- How to flush cooling system of your car the right way? It is important that you flush your cooling system once in a while to prevent rust build up inside your engine. Changing the radiator coolant isn't complicated and is quite easy.
In this video, I will show you how to do a radiator flush by yourself without any specialized hand tools. This DIY coolant change video tutorial is ideal for both beginners and seasoned mechanics.

There is a confusion whether Top1 Long Life Coolant is concentrated or pre-mix (ready to use) brand. The seller told me that I need to mix water but the instruction said pour directly to the radiator. If this confuses you, please make sure that your coolant is concentrated (50:50 dilution). If it is concentrated, then you may follow the instruction in this video. If your coolant is pre-mix ready to use brand, then no need to add water.

I would keep flushing until clear water drains out and then put in consentrated anti freeze which is about 50% of the mixture needed to mix with the clear water in the engine block. I didn’t understand epwhat you were saying but the closed caption was very good. Very good video.

Yung technique naman na ginawa ko is hinahayaan ko magdrain yung tubig habang umaandar ang makina, tapos nirerefill lang sa taas. Tapos after maubos ung isang galon na tubig, hayaan ko na lang hanggang wala ng tumulo (mga 5 mins habang binabantayan ko lang yung temperature gauge. After that, palalamigin ko yung makina bago ko irefill. Tapos buksan uli ang makina para bumukas ang thermostat at magbleed ang hangin.

Actually pinoproblema ko din FX ko nag iinit.

Followed your tutorial sir, pero dalawang beses ko inulit ung pag fflush using distilled water, hanggang sa luminaw na yung lumalabas, may mga sediments din kasi na sumasama. Good point sir yung part na dapat mainit ung makina sabay bukas ng petcock para open ang thermostat lumalabas din yung mga natirang coolant sa loob ng engine block.
Yes sir Justine. Yung iba nga eh 3 hanggang 4 na beses pa inuulit ang flushing para siguradong malinis ung system. Kaya maganda talaga na DIY ang pag change ng coolant. Kasi pag pinagawa mo sa iba, siguradong mali ang pag-flush.

@@NoahsGarage Tsaka pag DIY sir, sigurado mo na maayos mo gagawin, wala ako masamang tinapay sa mga gumagawa sa labas pero di ako kontento dun sa flushing ng montero ko kasi ang ginawa lang drain tapos replace na agad coolant. Eh kanina pag flush ko grabe dami sediments sa loob.
Nag aabang pa ko ibang DIY Tutorial mo sir. Next project ko yung sa rear differential oil.
Kung parehas tayo ng model sir, ung drain plug iwasan mo ma loss thread. Ung sa video ko kasi na rounded ung bolt. Allen head kasi bolt ng drain plug. So extra careful ka. Dapat pukpukin mo muna ng malakas several times, kusang luluwag ang bolt then screw mo na ng allen wrench. Me specialize tool na hammer jan na pang mechanics talaga. Pero kung wala, ung katulad na lang nung akin ang gamitin mo.

you added the final coolant which is less than 8 liters which means that the engine has pure distilled water remaining when you did the flushing. which means if the engine block has about 5 liters of pure distilled water, shouldnt we place about the same amount of concentrate so that we can equalize the 50 50 requred coolant?

Boss kung gusto na mas matngal ung coolantnsa engine blck mas mganda tangalin nyo nlng ung thermostnt sa gilid 3 screw lng un mas safe pa sa makina un malamig. Dlikado ung normal temperator makina tapos drain nyo matutuyo ung sa cylnder head. Tapos. Papalitan nyo agad ng bago at malamig na premix coolant. Possible na meron mg crack sa head or mg leak n gasket.
Salamat sa input sir Wilson. Actually, another DIY ko yang thermostat replacement hehe.
Hindi naman masisira agad ang cylinder head kung mag flush ka ng once or thrice, at meron pang matitira na coolant sa engine block. Pwede po ung suggestion niyo na tangalin ang thermostat para madrain lahat ng coolant.
Pero hindi na po practical na kalasin ang thermostat kung ang intention po ay magpalit lang ng coolant. At isa pa, marami po sa atin ang hindi marunong sa mga bagay na ito. Kaya kung DIY coolant po, ok na po ung tutorial ko.
Sinabi ko rin naman po sa video na pwede silang maghintay na magcool down ang engine bago magflush. Decision po ng owners po yun.

Does your engine overheats sir? If it goes higher ti the point that it almost reaches the top of the cover cap, then there might be a clog in the system.

Can you replace the current green coolant with the Premium one that is colored blue? What difference would it make?
No difference probably the life of coolant. It is best to use the Mitsubishi brand because it was built for your engine and easier to use since it is premixed ilalagay mo na kang
We can drain the coolant while engine is running but we must put running water at the inlet so draining is continues as it is fully washed the engine block.

Hello sir. Wala pong kinalaman ang aux fan sir kasi for AC po sya, unless me issue ang cooling system mo. Better na rin kung mag flush ka ng coolant. Pagdating sa sudsud, wag sir mad maganda na palit radiator na lang. Bubuksan kasj yang radiator mo sir at pag di maganda pag kakaseal nyan, leak yan sigurado.

Good day. Paano mo nadrained ung coolant sa engine block. D mo nmn ipinakita. Saka ung pgmix ng coolant at tubig sa container.
I drained from the radiator petcock din po. You can do so by draining the coolant while the engine is still hot. Di ko na po pinakita sa video ung paghalo ng coolant at tubig. 50/50 mix lang po iyon sir.

Yes sir. Most coolant sir ay nasa engine block kaya dapat mo pong gawin ang procedure 3 to 4 times, depending sa dami ng nadradrain mo sir.

If pure coolant po, your car will likely overheat kasi ang coolant po ay may poor heat absorbing properties (heat transfer) compared to water. So kelangan po siyang i-mix with water for optimum cooling effect.
If you want no dilution, buy premix coolant products that dont need water po.

Hello Po. Toyota Vios model 2011 ko Po, kakabili lang last year December 2022, seconda hand lang. Ask ko Po ilang months or ilang kilometer bago magflush Ng coolant.
Kung maitim na ang coolant niya sir palitan mo na. Then every 3 years mo palitan sir.

Hindi po, dapat malamig na sir kasi sa other side ka mag refill ng coolant, hindi sa side ng thermostat.

Turn mo sir engine habang puno ng coolant ang radiator. Hintay mo bumula ng bumula at baba ang tubig kusa. Top up ka lang ng top up hanngang sa hindi na bumaba tubig. Pwede mo ugain ang kotse or pisilin ang radiator hose para bumula sir

The hose connector have also a valve to release the hot fluid

Pwede naman po sir. I suggest na huwag water ang ipang flush niyo, kundi ung coolant mismo kaya lang mapapamahal kayo. Or, make sure na ng ma flush niyo lahat ang tubig sa system kung ang ipang flush niyo ay tubig. Salamat po

@@kaocajunior1476 Kung nag flushing po kayo using water tulad ng sa video sir, ang ilalagay niyo rin po sa radiator ay water and coolant mixture (concentrate). But make sure na na-drain niyo po lahat ng tubig sa system including sa engine block. If hindi po, maglagay po kayo ng mga 1 liter na concentrate na coolant then the rest is halong water and coolant na po. Kung ready-to-use naman po ang gagamitin niyo, make sure din po na madrain-niyo ang ipinangflush niyo sa system (kung tubig po ginamit niyo). Para di po kayo malito, suggest ko po ay coolant din po ang ipang-flush niyo. Para pag drain, diretso refill na po ng coolant.

Mr Noah, ask ko sana po: pag nagflushing, dapat ba palamigin muna yun engine bago maglagay ng distilled water? Kasi mainit yun makina though normal operating temp ito. Ang ginawa ko kasi pinainit yun makina para pag nag flush ay kasama yun old coolant sa loob ng block. Need pa ba hintayin lumamig yun makina bago maglagay ng tubig para flush uli ito? Salamat
