Not telling parents you ride is big SEA energy. Did the same before I had my license finished. 🇹🇭 Mom’s reaction was priceless; “Uh, motorcycles are dangerous. What bike have you bought then? Yamaha? I had a Vespa GTS as I had style. You are a simple man like your uncle.”
Thank you for sharing this experience, i also ride an MT09 and its not really meant for long haul rides. The crosswinds really takes a toll on ur body and i know how u felt on that trip. Me personally id would have taken a day or 2 to rest in between while moving up north. Anyways kudos to you bro and ride safe always.
Thanks for sharing and inspiring bro. I should get out of my comfort zone and confront my fear of riding that distance alone. It’s definitely time. Ride safe my friend!
Hi Ben, I really enjoyed living vicariously through your solo touring video. I quit riding for a few years and actually just purchased an MT09 to ride because I missed the feeling of riding and the freedom. Glad to have found your channel! Hope to bump into you on SG roads one day.
Subscribed! Love how you show us your bike journeys. I hope to travel outside of SG with my husband on his e-bike. Not sure if Thailand has chargers for e-motorbikes. Plus, language barrier. I wonder if both me and my husband can wander over to Thailand with our e-bike
0:37 The singer of this beautiful song had died 6 months ago. His voice express the feeling of missing beloved one really well. Thai songs in this video are really nice. Welcome to Thailand brother.
if i had a month to travel up north i'd stop and check out a few places in malaysia too! makes the entire trip alot more fun without that first 900+kms 😇. thanks for sharing the vid!
I went up in end October 2023, solo too. All the way to Chiang Mai. Took 5 days to go up to CMai. I am a caveman , I don't ride at night. Too dangerous. Rode 4 day from Pai/MHS area. Great fun. Took 5 days to come home to SG. Thanks for sharing!!
Nice video and ride bro! I just did KL trip recently. Next will plan Thailand. Can you let me know which border crossing you took from Malaysia to Thailand. Thanks!
i did the ride up last year oct. it was great but abit rush because i only manage to take 6 days leave from my workplace. awesome video bro ! ride safe !!!
@@Notsurewhattoputlol Would have love to go riding again if not for my wife. Enjoy and have a safe trip. Btw, your spoken Thai is good. Think I lost mine a long time ago. Haha
I want to ride to my hometown from SG. east of Bangkok at a rural place in the province of Sisaket. Seeing you ride like that.. I feel like I can. just need proper planning
Since 2002 all my trips Thailand & beyon r solo except on 2 occasions. Prefer to ride alone, I get to stop whenever I want, eat at any venue I prefer & stay in any location I wish. Singapore to Hat Yai on the 1st day is pretty standard for most SG riders, don't really enjoy highway riding on NSH.
i have filled up petrol in Malaysia my whole life and never once i need to pay deposit. Weird. I normally just wave at them to "open" the pump and fill then pay
bike setup nothing much, only one duffel bag on pillion seat. then a top box. As for what I pack maybe I will do a video on it for next trip. Hard to type hahah
@@sornglor555hi Ben great video. I’m heading up next week to Thailand. It’s my first trip on a bike and solo. I have a question. at the Thai border do we need the true copy log card from Lta with the stamp , or can I just print from onemotoring. ?
before the custom will have many insurance shop. can settle everything there, including sim card. hotel all book on the way as didn't plan for the trip so not sure where I will end up each day
Bro, why no gloves ? It’s a crucial part of safety gear. If you fall, your natural instinct is to put out your palm to protect yourself. With gloves, it will save you a potential hand surgery
Good vdo bro. Can I ask how u get the motorycle insurance covered in Thailand? (Not the Thai 3rd party), cos most insurers in Singapore cover till West Malaysia, from 50/80 km border of Thai/Malaysia
I don't know how you do it, that your parents don't know you ride, and you have an MT09? LOL.🤣 This is not some 2B bike... this is nearly 3 years of secrecy. Hahaha... Stay safe on the roads!
hmm if is the sleepiness due to hot weather, i stop every 1hr for petrol and freshen up there. If the fatigue due to riding long hours, recommend just stop at a town, chill for the night and continue next day haha. Shouldnt rush for a road trip. For me, cause i didnt try before so didnt know how long it takes. When I came back, i took a stop at Ipoh.

My ride to Thailand was at year 2001. We spent a total 6 month. The best experience of my life.
I envy you, man. 6- month travelling is heaven and definitely unforgettable experience!
Using Paywave at the petrol kiosk saves so much trouble. Just tap, pump and go.
Going solo to Phuket on my VFR in 3 weeks time.
Went to Thailand / Myanmar / Cambodia for a month too! Best experience ever 🙌 ride safe! ✌️

Next time bring wise debit card. Pay at pump, like that your bike will not be unattended since you do solo ride.
I ride solo every month to IPOH on my Tracer 900 GT and that's already tiring. You went to Thailand in a day...hats off to you bro.
