Great video as usual, but Lei's a little special here: his combos drop more often than everyone else for females, ESPECIALLY CHLOE. The BT d1 combos don't work on Chloe. Not sure if this is intended or a bug, but for now the best combo for uf3+4/u1+2,4/BT d1 CH is: launch - BT 4,1 - ff3~b - BT 4,4. This works on females and Chloe. It's very weird that Lei misses females a lot, and Chloe even more. Usually Ling Xiaoyu is used to check if combos drop on females, but for Lei it's uniquely Chloe to use if combos are consistent or not.
The d1 combos worked on Anna, so I would assume they would work on Nina as well. I'll test out Chloe, though I wonder if the bug I mentioned in my comment is affecting anything.
I've never been a lei player but I just bought him and I'm gonna dedicate the time to learn him and main him, he looks really cool in motion in this game

@@TheLurkerAtTheThreshold hey, can i ask u something? i play Lei Wulong, so far i'm okay, no problem doing mix up combo or anything. the only problem i'm facing is that i somehow can't fight an aggressive opponent that keep on attacking me with short combo low and high repeatedly until i make mistake(example hwoarang, jin kazama). they're not even playing around, they just throw out all their deadly fast punches and kicks until they manage to counter hit me or hit me low. one mistake and they get me, i can't even do a thing. sure i can sometime block low or parry low or dodge to sides or playdead to avoid high attack but all those are defensive method that is hard to do. isn't there an offensive method that can at least hit them fast enough to make them stop their attack? if i try punching them, to short, if i low kick, to slow. any idea how do i get out of this situation? also, there's one time where i fight against a really good Jin Kazama, the moment i get knocked to the ground, he only does two things which are spinning low kick attack that make me spin in the air and launching punch mid attack that made me fly to the air and if one of them hits me, i'm basically dead cuz its an attack that leads to huge combo. and he execute it pretty fast too, he hit me with those two attack, low, mid, low, mid whenever i'm on the ground. i can't do shit but to only guess which one he's gonna throw. and when it hits me, he does the combo and once again i'm on the ground, he do the same shit, low mid low mid. Can't Lei Wulong do something like that too? i mean i know that it is probably spamming but isn't there any move or attack that i can make my opponent fixated on the ground? also how do i get out of this situation whenever they do that to me when i'm on the ground?
He has a ton of moves but some pretty simple, reliable juggle combos. Good way to get the foot in the door without worrying about everything he has right away. Thanks!
Certain females like Xiaoyu, Lucky Chloe, and Eliza have different hitboxes which make Lei drop some of these combos (notably the d1 to BT 4,1 link). Here are my notes on the combos that didn't work: 1:55 uf3+4 -> BT 2 -> dash f3,1 -> ff3,4 has less carry, but is more consistent and 65 damage. Otherwise, you can only do BT 1+2 before BT 4,1. I've also found an interesting bug (as of 9/11/18) where the d1 link into BT 4,1 whiffs on everyone on Forgotten Realm and Devil's Pit. EDIT: This still exists in the 2.01 patch. 3:30 You can link f3,1 after TGR 4 to do regular combo/more damage. If need be, you can crouch cancel to get more time. 3:58 Again, dash f3,1 into ff3,4 is more damage. Otherwise, ignoring d1 and going straight into BT 4,4 works. 4:20 This one doesn't work at all. I use KSS 4 -> b4,1 -> ff3b -> BT 4,4. 5:51 ff3b -> BT 4,4 at the end gives 3 more damage and better oki. 6:15 Can't link any BT d1 into BT 4,1 besides the first one. I use CH BT d1 -> BT 2 -> dash f3,1 -> ff3,4 instead. Does the same amount of damage. 8:04 Can do regular juggle for same damage. 8:34 Must go straight to BT 4,4. No d1s allowed.

For newcomers, don’t worry so much about learning combos for characters like Lei, Eddy, Yoshimitsu, and Hwoarang. They focus more on shifting stances and confusing their enemy rather than comboing all the way across Infinite Azure.
People should pick him up now or during the season, he's fun to play fundamentaly and how evasive his moves are and if anything, is hard to read. He's really fun I'm telling ya go pick him up From Lei player
ok, here's the combo 67 dmg after df2: df2 f3,1 3(into Phoenix) b4 b4(guaranteed) Also after 3(Pxoenix) you can land and unlockable trap: f4. It's very hard to evade, almost guaranteed on 80 dmg combo. So you can do this trap after any f3,1. Why u didn't mention that? Also after lows from low stances: df2 df2 b2,4. It's simpler than instant ff3.
@@h3adcrabbio btw, if your target at the wall, it will hirt a lot. Especially, if it's right delayed, f3 will catch any wake up attempt. Without wall it is of course not guranteed, but it truly one of the best unblockable traps in tekken 7, since jin's got nerfed
Last back 4 isn't guaranteed, it'll get whiff punished if your opponent spring kicks after the 1st b4. However back turn 2 can beat it out, if timed right.

that double spin punch drops like crazy... i do that by double tapping the right trigger on my controller and it just drops for no reason it's inconsistent as shit.... i have to avoid doing combos that requires tapping the triggers

In a word? Frames. He simply just doesn't transition into his stances fast enough after doing moves that go into them to deal with the top tiers (Jin and Steve) who beat the stuffing out of Lei.

Uhm, really sorry you dislike this video so much. I tried my best and Lei is one of the most complex if not the most complex character in Tekken. You have to understand that I don't main the character, so I don't really know all of his options. On top I made the video the day the character came out, so there was not plenty of time to figure out every little detail about him. Regardless though I tried to do my very best to at least give people an idea of the character which is my intention with any video. None of my combos are optimized nor max damage, though they are helpful to start off with, especially for newbies. So I hope you understand that. Sorry for dissapointing you this much.

That's not guaranteed. You can can stand straight up and the second hit of PHX b4,4 will miss.

If you do uf3+4, BT d1 BT d1 BT d1 BT 4, 1 S! wr3,4 it's 65 damage, vs the 2 BT d1 at 62 damage.
I think it is character size, he uses two because it hits all characters. On smaller character more BT d1s will whiff. Or that's what I think it is.
