- On special episode of American Bandstand, The Jackson 5 performed numbers from the Dancing Machine and Moving Violation albums as well as a solo number from Michael from his "Forever, Michael" album. Fun Fact: The Jackson 5 had just announced days prior they were leaving Motown Records
That robot dance break never gets old!!! Amazing.
Fucking Legend!!!!!! Dancing machineee
Never!!
I swear I have to going rewind rewind rewind rewind just studying his every move as he did with james brown...Mike is too blessed with skills
ABSO FUKIN LUTELY Awesome ✊🏾
Yea but sometimes it gets ruined because it's shown at the wrong angle
1. The spin. 2. The ROBOT. 3. The spin and the change of the mic from one hand to the other. 4. The way he got back in sync with Jackie and Marlon. He was ALWAYS A LEGEND. RIP KING
The Jackson 5 was a phenomenal group. I like this song in particular, This is when Michael really started to perfect his dancing abilities.
no it wasnt he been practicing since he was 12 trying to come up with something new
@@ta4life27 Get to know who are evil, how they communicate with one another (the language of hand signs and symbols of masonry) and EXPOSE them. Love truly your Neighbors. Don+t just say you do, SHOW IT that you do
Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,= not against human beings. All humans are our Neighbors, whom we are called to LOVE not hate not abuse, LOVE.
And what is LOVE?
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Love = laying down ones own life for their loved ones and giving out RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT.
How many amongst us LOVE? - FEW How many amongst us HATE? - MANY

That spin, that robot walk..flawless👏👏👏
that spin is the truth ... lol ...
The way Mike could spin in time with the music always fascinated me. He could 360 to 720 spin clockwise to counter clockwise, just amazing!!!
His spins were out of this world.
Michael is the best front man anyone could ever imagine to ask for! Never a dull moment, always spectacular!
And in Pink! no less!
@3:30 Jamaine like: "Damn, Mike, you killin it , bro!"
Dang, remember watching this on American Bandstand!! The good ol' days, when everyone was chill and not so damned uptight. Time Machine please!!!!!!!!!!!!!✌❤
Miss those days too
@@TJay41 IKR!!!! Where did all the good times go?? We were soooo lucky!!! Nice to know someone else feels the same way!!!🙂
This is very rare for me. Ive never seen this or even knew they were on ab in 75...especially a year after the release. It's like being in another dimension when i see Jermaine with them in 75 like hold up wait a minute lol
It is strange to see Jermaine still with them at this point. Gives us a glimpse of what could have been.
@@Cas82958 man omg someone agrees with me on that 1....its like🤔😱🤨
Jermaine Jackson gone the next month damn
IThat's crazy By this time They was talking to epic And they was Trying to get Jamaine to sign with them but they was still popular when they Left Motown
None can ever take their place in history!
Kudos to a lot of those behind the scenes who helped to promote their on stage styles like Suzanne DePasse, when you looked at their performance, their unique fashion styles kept them to gain even more popularity!
In 2023 street performers all over the world are still strutting their MJ stuff!
I never get tired of watching Michael dance or sing. Or the entire family really 💓. The way he took the mic off so smoothly. The spins were perfect. I could never lol. I'm the definition of uncoordinated. Miss this man 😩💓.
Geez! Their afros were on point!
Remember this when it first came out as a kid. Still crank it to this day and our grand baby does the robot. Great group.
Why don’t we see talent like this anymore?
It doesn't exist, none before and none after the jacksons. Their gifts came fro. God almighty from their mothers womb. They were designated to be stars and to get their they had to be obedient to they parents and the adults over them . They humbled themselves and that's what's made them All great.
More technology than talent these days.
They broke the mold after Joe Jackson is why. Lol 😂
Their last appearance on AB as the "Jackson 5". :(
Also one of Jermaine’s last TV performances with the brothers.
Thank u VERY much for postin' a clearer version of this clip.
Then they became the jacksons
@@jupiter4205 That's right. Then they did the variety show and toured. They didnt return 2 AB til '79. That was their last appearance.
Facts
I didn’t get it I didn’t know what you meant I just meant you said there last time as the jackson 5 they changed there name to the Jacksons later
Damn Jermaine Jackson should had been on the Jackson 5 tv show damn damn
A landmark in contemporary choreography. The sound was so fresh compared to regular pop rock stuff distilled in radio at the time.
"This is everybody's favorite part of dancing machine 2:01" 😍
I love the robot 😊 Also love Smooth Criminal video ... Michael was amazing!
I will ALWAYS Love the Jacksons...Thank you Thank you from the bottom of my SOUL!
That robot was Beautiful. Fantastic
I was just about to turn 4 years old when they performed this on AB! First time seeing it fully in 2022!
The fro' s were gigantic.

2023! Still amazing!

Who could forget watching American Bandstand on Saturday afternoons right after Soul Train
Michael Jackson amazing for the robot dance in Dancing Machine
Who else do you know that could spin like that, then transition into another dance move without missing a step? TKOP!
Nobody. MJ is a different breed.

ABSOLUTELY 💯 STRIKINGLY INTONE PHERNOMONAL AMAZINGLY JACKSON FIVE BAD TO THE BONE OOH YEAH 😳 ADORABLE BABY 👶 😍 GREETINGS FROM ❤ 😘 AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿 ❤ 😀 DANCING MACHINE
Michael ♥️♥️🕊️💫
Jermaine Jackson got a gold album for singing background for Steve wonder damn it meant for him to go solo this same fall of 1975
All the Jackson 5 sang background for the Stevie Wonder song ‘You Haven’t Done Nothing’ . Dick Clark said ‘this is Jermaine’s copy’ seems they may have all gotten their own separate copies.
@@andrewcrawford4635 Correct. Each brother received their own gold record.
Yes, Stevie’s song they sung background in the chorus to was ‘You Haven’t Done Nothing’. At one point you can clearly Jackie Jackson’s high pitch voice.
King of king (res pect) 🤴
Mi baby precioso bello guapo michael jakson el mejor cantante bailarín de todos los tiempos
This been should've happened on this show after when Dancing Machine first came out
Errol Thomas I was saying the same thing Dancing Machine came out the very end of 1973 when they performed it on soul train but officially song came out the end of March 1974 by the time they performed this the moving violation album was out and MJ looked tired of performing this song his robot was weak
I believe It was because Dancing Machine was on 2 albums 🤷🏾♂️
@@frederickifill3107 This is why Dancing Machine should've gotten done live instead of them lip synching to it
@@VeraciousMind Facts galore indeed. First on Get It Together which is the longer version. Then later on Dancing Machine which is the shorter version.
@@errolthomas9426 By this time, *nobody* sang live on _American Bandstand_
The Jackson 6ix!
I love this!
I loved that the announce r stayed in the crowd unlike today
I love it wish I had been old enough to see it but I was only a baby✊🏿🎶
phenomenal
World's no. 1 beautiful dancer
Thank you for posting this wonderful footage of American Bandstand. Do you have any more video of the dancers that appear at the very beginning of this clip?
WOW
It's unfortunate but fortunate to the world there will be another Jackson 5
“They’re always fun to look at”
Unbeknownst to me that today is June 28th… 47 years ago, Michael Jackson danced on American Bandstand. 🤩
Watching on June 28, 2023 by chance.
I wish the cameraman kept the camera angle on Michael from the front as Michael did the Robot like the cameramen did on his robot dance in Mike Douglas and Carol Burnett. I also wish Michael didn't turn his back to the audience so fast as he was doing the robot. I loved seeing that blank stare on his face as he was doing the robot since it added to the routine.
I ALWAYS prefer WATCHING THEM. Better entertainment.hands down.
❤️❤️❤️
Tito and Jermaine dancing while playing guitars. The talent!
The robot dance so iconic
By the time the Jackson 5 performed this song it was already old Dancing Machine was performed on soul train the end of 1973 but the song officially came out the end of March 1974. MJ was tired of this song and his robot was weak. And this was also Jermaine last performance as the the Jackson 5
Mike was tired of doing the same sing n Jermaine Jackson was berry Gordy son not Micheal Jackson lol so Mike was piss
Glad you mentioned that by 1975, "Dancing Machine" was no longer new and that they performed it (when it was new) on Soul Train in 1973. I think some people forget that the original version of "Dancing Machine" (with the intro and everything) was first released on the GIT (Get It Together) album.
But the song was still popular That's why they did it so much
And Michael Jackson's robot was NEVER weak 🤷🏿♂️
@@jaydenbenson2671 come on compared to the others this was weak
That robot dance used to scare me as a kid. 🤦🏽♀️
😅
Lol
Honest fire
6/28/1975.The Short vs Long Skirts & Dresses at the time.
But I can't get mad Jermaine Jackson left it was meant to be lil Randy Jackson had to be apart of the group Jermaine Jackson was the original singer of the jackson5 so got bless Jermaine Jackson with a solo shot
Jermaine left is because of Motown relationship. The Brothers break away from Motown. Jermaine is married to Hazel Gordy, daughter of Berry Gordy Jr, makes him stay in Motown in order not to upset his "father-in-law".
@@ethanang3527 if wasn't for the one take Osmond's brothers putting Jimmy Osmond's n act Randy wouldn't be n shit
@@ethanang3527 Good Evening Jermaine stayed with Motown after his brothers left. He revealed in his memoirs that he told Berry about his brothers leaving and that he wanted to help save Motown. Berry told him that he respected his decision but to also think about it as well. Hazel told him that she married him and not the business and that whatever he chose to do she would support him. Jackie revealed that Hazel had also told Jermaine that he should go with his brothers but Jermaine refused.
Better Quality!!!
J5 was stepping
✋👏👏🙏🙏
Jackson Five plus one Jackie Jermaine Tito Marlon Michael and Randy
Dang those Afros were the hot spot
Michael and marlon switched costumes
1:45 until 1:54 is 🔥
THE VOICE IS ALBUM
When Jermaine left Michael had to do more
0:00 AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Michael did appear earlier that year in January on AB as a solo act performing "Were Almost There". The episode is most likely lost and I think the only tv appearance of Michael Jackson missing. There are however many pics of it on Getty Pics.
He performed Just A Little Bit of You in this episode and We're Almost There in this episode iirc. I have to look at the tape again
@@TheMJJHistorian He wore a black vest in that episode. You can find looking for the episode guide. But many AB episodes before Nov. 1975 are thought to be missing.
Yep most of the episodes of AB from 1970-74(including the first few eps of the 1974-75 season)are probably gone with the surviving episode count being at 883 or 884 chances of those eps being apart of the AB surviving episodes i hope they are included in that bunch that didnt get erased
this is the year they had enough of motown same old bullcrap.times were changing disco was taking over and mj wanna to do something new and fresh and i don t blame him... nobody wants to be left behind at all. when everybody was trying something new
Facts. Many members of The Jackson 5ive had wanted to start writing and producing their own music but Berry Gordy and Motown told them and their father no. Plus many of their labelmates were also having issues with the label for not promoting them and spending its time promoting Diana Ross who wound up leaving the label in 1981 due to lack of creative control and money. When The Jacksons signed with Epic they got more money and creative control
So Randy Jackson joined the Jackson 5 when Jermaine was still with them before they left Motown
0:14 "There are 6 in the Jackson 5".
Yes, the little brother Randy became a part of the group
I say this is one of the weaker ones but it’s still great
Yeah they was tired of this song at this point lol
Lol at the lip syncing. I know they probably had to but 1975 Mike with 1973 Mike’s voice is kinda funny
Ik funny
Frankie Lymon was doing the same thing. Being 18-years-old, and lip syncing over his 12-years-old self.
I’m dead 😂 . Everyone could probably tell to
his voice is amazing. God gave him talent
MJ robot 🤖 was weak cause he was tired of doing Dancing Machine by 1975. His best robot was Soul Train, The Mike Douglass Show and The Carol Burnett Show.........MUST SEE
Absolutely Mike was so busy at that time They had that Vegas show And they Was still touring at the Same time
Well I thought it was good
How was it weak it was great
Lipsync. Michaels voice changed by now, I can tell by his face
It was American Bandstand, artists were usually told to mime in that show.
but
M 1 over anyone
Funny how none of Michaels brothers were ever accused of anything; only Michael.
Because Michael was the most famous
@@MichaelJacks265 No. That has nothing to do with it.
@@nonaking1 It does they focus on Michael more then they will with his brothers plus they are haters
@MichaelJacks265 I disagree. They common denominator is that MJs brothers, didn't have the liking fir little children. Be realistic.
@@nonaking1 Well I said what I said they are nice like Michael even if they did nobody really pay attention to his brothers they would pay more attention to Michael you even bringing this stuff up
