I am Korean farmer. In spite of different backgrounds (earth, climate, etc), I can learn important principles and insight on sustainable agriculture. Much thanks!
It is also very interesting for me to see your hand-made sowing tool.
Before, at mountain area in Korea, there was burning mountain for farming. Now strictly prohibited by law.
Hope good sustainable agriculture in Africa.

Best conservation agriculture video on the internet. I have watched all videos I can find on ca. But this one explains deeply. It's on another level. Thanks for uploading. I keep on returning to this video. You really blessed farmers and wanna be's all over the world. This institution is top notch. Others dont go that far. I have seen explanations from Europeans but these Ghanaens master their trade. Wow.

As someone from a central European country with high educational standards, I admit that I did not expect an African video to provide the best explanations and illustrations of Conservation Agriculture. However, even after reading and watching several sources for half a year, this is still the video I recommend to anyone with an interest in the topic to watch first. It's simply very well done.
CA is still not very well accepted in Europe, but farmers are slowly starting to dive into the matter with the rising amount of extreme weather conditions and an ever growing amount of chemical fertilizer required each year.

ua-cam.com/video/yExpSwpRkEs/v-deo.html Ray Archuletta is pretty close to a god when it comes to agriculture, farming and livestock. It's wise to add livestock to your operation along with dung beetles because they'll take the dung and put it into the soil for free, which will significantly enrich your soil.

no till is a common practice nowadays. tons of no-till videos on yt. don't really think this is necessarily african knowledge as you can see from the top of the video where they said they were practicing slash and burn ag. also the lead agronomist was wearing a buffet foundaion tshirt - warren buffett's brother has an ag foundation/nonprofit where he helps farming in the developing nations.

This is the best video about agriculture I've watched and understood in the recent past. Unfortunately, many governments in Africa have such brilliant brains among our population but, corruption and greed has continued to take center stage to an extent of leaving it to World Food Programme (WHO) to feed starving Africans. It's such a shame.

We are starting a small farm in Tanzania and we want to practice conservation agriculture. This video is incredibly informative, the only issue I have is the inclusion of the tractors, the rippers, and seeders, the technology gap between the tractor and the hoe is enormous, I'm familiar with Ghana and in a country where the farmer tractor ratio is in the region of ten thousand farmers to one tractor the chance of a smallholder getting access too or being able to afford the hire, charges is remote in the extreme.
PS The tractor in my picture I built and the photo was taken in Ghana.

We both want the best for the future of the world and that's going to take a lot of new farming techniques like no-till and going organic, instead of destroying the soil and microbiology by tilling/plowing and the use of chemicals. I think you should educate yourself, watch that video and other related videos he has, along with Alan Savory. If you truly have the best interests of the world and can comprehend what they say then you'll be spamming links to their videos too.

I love this vid. I have seen micro deserts form like this right near my house, and I live in Canada. A desert is naturally hot and generally uncomfortable for anything living. We build our roads with hard pans as well as our cities/deserts :] Global warming is closely related to these deserts. Bring water and life back to our land/cities and this will help maintain an enjoyable climate. Diversity in our landscape is much needed and all life needs water to be abundant.

What about growing fruit and nut trees close togheter for food. It will not be overgrown by weeds and shade the ground beneath and hold the soil. Still you have to watch out for snakes but you have had to do that since forever where you live.

Plant local tobacco around the garden. It works here in Uganda. The smell of tobacco repels the snakes.
