.
Bless you
Zak, you need an additional building for that outside storage for those implements ! Weather ruins more equip. than using it !
I can't wait for you to drive that new John deer 8rx that is a sweet looking tractor nice sled to
Man that snow looks fun
Cruising in the Welker Cadillac, in the snow. What a day......
We have a JD 7410. We were advised to periodically raise and lower the 3 point because the cylinders will get stuck if you leave them long enough.
Hahaha! “I did . . .” Priceless! It’s really funny when it’s not my sled or my kid.
I've put 10's of thousands of acres on a 2510s. Put down dry fertilizer. I would start in mid August and go about non stop till froze out and it had to really freeze hard to stop me. I have gone into January before frozen to much. I was even doing it when the snow was very deep and i had snow going over the machines frame. I first pulled it with a 9510R then went to a 9620 RX and could put that tractor on its knees many of times. Takes a lot of power to pull. I strip tilled in south central and western South Dakota. Run a 16 row machine. I run it 8 to 9 inches deep with a 3 to 4 inch berm. Glad to see there are no rolling baskets on it because all they do is catch stalks and quit turning and drag the berms flat. It will go through a tremendous amount of trash as long as you do not work the trash in. If you work it , the trash will be up rooted from the ground and will not flow through the machine because it will be loose and laying in all different directions. Heavy weeds and trash in wet spot will go through unless you work them before you strip till them.
Yes the 8rx is back that's a dope tractor.
This just kills me, we have every hi-tech piece of wizbangedry availible crammed into modern farm equipment, but 75 years on since the first three point hitch and still nobody has established a set of industry wide hard dimensional standards for a three point lift. And to think, we landed men on the Moon🤣🤣
Remember your in Minnesota, so wait a couple of hours and tne weather is sure to change.
Coming from a Minnesotan that moved to Florida because of the snow...
I think they are in Michigan?
Valliant effort Zach. Some days you just can't git 'r done.
lol snowmobile problems... hilarious!!! Kids always keep you on your toes, no matter what.
John Deere really wants to protect Zach after seeing the welkers case ih
Lots of stuff sitting out in the snow... sure could use another nice big Morton building!
