A General Retires | 101 The Journey | Unique Stories From India

- Опубліковано 8 кві 2017
- As Gen. I.S. Singha enters civilian life, father and son set off on a trip to rekindle their bond. Growing up, Harman Singha hardly spent any time with his father. The story is the same for most army families, with the women raising the children, while the men are posted away for months at a time. Now that the General's years of service have come to an end, finally, father and son have a chance to explore their bond. Together, they will hop onto a bike, and take a trip to Amritsar, to visit The Golden Temple, and then the Wagah Border.

this way we both my wife and self were taken by our younger Son Gagan Gill from Pune to Matheran ,a hill station in Raigad District where we had no mobiles working ,no internet ,living in the house of an Army Officer of 1885 ,enjoyed candle lights dinner ,this way new bonds get developed between Parrents and Kids ,good work done ,
Gurmeet
Hlo could u guide me ...
Beautiful story of father bonding with his son. Respect to this general. I Hope one day we all can pass freely through the Wagah border. Love from Lahore, Pakistan.
@ F Shumail - Lots of love to you to you my friend, from India! Hopefully, one day, the wagah border would be like the US-Canadian border, when people from both sides can just drive in and drive out at their pleasure!
@@ant6914 my hopes are for a border to not be there at all, like east and west germany :)
Reminded me of when my dad retired after 32 years of service. We surprised him with a family gathering when he returned from his last day as an Army officer. But its not just the men in uniform who stay away from their families, a wage laborer working in a metropolis visits his village once a year, so it just depends. Fathers are an immense part of who we are, and I salute all dads, whatever profession they are pursuing or have pursued, because he might be a General or an IPS or a shopkeeper or a rickshaw puller, but fathers sacrifice their present for out future.
salute to your thought......
thank you for thinking of wage labourers.
Nothing is bigger or smaller
Tell your father to love us Kashmiri kid also . My brother disappeared since 8 years
@@skonwar3402maybe tell your family members to stop bombarding in jammu and pilgrims that could have helped pretty sure he died as a terrorist
my father served for more than 26 years in army. the army gave us everything what actually we want in life . I remember those days when he used to posted in Kashmir and we were not able to contact him. now he is no more .....I really miss you dad
😭😭😭😭😭😭 Respect
Rip😭😭 may god bless you and your family
I am out of words for the first time for you guys because it's just a lot of emotions touched the roots of my soul. You are my Storytellers and you know I see myself in you guys. Stay blessed.
Indeed a beautiful episode Harman .... I loved the closing quote "The more things change, The more they stay the same"
"My father has come home. When I was growing up, he was barely around. But the irony is now he has all the time in the world & I don't. The more things change, the more they stay the same."
These lines 👍
Respect. Honour. Thank You General and the Singha family for their sacrifices for the country. Bhagwan humesha aapka bhala kare. Jai Hind.

Thank you for posting this video. I come from defence family as well and can relate to this video. I had tears in my eyes as my father is retired now, we can never thank enough of our fathers working for Armed Forces and serving our nation in turn sacrificing their own family time. Thank you all. Jai Hind.
General sir is more handsome then both of his sons.
Trueee 😂

This was a fabulous episode... This how every father son relationship should be..
Its such an amazing video that reminds me of my days when I was growing up. My dad served in the army for 35 years and when I saw this video for the first time even I cried because I too felt the same as harman being the black sheep of the family. But now I have realized that my father is always proud of me and one day I would certainly do such kind of a trip where we both will be together and reminisce and remember the old days. I love you dad proud to be your son.
Simply Heart warming, amazing and great bonding....
Best stuff on the UA-cam....., The storyline is incredible. Speaks the harsh reality. Salute to the families of our Army men.
Full respect to ur dad sir..So nice to c such great men retiring after serving our nation.

Salute to Gen Sir. Really amazing to see such a bonding father and son. In fact a similar father and son duo I met at Kalimpong in the 80s. God bless you 🙏
Yup! i Miss my dad too. ARMY Men#hardwork#sacrifice#compromise#....And my dad is inspiration/role model for me. i want to be like him. Love you
" The silences between us also became more comfortable" words
Well I have been a fan of 101 stories, this one was perhaps the most I could relate to, as being an army kid myself it brought back all the memories which I believe were the best days of my life.
The most heart touching video I have recently come across. Beautiful 😘🙏. And not to forget the most important thing the whole country is proud for your Dad and they are proud of you too😎

good to see the father son bond on a cool road-trip.
Road trips always leave good memories..
Wow wonderful documentry ...felt so touched ..our dad was in Police and most of the time he was away from home doing duties and safeguarding people .. getting transferred in every 2 years ..felt the same almost ..my confession is still pending ..may be one day I shall be doing this style ..and yeh even his first bike was bullet those early days in 1980s ..
really amazing & what a bonding between dad n son...#handsOfUh Harman , you&ranvijay sir is really doing something great..
#chearForThem #HipHipHurray
Wow! One of the best things I've seen. This made my day!
Good stuff man!! Loved it very unique concept plus because this concept touched back home for you it had raw and genuiness to it. All regards to sir too he have had an amazing service
brought tears in my eyes. It was very interesting to see a person living life like a lion to change in civilian attire. initially I thought general sir would feel low but no. he is general remember. you give him any role he will perform it the best way he can. Son is a Frank person in what he thought by describing himself as black sheep but you're not man. your dad is proud of what you have become. what more on Earth is precious than that.
Made me emotional i am just about to cry it was damn amazing never thought a bike journey can be this much interesting
It's really awesome to be with father I miss my father really much
