      @brian.d.mobley  Рік тому +1

      Hi Spedest. Sorry to read about the clutch bolt. I have never had much trouble removing one of those. Use an impact driver and a clutch basket holder (if you can find one) and it should come out. You can try heating it too, but be VERY careful as you don’t want to overdo it. The clutch basket cover is aluminum and can warp if overheated.

    Brian, If just wanted to change 3rd gear (kart racer) to a billet gear would I still have to completely remove the crank?

    • @brian.d.mobley
      @brian.d.mobley  2 роки тому

      Hi Aaron. I’ve not heard of a billet gear on a kart, so I’m not exactly sure what you mean. Is this the drive gear that connects to the chain or some kind of billet aluminum transmission gear? In either case the crank should not be affected. If it’s the former, changing the drive gear is pretty simple. If it’s the later, the transmission can be removed for gear changing while the crank remains in place. Hope that helps.

    My head bolts are super tight. Any tips? Don’t want to strip them. Are they reverse thread? I have 2005 cr85

    • @brian.d.mobley
      @brian.d.mobley  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Henroo. They are NOT reverse thread!!! Dont turn them the wrong way!!! Those studs can get pretty rusty. Have you seen the "double nut" technique where you tighten two nuts against each other on the end of the stud and loosen? I have sheared studs off myself and its total bummer. If they dont come out using this technique, add heat to the surrounding aluminum. Even this is not always successful. But, heat and double nutting and being strong are the best techniques I have found.
