I feel really sorry for Max (ben) as this storyline hits close to home for him as he lost his best friend 21 months ago to an undiagnosed brain tumour. ❤
Unfortunately in todays world of soap, they seem to be always making cuts to well popular characters just so they can bring in fresh new faces No idea why they decided to kill her off tho instead of letting her, Lexie & Jay leave Walford together

I liked that they had Callum defend Ben and make him have a backbone in that scene. That said, Callum's goodbye to Lola could have been so much better. Even in his goodbye, they made it more about Ben than his relationship and moments with Lola. But that's it; you know, the character is always badly treated. And of course they didn't even bother to show the character at the end of the ep.
He’s speaking /as Ben/ in this because Ben isn’t here & he feels guilty for not fighting Ben more on him leaving. He’s saying what he thinks Ben would want Lola to hear in her last minutes - that she and Lexi were the best things to ever happen to him & that they will all watch after Lexi. It’s not about his feelings in this but about him wanting to let Lola know if she’s even able to hear/comprehend what he’s saying that Ben loves her. Both he and Kathy are speaking as Ben’s voice in this. Kathy is iconic and she’s also being “used” as Ben’s voice in this. Idk I found this very moving … would I have wished it was longer? Yeah. But you can see how destroyed Callum is that he “allowed” Ben to leave not only for Ben’s sake, but the rest of the families sake & especially Lexi and Lola’s sake. That is just devastatingly sad and crushes me, especially when Callum couldn’t take it and walked out of the room. Both he and Ben are going to struggle with this - Ben feeling guilty af for leaving & Callum feeling guilty af for not trying to do more to get him not to leave.
@@mechellemybell1000 He could have done that and made it a more personal goodbye at the same time. I found it generic and without an ounce of emotion. "Both he and Ben are going to struggle with this" it will probably be more Ben because they always focus more on him. And Callum will go back to fulfilling its usual function.

Callum is usually overly empathetic in scenarios like this but he’s not able to due to the amount of guilt he feels - which is why he was drinking before he went to speak to her and why he left so quickly. It most likely will be how it affects ben more yeah - but you never fully know we’ll just have to wait and see lol. Still I found it to be really sad but moving… for him to be put in this position cause ben left & cause he feels like he didn’t do enough to stop him. Just imagine the heaviness of feeling like you didn’t try and stop Ben which led to him not being there to support Lexi in her mom’s last moments - obv it’s not Callum’s fault cause it’s not like he could have stopped Ben unless he chained him up.

I wouldn't have to wonder if they even once made the character talk about his feelings. But we never know anything about what Callum feels or thinks. I respect your opinion, but I disagree. I thought it was a very generic and emotionless scene.

I swear if Ben doesn’t show up on time, of course I’ll be disappointed in him despite knowing he really wanted to try and help Lola But ugh this will be a learning lesson for him if he came back and he’s too late to say his goodbyes 💔
Did you watch the episode? It wasn’t about Ben at all. Some of you will really just complain about anything. They’re mentioning Ben here because his father, mother, and husband have gathered in the home where his daughter lives to say goodbye to the woman he shares a child with. They likely wouldn’t be in Lola’s life if it weren’t for her relationship with Ben.
