I hate how kayfabe is dead. I really do. I’m not mad at people being able to find ways into the business , but I hate how people say “aw it’s fake , it’s easy” , no the fuck it is not. People always think they’re Ted Turner or Vince McMahon or Dixie Carter , if you don’t own a wrestling promotion , fucking relax. I just enjoy watching wrestling honestly. We’re all fans , but some of these people who look too deep into it kinda ruin it. Like finding out (way after the fact myself) that Mr. Kennedy was supposed to be Mr. McMahon’s son but too many people found out so they changed it to Hornswoggle REALLY pissed me the fuck off. Even my dad , who is not really a wrestling fan , sometimes watches with me and can suspend his disbelief and just watch what’s on the screen. Like. Sometimes , breaking that 4th wall is kinda cool sometimes , like when AJ called Undertaker Mark , like I don’t want it to go back to Ultimate Warrior/Macho Man/Hulk Hogan-era kayfabe , but man , in 2022 it’s just kinda boring. We even ruined Bray’s return by figuring it out and telling everyone , I actually think WWE did a good job keeping it interesting with the QR codes.
Cornette is 110% right the internet ruined pro wrestling and just about everything else. I mean the internet is good for certain reasons but if there was no internet I think pro wrestling would still be amazing.
“Tough Enough” exposed the business completely. Wrestling has not been the same before the show aired. Now anyone can be a wrestler. Anyone who can slam someone through a glass table is a wrestler. For ages, the wrestling industry was a mystery. “Is it fake or real??” was a commonly asked question. Nobody was clear about how legit wrestling is. The show answered everyone’s question. Wrestling fans are now closeted for fear they’re made fun of.
Ilja vs Walter. Started strong, intense, kept going strong, intesne, still went on string and intense. I could't care less half way, seeing most intense chops and big sells... Contrast is a gift. Big sell after a big move, where every move is big and every sell is big is regular size. In the end if everything is regular, it just might end up being boring. Of course the match gets praised, strange how such a pro wrestling eating, breathing, shiting, living guy even while trying to get into the math himself. Just didn't enjoyed it at all. Spot fest, might have something to do with me not watching the entire build up. Pacing is there to show us which move is big, it gives a story why it's big. The pay off also matter. Why I can't find anyone who agree with me on this Simple af pro wrestling booking. It's not rocket science, Jim said it here too. Ilja vs Walter match should have been same but cut 80% shorter, or just had a regular logicall pace of big moves coming at built up momments with pay off after each bigger momment. Instead of being some masochist wet dream. Even the hot crowd was there just to show support to great workers and not the match itself. Because it was, compared to talent in it, a total shit
Way way too much exposure the curtain has been pulled a long time ago..the behind the scenes documentaries should have never happened..you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube..

I could listen to Jim cut a promo on paint drying. There may be some people that do like his vulgarity. Screw that! he can be as salty as he wants because you can hear the passion in his voice. He is a guy that truly loves the business and, even in today's age of the internet he wants the business to be good and flourish.
True legend of wrestling
I think every fan feels that smack in the face betrayal wwe gave to us ever exposing the business
Cornette is a wrestling savant.
He is what Julia Child is to cooking
He is goat for me. I just loved how he speak. He is wrestling entertainment Prophet beside Heyman. Both? Believe me, wrestling Entertainment going far far away from PG.
Aew is the best thing to happen to wrestling in 20 years
Corny was extra irritated because they gave him a Sierra Mist instead of a Sprite
Knowledge for me and not for thee
I love Cornys tirades
I liked wrestling better before Kayfabe was broken. It took the mystery out of it for me. I agree I don’t need to know how a magician does his tricks. There’s way too much exposure now.
Is Conrad Thompson doing the interview?
No.
I dont think conrad even existed back then lol in any wrestling or interview way
It's Gabe Sapolsky doing the interview. He was also the early booker and PBP man for Ring of Honour.
This was before Feinstein was outed as a pedophile, and ROH and Gabe split.
Conrad was just another dumb mark back then (well, actually he still is). But he didn't have Ric Flair's jock to sniff back then.
Dam right
No lies detected there.
"People like that are killing the wrestlin' business".......20 years later, wrestlin' still in business. LOL.....Corny is such a fun entertainer. Just can't take him as seriously as he takes himself.
Ratings overall are dead and there are no stars to drive the product forward in any company. It's been at a hard-core fan base plateau for awhile now.
Definitely get the surprise part, I miss being a kid, thinking wwe was real and getting excited over all the matches. Now it's like yep I know it's scripted and i already know who's gonna win. Judgement day for example, definitely ain't no surprise with them, you know what's gonna happen every week. 😂
Sprite!!
This is the same with movies also..all the " brhind the scenes" stuff yes its cool but they should have never showed any of it. We know its a movie but seeing how they made Batman fly thru the air and Superman kinda takes away imo..That's why the first Superman was great it looked more realistic

Id love tp see this whole thing .. is this the shoot where he didnt shOOT
on russo cause they were at TNA
jim joined tna 3 years later In 2006
I hate how kayfabe is dead.
I mean the internet is good for certain reasons but if there was no internet I think pro wrestling would still be amazing.
blud spitting facts in 2024
“Tough Enough” exposed the business completely.
He predicted the future whenever it came to these so called "smart fans" today
Yes he did and hes still right
He's absolutely right
@@madmanwebster94 And he's one of the people who started those type of people
Ilja vs Walter.
No ones reading all this, kid. Kenny omega matches r better than whatever match your talking about there dude lol
@@alberttwangle893 of course they are. Omega pace the big spots so they make sense
This interview is older than me
PhD in wrestling.
Dana white vs Jim Cornette in debate
nice punch Jim
Way way too much exposure the curtain has been pulled a long time ago..the behind the scenes documentaries should have never happened..you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube..
👍👍
Lol He just don’t hold back.
My question is.... Does Cornette have a problem with Rick Bassman?
AEW future is predicted and it's happening right now
I guess he’s off Jim’s Christmas card list
🤣🤣🤣🔥
Big guys, small guys, hardcore wrestling, too much high flying, short storylines, long storylines. You name it, Jim Cornette hates everything.
Before you tube was invented
Do you still promote? I've got a storyline that is great for someone to promote.
This is definitely the right place for that
Everyone's got a screenplay they want read, kid.
Cornette really hates Bassman! But from what I know, most of the business’s opinion of Bassman is pretty negative.
Jim now has a show doing exactly what he's complaining about here ha. Oh it's also on the internet...
