    ‘Femininomenon’ is such a fun track so I’m really glad it broke onto the Hot 100. This means Chappell Roan now has six simultaneous entries on the chart. Long may this success for her continue! ❤

    The most impressive thing about ‘Alibi’ debuting on the Hot 100 is that it features four different languages (English, French, Spanish and Portuguese). Wouldn’t be surprised if this is some kind of record, but nonetheless, I’m all for seeing more multilingual diversity in the charts!

      @@anamelessyoutuber1462 I'd definitely take this over the Rudimental and Ella Henderson collab of the same name. On the other hand, 'The Alibi' by DYLAN is one of my favourite songs of 2024 to date.

    It's too bad Jon Bellion didn't have someone else produce this otherwise good song, Who. Jimin's vocals are so impressive that Who still shines even with all the compressing and processing. The only thing that saves the MV is the exceptional dancing. The rest of it could have come out of a cheaply redone Marvel superhero movie

    Shaboozey took the number 1 Country radio airplay spot for the week ending the 3rd. That is where the numbers for A Bar Song came from. Second, I heard the live version of the song, and it is much better sounding country song without all the over production of the studio album. It seems that the songs these days sound better live than on the studio albums.

    Ok guys, the Top 10 IS now starting to become a little bit stale, which normally in any other year, I'd have a problem with, but honestly, with how many events we've had in music this year, Im not nearly as annoyed this year.
    I mean, just think about it: We've had a Hozier comeback, The Rap Beefs, including one with the most acclaimed vs most popular rapper, Sabrina Carpenter after a whole-ass decade in the industry being the main pop girl of 2024 not named Taylor Swift in a year where Beyonce, Ariana, Billie, Dua, etc, ALL RELEASED PROJECTS, Chappell Roan being the biggest breakout artist, 2 country songs by Black Artists reaching the Top Spot, Post Malone going country, etc, so a cooldown from all of THAT was bound to happen eventually. It happens.

    Interesting to see him say no one's voice in Stray Kids sticks out when Felix has one of the most unique voices in kpop. Maybe he meant he doesn't like any of their voices in general.

    • @lilmissdifferent99
      @lilmissdifferent99 2 місяці тому +3

      I was thinking the same thing! 🤣🤣🤣
      I even brought up Felix last time they charted! He might not be the best rapper in the group (on a technical level - and yes, I do say that as someone who biases him) is deep voice instantly grabs your attention, and with fitting production, he's an easy standout.
      'God's Menu' is the probably most famous example of his voice being utilized. To non/new k-pop listeners, brace yourselves on that one - it's a lot to take in (I know it was for me at first). There's also 'MANIAC' (the first SKZ song I ever heard - long before I started following this group), and while that song isn't bombastic, Felix's voice still pacts quite a punch, especially in the hook.
      I'd also list out b-sides or other album tracks, but this comment's long enough as it is.

    Song Recommendation: Starship Syncopation-Cory Wong, Jules Buckley, and Metropole Orkest
    This is another discovery I found in my UA-cam recommened recently, got curious about it because I have a tendency to like songs about space though that's a story for another day, and I'm impressed. I don't have a lot to say about this one because it's an instrumental song. But it's damn good for what's essentially a skeleton. The song's a rad disco tune with strings and everything. After listening to this, I was curious to find out what the rest of this artist's work was like, so I checked out the whole album this song came from. You must've done a good job if you made me interested in an album by you with one song that doesn't have words. Oh, that leads me to the next part.
    Album Thoughts: Starship Syncopation-Cory Wong
    I had a fun time with it. Fender: "It's like a fusion of jazz and disco." Sell By Date and Chateau are other highlights. Are those saxophones I hear? And Electric Kif? No way, I got into that show earlier this year.

    Music-Related Movie Trailer Thoughts: Trap
    Late one, I know. Critic reviews might already be out. The thing about this one is that I've seen the trailers show up in my recommended, and I heard it was about a concert or something, and I thought, "is this a Die Hard/Gremlins type of music-related movie?" But I didn't care enough to find out if it was. Then I saw the trailer for it when I got dragged to the thing that Ain't No Love in Oklahoma came from, and found out it is indeed a music-related movie. Guess I'll talk about it. Sorry Bob Dylan. Next week. The guy who directed The Last Airbender is more important.
    As for the trailer, I must say it made me look more forward to Piece by Piece and the A24 movie. This film looks lame. I love how I once said, "hopefully we get more good music-related movies this year," and then M. Night Shyamalan came in. Oh, and did you know this film moved up a week than when it was originally supposed to come out? I'd love to meet the movie executive who went "You know what we, a financially struggling studio, should do with this movie? Move it closer to the biggest blockbuster of the year. But we can't open it on the same week as It Ends With Us though. That film is Avengers: Endgame for Karens and boomers." Why does that thing have it's own cardboard theater standee?
    I should add when I saw Twisters, the other trailers they showed were Borderlands and nothing else. It was probably the worst trailer selection I've recieved in my life. Hopefully when I see movies I actually wanted to see in theaters later this week, they don't make weird trailer selections. (A few days later.) Why are they playing a trailer for a family movie before an r-rated film?
    Oh, and I took a look at the second trailer. I think I figured out the iconic M. Night Shyamalan twist.

    Predictions for next week: Looks like we might get somewhat of a an album bomb for Ice Spices Y2K project. If not, then at least two songs or one should definitely debut like the one with Travis Scott on it. There's a chance that Did It First with Central Cee would get a boost from the album and Think U The Sh*t (Fart) would possibly come back due to the album too.
    Post Malone's new lead off single for his upcoming album F1 Trillion called Guy For That with Luke Combs will definitely debut next week and very high as well.
    Same goes for the new collaborative single from mgk and Jelly Roll called Lonely Road as well.
    Possibly a couple songs from Mustards new album which should give Parking Lot with Travis Scott a boost up the chart.
    New single from Gordo and Drake called Sideways has a chance of debuting too. Maybe that new Lil Yachty and Ian track?
    Trippie Redd's new single might debut next week but I doubt it.

    Next week might be even quieter as I'm not sure Ice Spice is guaranteed to get much of an album impact beyond "Did It First" getting a small boost, and the biggest debut will likely come from Post Malone teaming with Luke Combs in the continued buildup for the album coming out in two weeks and also giving me the feeling that it might be a country collaboration project with both mainstream and indie country artists.

    1) Shaboozey has officially surpassed one of Beyoncé's many records since "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" has lasted 3 weeks (2 of them being consecutive) at the #1 spot. You love to see it! 🤓
    2) "Lose Control" (#8) is about to make it to the 52-week mark. It's expected to be *the* #1 song of 2024! Jack Harlow's painfully dull "Lovin on Me" (#37) is expected to be the #2 song of 2024.
    3) Stray Kids and Jimin have never had songs on the Billboard Hot 100 that stuck around for very long. In fact, the former have never had a song that stuck around on the Billboard Hot 100 for more than a week! If the summer lull doesn't change things, then it will just be more of the same. 😬

    Gonna do something different this time since we only have 7 new arrivals. I'm going to list all of them from worst to best with reasons.
    BOTW: Apple - This is really the only song I actually LIKED this week. Mainly because it actually sounds fun to listen to.
    HM: Alibi - The next 2 songs are fine, but they're not for me. I think this one better than the other because this actually tries something interesting, in that there are several different languages in a song. Good job to these guys.
    Femininomenon (whatever this ass title is) - This is fine, but those constant "play the fucking beats" are annoying. Man, Chappell Roan is overrated. Yep, I said it.
    Misses - If anyone says it's bad, you're only saying it because it's too short. While I agree that it's a bit short, it sounds okay enough.
    Chk Chk Boom - These last 3 songs I did not like. This one is the most tolerable. I will say the percussion on this reminded me of a reggaeton song, but I don't know why. Either way, it doesn't really work for me.
    DM: Who - You guys can cheer for Jimin all you want, but I cannot stand his voice here. Didn't like it on his song from a few weeks ago, and not here either.
    WOTW: Help Me - Oh mumble rap, where have you been hiding? And can you please go back there? Anyways, this guy sounds like a poor man's BossMan Dlow. RBR sounds like he's struggling to breathe.
    God this week was mediocre as hell. Next week, we've got collabs from Post Malone and Luke Combs, and mgk and Jelly Roll. Maybe a thing or two from the Ice Spice album. We'll wait and see what comes next week.

  • @riahlexington
    @riahlexington 2 місяці тому +9

    The vocal mix is so bad, HYBE won’t train their vocalists sadly. Jimin has potential but they’re masking his flaws instead of actually training him.
    Stray Kids is good, I’m ok with them sticking around! Check out some of their old songs like Miroh, Changbin’s rapping is definitely impressive. Anyway, I’m gonna check out Alibi, never heard of those artists, but it sounds cool.

    • @crystalsnow1138
      @crystalsnow1138 2 місяці тому +5

      Jimin has spoken about this recently (well the interview was done last year before he enlisted in the military) saying he's been practicing and retraining how to sing so he doesn't strain his voice. He even said he will probably have to change the way he sings older BTS songs to avoid hurting his voice. Jimin has always been so hard on himself about his voice and I think he's always trying to improve. I actually don't think they are masking his flaws they are just using autotune when it's not really needed even if it's just a stylistic choice, when he sings without the autotune his voice sounds better in my opinion. Like for his live performance of Who he had no autotune and he sounded fine.

      @@crystalsnow1138 I see, fair enough. I’m glad he’s working on it. I know he’s in the military right now. Either way, I’m just annoyed with HYBE not vocal training their artists.
