How many multi-lane roundabouts that have the correct outward-spiralling lanes actually exist in the UK these days? Every large roundabout of that nature seems to be covered in traffic lights, often with erratically positioned lanes.
On the first one, that is a mini-roundabout, which ought to be treated as a separate entity from a normal roundabout. I don't disagree with the instructions given though.
