Welcome back! This was bloody brilliant and absolutely worth the wait. Also, I am so happy to hear you still using Vulfpeck songs. Your Bonneville video back in 2015 was the first time I ever heard them, and they quickly became one of my favorite bands of all time. I've now seen them live 5 times, including their legendary MSG show in 2019. So thank you for introducing so much joy into my life!
Oh mate, I'm so glad to hear that. But also insanely jealous that you've seen them so many times. They've never been to Australia. What else have you been listening to that you'd recommend? Might be worth looking into 'Knower' and their clip of 'I'm the President'. The singer makes me want to claw my eyes out but the rest of the band is INCREDIBLE.
@@StrangelyBrownNo1 Thanks for the reply! I am actually a big fan of the solo work of Knower's Louis Cole (who is NOT the singer of "I'm the President" haha). The bands Jungle and Justice have also been topping my personal charts lately.
I'm not into motorcycles anymore after I sold my W650, but I will still fully enjoy this video as the comedy is just brilliant. Please, more videos! I don't care if you make a video about your toaster or your other mistakes.
Dude, the EFFORT you put into your video's is incredible. That workshop manual must have taken you forever! So impressed. Please please make complete Workshop Manuals for us poor techies, so we can laugh while we work. Once again, thanks for this awesome video. You're the best.
I've been intensity watching motovids since hopping on my 125cc four months ago and this is one of the best I've seen. Please do more. Please. Thanks ya gala
Marlon! You rock dude. Like my brother across the pond, I have a W650 (2 actually) an ‘06 carbed Bonnie T100, a Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, and a Kawasaki Z900RS Café. (saw a sneak shot at the end). Great and entertaining videos. Just watched them all. 👍🏻👍🏻
Four plus years…and the wait is over! America finally got the W800 in 2020, and I bought one (mostly) because of your review. Still have it to this day, and you were absolutely right, “it’s a terrific bike to own.” Sorry you had to go from that to a damn out-of-warranty pasta cooker.
Woah, new vid from Marlon ! Funny you should post now, because you're the man who made me discover Vulfpeck, and two weeks ago, I've been to their first ever concert here in France. It was an absolute blast, they hit the ball out of the park. Their first live here was unforgettable. And in my case, it's thanks to you that I could live this cool moment. So thanks, mate.
Hey Marlon, thanks so much for another video, I haven't laughed this hard at a motorbike review vid since... Well... Since your last one. Thanks for putting out another absolute classic. Quality over quantity. 😍
No other motorcycle reviewer comes close to Marlon for sheer entertainment. It also helps that all the issues mentioned are completely relatable and described using laser guided metaphor to keep us coming back for more.
For all its flaws, I will still take it. Rode one through the hills of Tuscany to Mugello for a MotoGP race. On the way back, I rode amongst the most hooligan but charming crowd of motorcyclists, and the Scrambler despite being the slowest bike Ducati makes still was super fun while duking it out with the other GP fans. My brain will forever associate it with positive memories now.
Killer comment. I spent a few weeks on a XR250 on the Vietnamese/Chinese border and wasn't much of a fan of the bike. But I had the absolute time of my life and love the damn thing as a result. Glad you enjoyed your time with the Scrambler - like boats or redheds, they're better to rent than to own.
I’ve got a 2019 FT and I love it’s pretty much an all rounder no issues with throttle and fuelling super smooth. So much fun probable one of the most fun bikes I’ve had and I’ve had a lot. The bike is good looking, it’s definitely not a budget bike it’s got so much power. I don’t think anyone buying should go with this review he not being honest trust me. (Only thing you need to change is seat and exhaust)
Between the release of Marlon's Bonneville video and this review, I've bought and sold a scrambler icon, followed by 3 other bikes. The man's right about Every. Single. Point. Especially the engine heat and those unreasonable service intervals. Thanks Marlon, I was thinking of buying another scrambler, but this video reminded me why I sold it! Also, the guy who bought my scrambler had the lower cylinder rapidly disassemble itself after a desmo service.
Ah mate it warms my heart that you agree. I've been told the engine heat isn't too bad as 'they're air-cooled and they're all like that'. Certainly hasn't been my experience when riding air-cooled bikes for 20 years. The thing was monstrous in traffic. Weirdly enough I sold my Scrambler to a friend a year back and still ride it from time to time. As you say it is fun and it can be charming but i'm really glad I don't own mine anymore. Also holy shit that No1 cylinder shitting the bed is fucking bad. I hope he got compensated somehow?
hey, i had a bonnie 865, same as your 1st report. i used to service it myself n used to get extremely irritated doing so n used to question the design flaws. but then i thot, if i cribb, i m not a true biker. but the day i saw ur report. i realised i m not the only 1 suffering so i sold it n got myself an honda africa twin dct. admire the way u call a spade a spade.

Brilliantly done. Again. You have no clue this many inebriated biker nights have featured the video from nearly a decade ago. This is for the next one. Cheers!
WORTH. THE. WAIT. 😍 Also, this encapsulates the reason I've just gone back to a Japanese bike after 10 years of exciting but expensive and frustrating relationships with Italian brands ;-) I also really, really want to believe that was a genuine first draft of the HBoL (Haynes Book of Lies for those that don't know ;-) That's DEFINITELY the right part number for the valve clearance tool tho 😉
Shit yeah. My sister tried to daily ride an MV Augusta which went about as well as you'd imagine. If I had the money to keep one on the road I'd... yeah I'd probably stay Japanese. Well spotted on the manual! I actually have quite a few pages of that all written out but they didn't make the cut on the video.
Ian Curtis. Lead singer of the incredible band 'Joy Division'. Had really bad epilepsy and he'd kind of... mimic the movements on stage when he danced. He took his own life before the band got really big. Part of me feels bad about the gag, but I'll 'shake' it off.
Haha great review I’m 64 been riding dirt/ steet 49 yrs just purchased the 24 full throttle & for me it perfect to blast around easy to get on nibble & quick No dead spots on the new ones Runs flawless . Always been a Japan faithful But hate the way all the new ones look so for 14k. It’s not like it’s crazy priced . I ain’t going on no highway more then 2 hrs & the claimed 408 lbs is all a plus for this old motocrosser 😂⚡️
I bought a monster new many years ago and I swear you could watch it rot in real time. Also z900's are lovely (aside from some set up quirks I didn't like) don't know about the 650's
Wake up honey! Marlon remembered the password to his UA-cam account!

It happened!
See you again in 4 years, Marlon!
Wake up babe!! Marlon is at it again!

Ladies and gentlemen, he's back
The king of bike reviews returns! So many little nuggets in here, the workshop manuals had me in stitches.
Thanks mate. That's my very favourite bit.
Best editing ever. Love the comparisons. They are absurdly creative.
Marlon wakes up every 4 years to thrash on a motorcycle and I'll be here every time
And then I just hibernate on a bed made from old crank pins and motorcycle seats.
He’s the hero UA-cam deserves not the one they need right now
Or the hero we needed like, 4 years ago for that matter.
Fuuuuucc He is BACK!!!
It's like I never left.
Thank you thank you. I, nah, the world is richer for having you express your opinion. 👌🏼❤️
Keep ‘em coming mate. 👍🏼
Holy Cow! Marlon's out on parole and making videos again! What happened to the Peak Hipster bike? This Hipster needs to know what to do!
Welcome back!
And thank you (again) for your W800 review. You more than anyone else convinced me to buy one (I bought a 2022 Street) and I love it.
Oh that makes me happy. They're wonderful things.
