You could just slice circle to half or closed arc and then extrude edge

I think the tutorial's number is messed up - the packing and procedural archway are both named Houdini for Noobs 13.
Anyways it's a great series I'm loving it :)

If I want to export the model in other programs like c4d, what's the best way to solve the n-gon problem and have a clean topology?

ffschannel triangulate it
