To be fair, the media did. When Russia withdrew from Kharkov and half of Kherson, the media went wild with the assumptions that Russia ran out of missiles, equipment, you name it. The reality was that Russia only had about 200k soldiers to cover over 1000km of front line at the time, so withdrawing to compound the front was the wiser decision until they had their partial mobilization.
Now the things change realy fast,seems like a turning point...

"Withdraw" is usually an organized repositioning to a better defensive/evacuation/supply location. While a "retreat" is often chaotic and dangerous. It can lead to being overrun!

@@tripleg8381 Philippine Government has tense relations with China because of the West Philippine Sea issue but good relations with Russia atm. The Philippine Government may have condemned the War in Ukraine at the UN back in 2022 but it has not severed diplomatic ties with Russia in any way nor are its citizens banned from entering the country. Everyday People here are generally friendly to foreigners - even Russians - so long as you are friendly to them as well. The only rule really is don't go to places that locals wouldn't go themselves and stay in places where tourists are known to frequent because it's safer for you. Overall, visiting the Philippines is safe for Russians.

@@tripleg8381 if you're on a cold-acclimated part of Russia, coming to the Philippines will be such a big hard change for you, as of April we're having really bad heat waves so coming here not just in the Philippines but alot of parts of South East Asian and South Asian countries will be bad as of moment (because of the extreme heat), hope this gets fixed within the next -ber months.

Maybe those Ukrainian troops made a deal with the Russians: They retreat and the Russians don’t shoot them.
It’s the only explanation I can think of for why the Russians barely bothered them while watching them retreat in clear daylight in a vulnerable single file like that. Anybody have a better explanation?

It's a Russian tactic, probably, they prefer that the opposition retreats and abandons it's positions rather than they fight to the death.

The artillery hit the front of the column that was withdrawing from Arhangelsk. It took out at least 4 men.
For the devilish AFU to be withdrawing from Archangel is not surprising, because they do not fight on the side of the angels -- unless it's the ones with black wings that fly out from the Ninth Circle of Hell.

THE real important thing can be seen if you pause the video, exactly at 9:43. At this moment there is an overview and you can see the fortifications. We then see that in the lower part of the image, there are still a certain number of fortifications, that at the top there are not many anymore but above all that once past the river, to the west there are there is... nothing more.
The topographic map always blinds me at first lol! I do appreciate it though as most don't show one.

How can they distinguish which village is which then they have the same name but situated in the same oblast? If you look at the map you can see two Novobakhmutivkas north of Avdiivka. Do they use Roman numericals with village names? I noticed more towns/villages have the same names, like Kostyantinivka etc.
No, these villages most likely were attached to different administrative units and never interacted with anything beside it's administrative center so most often there was no need to dinstinguish them. For example there are 121 villages named Ivanivka in Ukraine, 107 villages named Alexandrovka, 106 villages named Mikhailivka, etc.
If you're an outsider you can distinguish them by the full address, something like Kharkivska oblast, Chuguiv rajon, village Alexandrovka (that's a made up example, don't look it up) so you would drive to the correct village instead of driving to some Zakarpatye's Alexandrovka

Looks like all those Ukrainian vows to retake Bakhmut after the Russians took it were a bit exaggerated.
It will be interesting to see if Russia focuses on Poktovsk, or if they try the more refined method of going for road T504 at a point in between Kostuantuanivka and Pokrovsk, thus threatening both towns and complicating ukraine defense plans. Or maybe Russia will just go with the flow.
