Calling out a fighter at a lower weight class has never been looked at as a challenge.. David has missed weight several times, tested positive, and has caused himself the oppurinty to build a strong Mexican fan base.. If he wants to make a statement move to 175 and beat a champion there..

Canelo is more apt to take the lesser risk when theres an option or at least what he sees as an easier path to a title. To skip the Charlos, Benavides, and Andred speaks volumes to me about what his priorities were and it wasn’t about fighting the best available opponents. It was about wjat he saw as the easiest path to picking up belts and paychecks while giving the perception that he wanted to show the world he is the best mexican fighter ever. The problem is J C Chavez for however weak his early opponents were would have never skipped over anyone let alone the best his divisions had to offer. Nor would have any of the all time greats.
