@@MikeBanom no, it's not faster, but I waited quite a long time for a fast portrait lens with fast (and silent!) AF. Replacing it makes no sense. Since I have the Viltrox 75/1.2, I prefer it over the 50/1.0, as it is silent. And sharp. Perhaps I am selling the 50/1.0 now.
I picked up the old version for 350£ as everyone's selling them cheap to upgrade to this one lol. As a hobby shooter who just wants some nice portraits of my family that's all good for me. Big up from England.
@@lumberjack3008 The AF of the old 56 f/1.2 is very reliable. It just isn't fast. Good for models that know how to pose. Not good for children running around.
nice review . i after finding this lens 2nd hand for 800 euro in mint condition so i think its a good price saving of 400 euro here in Ireland . this lens was not on my radar as i am only a hobbyist i was looking at the 50 mm f2 but i think the price on the 56 is too good to turn down ,
Such a special lens - sadly, I don't have a ton of models to shoot portraits with this lens, but my LinkedIn headshot work is incredible with this lens. Love the NYC photos so much man!!!!
AGREED! Fuji needs a 56mm f1.4 LM WR! [or f1.6]
Returned mine immediately after testing it. AF too loud, too slow. Very disappointing.
Staying with the 50/1.0.
Assuming the 50/1 has way faster AF? I never tried that lens, but would love to!

This is a pretty slick move if I do say so myself! What's your camera body?
If you don't need reliable, fast, confident and silent AF, the old 56/1.2 is a good choice.
@@lumberjack3008 Very true. But from what I've researched, the new one is a bit sharper too. If on XH2s, not an issue.

Sounds like a must buy for that price! I think you'll love this lens for sure!
That bokeh is insane at f1.2
Wait till you see it side by side compared to the GF110!
@@MikeBanom When will this happen?

Truly is a quality lens! When you visit NYC, we will go out shooting my friend!
My advice is set the lens on limit focus for the first 6 1/2 feet to infinity!
