When I first heard Jasmine sing this song while watching the new Aladdin, I liked it. But I was honestly so distracted by nostalgia that I didn't really HEAR it, ya know? So when I sat down & started learning the lyrics for this cover, the song took on a whole new meaning for me. These lyrics are so freaking powerful! There are so many parts of my story I haven't been able to share with you all yet, parts that have made me feel like my "voice" as a person was stolen away. This song gave me a chance to find my resolve all over again to be brave & not stay silent forever. It's crazy & amazing how singing has the ability to make you feel like you're using your voice to break down invisible barriers & fight invisible foes. I hope that makes sense. lol Anyway, I love this song so much, I think Naomi Scott SLAYED it & I'm super proud of how vulnerable & raw this cover turned out... I sang it with my WHOLE heart & I hope it encourages you today. Don't go speechless.

I loved the live action remake of Aladdin, Naomi Scott really nailed it as Princess Jasmine, her song really is my favorite and I love Will Smith's genie but you can't compete with Robin Williams's genie. It's my favorite of Disney live action remakes.
