With actual logic tho just because boxing tends to have a weakness against people who kick doesn’t mean your scrawny ass is going to have the skill to actually use kicks effectively. Karate sweep was impressive, but is such a dangerous move as opposed to the tried and true low kick that the guy dug his own grave.

Boxing outside the ring is best applied via dirty boxing and doing the most damage you can and then backing off right after and making space until you can dip out the situation via running or lay them out. You’re only really screwing yourself if you just stand there throwing long combinations for no reason and constantly pushing forward when you don’t need to. So don’t be aggressive and keep calm and keep cool. And like other guy and you said, against an untrained person even better cause they don’t have the form to exploit any boxing weaknesses or know when to counter regardless of if you peak-a-boo like you’re supposed to or not. Form and technique is why kicks and grapples HURT a boxer. A normal guy is gonna attempt a low kick and trip and go off balance.
When you know the style’s limitations, you can work around them. Takamura’s low punch was the perfect counter to the sweep- close the distance, go for the head. A solid shot from faster punch, _especially_ a heavy punch like Takamura’s, is going to put his opponent on the ground in that scenario. Keep your head, and don’t panic. Supposedly playing with their junk is what helps guys get adrenaline pumping so in a pinch or before a fight, theyd either do that or watch "home videos" to get an additional adrenaline rush before the fight even begins. Boxing teaches you how to punch effectively which is a farcry from the haymakers those compensating fools use in street brawls anyway. It also teaches you how to build and conserve stamina. Doesn't mean you can only rely on boxing on a streer fight, but knowing how to box will only help you more.
I hate it. I have to get over this! Have you ever watched a show that's so good that you can't watch it? This show always has me on the edge of my seat, heart pounding with inspiration, and i can't bring myself to watch it, its too good! I've tried three times, keep getting to about 30 eps in, and after the huge fight, I'm exhausted and satisfied. I can only take so much greatness. I have to see where this series goes, but my spirit can't take it.
