I thought I could not afford LV but realized it was quite affordable like 5 years ago, that’s my regret. The things I want now would have amounted to 2k total before.

If you thought they are unaffordable, means that they were to you at that time and that is the end of story. Buy what you can afford and have a happy life. There is always the next tier. Does canvas LV make me happy? No, but I like it and use it. Would I like epi items? Yes, but don't need them. Do I have $15 items from the local shop? Also yes. Just don't make yourself a slave to these companies. There are plenty of other nice brands out there.
@@Commentator541 When I say that I mean I assumed they were more than what I could afford, so I didn't even chec prices on items. Its also about my perception at the time. I could have bought one 500 dollar item and been happy with that all year as opposed to spending 2k at various different places trying to obtain the feeling that the 500 dollar item gives me. Also depends on the person. For me, the 500 item was attainable and affordable considering all these things. I'm definitely no one's slave ever. I get what I like and that includes luxury.
For real! Their seasonal bags are now $3-5k+! I liked the shearling speedy 25 but not for $4100! I’d rather get a Chanel at that price point!
I think people have become fatigued with ‘luxury’. It is definitely not luxurious anymore and the prices are ludicrous
I feel you, Sophie. I just grab my uniqlo bag nowadays because I am worried about being a target. I already try to dress fashionably so I don't want my bag to draw attention. it's not quiet luxury-- it's just not wanting to get mugged lol
A few years ago I regretted not buying chanel but looking back now I never loved Chanel (the flap, the boy etc) it is simply not my style but people were going nuts over these bags in 2015. All in all I have no regrets. I think it is good for my savings that the prices go up it makes me buy less and save more. Happy holidays everyone!
There are a few items I wish I'd bought a number of years back too. Totally agree with you about the Dior bar jacket. It's gorgeous but the price is just nuts. 💖
Hi Sophie! Something I wish I could afford back then was a Chanel WOC. I remember when it was around 1800€. A lot of money I could not afford at the time. Today’s price is just insane…

I completely agree that the prices for the Lady Dior are insane! I got a medium and small a couple of years ago when it was still expensive, but not like it is now. I actually prefer the small size and would like another one. I wouldn’t buy it new. If I get another one, I’ll look at pre-loved. I have found that there are some pre-loved in perfect condition for $2000 less than buying new. I will make sure it’s the color way I want, but I’ll probably never buy a new Lady Dior. I’m glad I got to experience that twice. Now it’s on to pre-loved.
I wish I had bought more Loewe medium puzzle bags when they were much less expensive, they made more colors, and they still had metal feet. Loewe makes tons of small puzzles but the medium is my perfect size.

I wish I had bought ANY Chanel bag a few years ago lol, especially the seasonal bags and Chanel 19. That’s one of their “classics” I still love to this day 🥲
I was just in Gucci today and tried on the Jackie bag in brown. It’s a great bag with a classic look! I also regret not getting the lady dior before price rises, but ended up going the preloved route.

I first became interested in acquiring luxury bags in 2015. I had a new mortgage at that time, so bags were not my priority. Unfortunately, the prices began going wild and have now reached such insane levels that I will not pay them. Even second hand prices are often more than I will pay. I do regret now not buying a Speedy B 35 and a Pochette Accessoire. I could have easily afforded them then. Now I will not pay LV the money! A Birkin also. C'est la vie! Thank you for the video!
I think it is a bit sad, buying luxury used to be aspirational, fun and something to feel better about. Today it feels like being robbed in bright daylight, not to mention the scary loothing could happen too. My scary price is 3k. But 2k would feel more okay for a proper bag, unfortunately 2 k only give you WOC or mini bag totally useless....I felt extremely lucky scooping up some classic bags half price from a luxury store closing down otherwise I would have never had many bag as I'm blessed with now. Sacrifice needs to be made thou, buying clothes secondhand, don't drink alcohol, don't buy jewellery, don't eat out, never goes to hairdresser or do my nails at salon etc etc....

My biggest regret is not buying the Saint Laurent Sunset bag in grey croc embossed leather. Back then it was £1385 and now this colourway doesn't exist and now retail for £2230!
Completely agree with you about the Fendi Peekaboo. Specifically I wanted the petite iseeu. Had a chance to buy it in Hawaii which is 10% less and also half the tax compared to U.S. mainland. But Hermes had offered me a Constance 18 and i just could not afford both. Now its more expensive. But its still on my mind.

I wish I bought the Saint Laurent Sunset Satchel way sooner, before they stopped allowing discounts on their goods. It used to be €1650 when I laid my eyes on it for the first time, ended up buying it for just under €2k... Now it retails for €2200 👀 Another regret (kinda) is getting ahold of my Chanel Mini Rectangle RIGHT AFTER a price increase... I remember when the first Fendi peekaboo came out and it was $2,000 . I thought it was way too much. But Now I’m spending $6k for a damn Chanel bag these days! Truly regret not buying the peekaboo 😢

I would have DEFINITELY purchased a new Lady Dior in a color I loved (rather than resign myself to a preloved one that I didn't care for & then sold), and held onto a Chanel woc as well as my original Cassandre clutch bag (back when the Yves was in Saint Laurent)!
10:43 love Fendi! Their RTW is my fave. I am sad that I missed out on buying a Chanel classic flap, I wouldn’t spend that money now. For my bags I tend to focus on YSL and I have a few from Polène. You’re right, I don’t want to make myself a target so much so that I don’t wear my Fendi RTW after like 4pm. And I want more subtle bags that are still good quality leather but not flashy.
Those are cute purses. I missed out on the Lady Dior too, maybe I’ll find a nice one preloved. Stealability..that’s something to think about these days

A good alternative for the fendi demin jacket is the sezane will jacket.

I just couldn’t get the money together for a medium peekaboo, but I still like the bag and will buy it at the current prices, because it hasn’t outstripped my ability to save too much.
Some stores put it on sale so you might find one much more affordable
Although the new lady Dior’s price rises a lot, the second hand market is different, I just took ages to sell my lady dior bag, it was very cheap.
I don't regret a thing. I buy what I can afford when I can afford it and that is it. Not meant to be.

I wish i bought a small size lady dior a few years back before the price increases. I nearly did if my flight isnt going to take off very soon. But hearing about the wear on your ultra matte… maybe its a good thing… i also wish i bought ysl large camera bag when it initially released. Its alot more money now and i just cant make myself buy it now…
I am happy I got my trendy when I did. After that the quality dropped n price went up. Also in Asia we have a whole of pre loved bags showing up in the bundle market. Esp MID range priced bags n other rarer names
A long time ago, I wish I had bought the LV louise GM (the style with the shorter bijou chain). It was like $2000-2200 CAD at that moment and then the last year it was in production it was $3600-3800 CAD. It was a good thing I didn't get it bc on resell sites, they have multiple scuffs on the LV closure hardware and leather. The LV closure was so big that scuffs were always going to happen so I'm thankful that I didn't buy it, plus the giant LV looks tacky, now.
And whats funny was that the "clutch" version, without a chain strap was $1200-1400 back then. So for a extra few hundreds, they just added a chain and marketed it as Louise GM for more money.
fWould strongly recommend against buying the FENDI sunshine tote, I've seen a few people online where the handles broke as in snapped fully.
I just wish I had gotten into a lot of this several years ago when things were decently less expensive.
I was so convinced back then that a lot of it was out of reach even though I was shopping Coach’s higher end bags lol
Back then, the $500-$700 I was willing to spend at Coach could have gotten me something from some of the other luxury designer brands I like today, or it could have been used towards something pre-loved.
Don’t get me wrong - I love the stuff I had then, but it’s more I wish I would have checked out more brands sooner.
I looooove my medium lady Dior the most --among all my bags and I wish I bought another one maybe in another color or even same color but different leather material. 😢
I regret not getting into bags earlier because now I like them but I know they aren’t worth it at the prices now . :( I bought some and feel guilty for it instead of happy

Is LV having a price rise soon? A few items I have my eyes on like the double pochette and Palm Springs mini backpack. I bought the LV pochette Metis when it was £1300 and now they are almost 2k and the GM Neverful at just under 1k and they are now about £1500. 😊
Crazy isn’t it! I bought my pochette metis for £935 in 2016, and I remember the neverfull was £400 in 2009!

i would love to buy brand new from the store but back to 2 years nearly we all see that the price keep increasing nonstop.. so ridiculous for that much money just a bag and easily robbed by someone... even replica or fake thesedays quality also good but can bringnthe joy of real fashion world :( i just miss my 2010s the designs the price also the inspiration from fashion directors..
Bar Jackets can be an issue if you are very short... love them but they look "off" on me at 5 ft 2.
Have you tried pairing them with dresses or knee high boots? I have an oversized suit jacket, and styling it like that helps with the height issue.

why don't you set a budget for your bag collection, and if you want to buy a new one but you've reached your limit ,you just sell one you don't use. I mean there is a limit to how many bags a person could use.

I wouldn’t have minded a Chanel classic flap for 2015 prices but these days it’s ridiculously priced and the quality is highly lacking. There’s hardy any luxury involved any more.
To have to beg to buy overpriced handbags, to stand in massive queues etc

it's about business no more fashion.. even I see LV under Pharrell he also do business nothing art anymore..
I think the bar jacket looks good on you inlh if you wear a maxi flowy skirt. Where it hits you at the bottom makes your proportions not as flattering. It would work if it was shorter at the waist or longer just below the hip. Sorry just my opinion. I think it's a difficult length on most people to be fair.
