I was born in 2004, and watched queer as folk for the first time in 2024 and everything about it made me feel so connected and appreciative of queer culture and queer history 😭 even after 20+ years after the shows debut I can’t find anything else as good or relatable as it.
I was 18 years old when I was introduced to this incredible series. I was in the military during the don’t ask to tell era. This series allowed me to be true to myself and come out of the closet.
I'm one of those who watched the show this year and finished all 5 seasons in a week. I love the show so much. Brian, Justin and debbie are my life I love them so much. I wish I had a community and friends like that 😫
Mariio M I'm British so I watched our version first which is super short so I decided to watch the US version and I loved it. Better than the UK version for sure!
I just watched the whole series myself and although I'm a fan, I got really annoyed with Brian Kinney's character. Yeah I know, everyone loves him, but his constant whiny - cranky bitchy attitude (especially watching 5 episodes in a row of it) gets REALLY annoying until about mid - season 4...
I loved this show and after each episode I'd go on line into the forum and talk for hours with fans about the episode. Those were the days. Wish this show was still on. I was into Brian and Justin.
IKR !!! i am so sad i can't do that-- like how if there was a new gay series like young royals, everyone would be pressed into it everywhere and u can discuss more about it but now no one is into it that much, :((
when i first saw the show on netflix i was all like "It's an old show i probably wont like it" but once i watched it, i couldn't stop. I saw things different. I saw how people back then had to deal with stuff and how they felt. Me personally, I can relate to the character Brian more than any other character. Me and that character have a lot in common and similar thoughts. This show opened my mind more. I was so sad how it ended and i realized that the shows old so there won't be another season, you don't understand the mental breakdown i had lmao. but me and a young gay girl i realized a lot more and i'm thankful i started watching this show when i did.
Watched this back in 2010 when I was a lost 20 year old queer. Rewatched this last month and finished all 5 season in 2 weeks, I still miss all of them. I resonate so much with this show, great times.
I was 7 when this came out, I used to sneakily stay up late to watch it on the 'cultural' channel at 2am. Pretty sure it had a huge impact on who I am today. It's making me oddly emotional to see them all reunited like this.
@@ticketyboo2456 Very true. The UK started the show and created the idea behind it, but I'll admit, I didn't like the UK one as much and I didn't resonant with the UK cast as much as I did with the US one. The US one was much more relatable ✌️
I still watch this show til this very day and it still helps me with things I'm going through. It gave me an outlet growing up and it showed me honestly how to be me ❤❤❤
I watched the British one a year ago and then stumbled across the American one about 2 weeks ago. I've been binge watching it ever since. I'm absolutely in love with the characters and the family relationship among them. By far my all time favourite show x I've already recommended it to a ton of my friends who usually just go for the new Netflix stuff.
I remember hearing about the show and it was going to be on Showtime. I had it at the time so I decided to watch. I only got to see the first season but I always remembered it. Tv series were starting to come out on dvd so I decided to see if I could find it. I found it on Amazon as a whole five season set. I was so excited, I immediately purchased it and binged the rest of the seasons. I don't know how many times I cried and laughed. I love those boys so much. I've watched the whole series a few times now and will probably binge them again in the future. I miss this show.
When I was a baby, reruns of the show came on TV sometimes or at least they must’ve been reruns as I don’t think my parents had QAF DVDs lying around but I grew up as a baby and toddler watching this and the L word. My mom wanted me to see diversity on TV and thought these were good shows while explaining concepts when I was old enough to have real conversations about it. Ik it’s not the typical story of being a fan but still. I recently just got back into the show and I instantly fell in love again. And apparently my love for Vic, Michael and Brian hasn’t changed since childhood. I’m forever grateful this show exists and grateful the original RTD show exists or this show wouldn’t. I may not necessarily be the target audience seeing as I wasn’t even born when the show first started coming out, but this show provides a comfort no other show has given me. It’s a lovely creation and a labor of love
i just watched this masterpiece recently and as a straight fan of this series i just loved them..and definitely its one of my favourite series & always will be.. i will watch it over n over as i cant get over from this glorious series ..❤❤ i missed them so much and wanted to see them again as in new season or any other special movie about them 😭 love brian & justin ❤💘just want to see their ending..and wish that might they get along with each other 😥
Omg! I really miss them! Cant believe they still make a reunion about this series till this year! N its awesome! Thanks for uploading tjis. N im curious about their lives now 😢😍
I remember being a young closeted teen, waiting for my parents to go to bed so I could flip the tv to Showtime & with the volume down SO low, and with my finger on the remote’s “back button” at all times. I’d hungrily tune in to watch my favorite show. 😅 Now as a 35 year old I can watch QAF whenever I want, so there! Haha
That is EXACTLY what I did too in high school 😂 I would try and do things to make mum go to bed earlier like have all the dishes done and kitchen cleaned up. 10pm Monday nights on SBS in Australia 😁
brian came a long way in the series. but i loved emmett he was so flamboyant but was also such a sweetie! reminded me of a close friend i had back in the day. i miss him so much..
I started watching it in Canada in 2005 and and now I still watch the reruns I might be straight but I don’t hate I loved the cast of this show it’s in an incredible show love it
i watched this show when i was 15, in 2009!! and at the time I really believe they would made another season but that never happen :( i can't believe how good they all looks! specially Randy (Justin) he's like 40 but still looks so young! Gale would look better without the beard but at the same time he looks kinda sexy lol i'm emotional.
I started watching this show in 2014 when I skipped school. I ended up finishing all five seasons in like 3 days and still constantly watch it. I really want a revival!!!! The UK got theirs, now we need ours!!!!!!!
I did not know there was a "reunion" episode until today. I still and will always love this show. I've seen it so many times. Far above the British version which I have also seen.
Advice for anyone watching this show now on streaming services - try to get your hands on the DVDs. The streaming services do not have the rights to most of the music and the music on this show was so iconic and was like another main character. I watched this when it aired and have all the DVDs and tried to watch it on NF and couldn't get through the first few eps as the songs were horrible and didn't fit the scenes. I went back to my DVDs.
Never knew there was a USA version. Always thought it was just a UK thing. I know many UK ideas are adopted & adapted by the USA. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
watching the show i learned so much about my own community before i even came out. i feel that when i did i already knew so much about acceptance, respect and some bumps we could find in our paths
When i started watch this series in my country i was kind of socked at the beginning of my early LGBT time but then as the series goes on i more started to have connections of the characters and the emotional parts of them. I think this series is a blast and it's worth to watch either LGBT or not peoples.
1:49 he is such a sunshine omg i'm crying
Still so beautiful!
He' still sunshine☀️
Yes he is ! ☀️
He still looks the same. Like he never ages after the pilot

So beautifully said, a truly brilliant work of art, I love it!

Im such an addict to this series.. im so happy to see the cast again.. brings back memories of the series.
Randy is 40 now , man he still looks young
yeah looks justin is still in his teens
the actors who play justin and ted look almost exactly the same
Ben also....
Melanie and Linsy also
lmao. Justin looks like TED? The SHADE of it all...
Pretty much all of them have not changed much. Debbie ( Sharon Gless) is still spot on the same. Just ad that trademark red wig.
To me just emmett and michael look like changed most but most still same
I'm one of those who watched the show this year and finished all 5 seasons in a week. I love the show so much. Brian, Justin and debbie are my life I love them so much. I wish I had a community and friends like that 😫

i’m glad i’m not the only one that finished in a week! 🤣
@@robbylewis6937 Not everyone loved him.
I was like 16-18 y.o. when I started watching this show....This series taught me about life. I love and miss all the characters!!
Aww 😭makes me want to watch it all over again! I was also one of those people that watched it late in life lol 3 years ago binged all seasons !
I could watch Randy smiling like that forever. (1:49-1:52)
I loved this show and after each episode I'd go on line into the forum and talk for hours with fans about the episode. Those were the days. Wish this show was still on. I was into Brian and Justin.
I didn't recognize Brian. It is more than a series, I felt that each episode had to discuss an idea
IKR !!! i am so sad i can't do that-- like how if there was a new gay series like young royals, everyone would be pressed into it everywhere and u can discuss more about it but now no one is into it that much, :((
The actor who played Ted aged adorably.
He didn’t age and randy as well

Fuck Netflix latin america.. we couldn't watch QAF because they didn't include it
i have a very similar experience as yours! this show really resonates with me and I love it so much 🥺💓
Omg. I'm just watching it. I'm in the third season and now I know the end is sad 😢
but did you watch the original UK version? The US version is really not great compared to the original
Watched this show like 5 years ago. And I legit watch it still. Its my comfort show. Makes me feel so happy 🥲
Randy Harrison looks gorgeous, So does Gale Harold.❤
Still addicted to this Couple & show. *MAKE* *A* *QAF* *MOVIE* Please!

Randy drinking from the fountain of youth! Wow!
I was 7 when this came out, I used to sneakily stay up late to watch it on the 'cultural' channel at 2am.
Pretty sure it had a huge impact on who I am today.
It's making me oddly emotional to see them all reunited like this.
It’s because of that show that my husband came out at 58…..and met me and now 20 years of love ….thanks guys ❤
Watched in oz ,thought Justin too close for comfort , I loved you all and sweated on the show every week . It gave strength to all of your fans👍
Queer as folk is the best! Forever! 🥰😍❤️❤️
This show was so groundbreaking and was huge in paving the way to the acceptance we see today. God bless the cast and creators.
Sweetie you should give credit to the original and groundbreaking show from, yes ya guessed it the UK...

2:00 its actually crazy because the clothes and the hairstyles have made a complete return
Back in the early 2000’s things were so different. This show was there for me as well! It made me feel like things were gonna be ok.
Thanks, subbed.
