- Lucky for all of us, the design usually protects us from things like this but if you hear it, stop immediately and fix it before using your mower again!

My last one (literally) I put a coat of Permatex #2 on it to seal it off. It was warped and/or the gasket was shot but that sealed it off. Hope you're not scorched out yet. Still 70's here but soggy. Come get all you want! Thanks, Willum!
That can be pretty tricky to get a good seal and not fill the little air hole. It's middle 90s and raining every day. That's a little cool but mostly normal for this time of year in Dallas. I keep telling myself that I will miss the rain when it stops, and it stops for the entire summer
@@GuysPlayingWithTools It's every 2 to 3 days here or during the night. 70's and 80's. Not time for 90 yet. I bored out the hole in the carb with a drill to give it a little more room, like a countersink really and laid the #2 to it's hide around it. That fixed that. I broke off the throttle and had ordered a new cheap one. It ran good but the propell died and I about did. All gone now.
Good one, Bill. I thought you were headed to telling us about a sheared key on the flywheel after hitting a rock with the blade. I've hit rocks and it shears the key (or distorts it enough that the timing is off). When attempting to start a mower with a broken or sheared flywheel key, it will kick and then tear the cord out of your hand at incredible speed, often causing hand injury. The loose blade bolt is also very much a worry. Channel is doing good and you're looking great for 82!
I still don't know how that blade was loose. They usually tighten themselves up nicely when running, but when you see it in person. It's hard to say it can't happen
82? Ouch. I think I look good for 72, maybe even 52. 🤣

Nice tip on primer gasket✔️
IT's one of those things that you don't realize until you are left scratching your head one day. Airbox primers are for the birds.
Sound advice and it runs great now.
Thanks. 🙂
Nice job Bill, a lot of times if the blade adapter breaks and the blade is loose it doesn't hurt to check the flywheel key.
Especially when the pull rope snatches out of your hand. I'm no expert, like Renaldo but we try. 🤣🤣
I have no idea how they get loose, all I can think is someone screwed up. If it were a Honda I might have been tempted to pull the top and check the key. 👍
You don't have to worry, Renaldo approved the fix 😁🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Great video, I like the colors on that Poulan Pro.
It was a pretty good looking mower, red gets boring when you see it every time.
I noticed you just side "wire" but I no what kind of WIRE! And of course there's that freaking Coke🤔
I am down to 3 sodas a day, that's not toooo bad. LOL. I will make sure the FLORAL wire gets it's props in the next video 🤣
@@GuysPlayingWithTools Wow Bill I had the same addiction this is my first year I've cut it down to 1! Hopefully I can get down to maybe 3-4 a week🤔
@bigsonslawncare To me, 3 a day is ok, especially when I spend more than half my day outside in the heat. I probably go through at least 1/2 a gallon of sugar free kool-aid every day too but at least it's low-cal.
What a coincidence Bill, Big Son's has had the kool-aid too. 🤣🤣
@@Big_Johns I am pretty sure my and Big Son have a different idea of what the term "kool aid" means 😲🤣
Ta for the video bill
🙂
My mower had that issue, easy fix
The blade noise? I still haven't figured out how they get loose, but I see it often enough to know it does.
@@GuysPlayingWithTools yep the pins on the boss getting sheared off and the blade becoming loose.
@almclean4835 Did you hit anything with the blade? I am curious about how it happens. All I can come up with is kickback while trying to start it
@@GuysPlayingWithTools that was my guess as to what had happened. Not 100% sure though
@almclean4835 I am hoping to find a couple of people who have had this happen to them on their mower and can tell me about the history before it happened. It's great info for later
That is the truth about the blade adapter on riding mowers except the push mower is direct connection to the engine out put shaft where as the blades on the riding mower are belt driven and the adapter is either a 5 or a 6 point Star adapter or the MTD made strange blade adapter
I have seen a few different adapters along the way but on all of them we need to make sure any unusual noises from the mower are investigated before using it 👍
@@GuysPlayingWithTools you got that right Bill 💸💵 especially on a walk behind mower My craftsman gt tractor had a bad blade spindle on the discharge side when I got it the 5 Star adapter was chewed up even Saw that on a mower that I worked on for a lady
I Still need to buy a cordless impact driver. Heard you mention off hand “it’s set on 3”. What does that refer to?
I love the Milwaukee 3/8. It's got enough for basic shop work and it's super portable.
It has 4 settings, the first is drill, the next 3 are impact settings, and 3 is the highest.
Nice vid bill, no mind to to Renaldo he just draw to much.
Intek. A Quantum that they tried to change from a flathead to OHV. WHY? Idk. Beginning of the decline of Briggs & Stratton.
That's gospel. You can still buy a flathead Quantum, but they are crazy expensive now
@@GuysPlayingWithTools I know a guy who has 15 of them stockpiled.
@haneyoakie14 Cool, send them my number 😁
I am lucky enough to see a lot of them here
Bill, thats one of the worst looking mowers ive seen you get to repair. Its going to need some of your TLC before that ones ready to sell. 👍🎥🇺🇸
I dunno, I kinda liked the colors, but It needed a good bit of work before I sold it(at a discount). It's nice to get one that isn't red now and then.
