Return it for replacement 😢
Absolutely without a doubt go in store to exchange it. If they don’t have that bag in store then have them do a return and have her give you a gift card and order a new one. It is irrelevant what happened with the initial gift card. Don’t mail it back and don’t send it for repair, unacceptable for a brand new bag. And if you get another one with the same problem, I would not keep it no matter how much I like it.

I agree with your assessment of the situation. I can’t wait to see how this turns out. I have no words for Coach at this time. But I will say this would turn me off to Coach for awhile. All I can do is shake my head….this is unacceptable.

The gift card is legit. Coach had it advertised on their website that if you submit a review you could win a $500 gift card. When you submit a review on the bag it even had a question that said are you submitting this review to win a $500 gift card? I know this cause I've wrote reviews when they had this sweepstake going on. Also Coach Outlet had the same sweepstakes but i think their gift card was for $250. They run the sweepstakes from time to time.
My Tabby 20 does the same as well. how I get it to open is, I pull the flap downward a little to get it to open.
I watched your video you referenced- which was excellent by the way - BUT this gift card win seems SO SUSPICIOUS . I 💯 think it was to appease you. But still, lucky you. Beautiful bag!

I brought the 26 and the same thing. Pull down instead of up. I pull down and it open and close every-time. Hope this works…

i feel like you're a quilted tabby expert at this point, so if something feels off, it likely is an issue. i would ship it back and exchange it if you're not able to do it in person. you could also maybe visit a coach with any version of the same size and test out the clasps to see if it is comparable to your own.

My bandit does the same thing. It gets stuck at the clasp. I learned that i have to wiggle and squeeze the bag a certain way to get it to open. I just kind of dealt with it but I am going to wear it more to see if maybe it’s a defect! Thanks for sharing! I hate that you went thru a whole rigamarole getting your gift card/

Maybe try loading all your stuff in it to see if it opens easier when full?
The bag does look really great, like perfect condition it's a shame about the issue with the top flap. I notice I had an issue opening my size 20 bag if it was full, but that is strange for it to get so stuck. That just messes up the function of the bag.
I'd probably swap rather than deal with the hassle of getting the clasp repaired, I've also heard not good things about the repair service so I'd also feel iffy. That's a bummer for that to happen on the bag you got with the winning gift card. Hopefully you're able to get a replacement. :)

I bought a quilted tabby 26 in the soft purple colour and I have the same issue with my clasp 😢 idk if I’m going to exchange it cuz it’s perfect otherwise. Good to know that this seems to be a common issue. Thanks for your video!

Hi Millie, LOVE that bag! That’s my next one to acquire. Listen, I had to return a bag to COACH for an exchange and it was so easy! The CS manager sent a UPS label and told me once they could see the return was scanned they actually initiated my new order. There was no 10 wait for bag and all that nonsense. The manager actually also checked the warehouse for the stock level to
Confirm they had enough stock as your concerns were the same concerns that I had. Now I will tell you I didn’t drag my feet I was at the ups store the very next day returning my bag and that manager within a day from me returning the item had already sent me an email confirming she started the processing to get my new bag! So connect with a supervisor/manager and they’ll assist you. The manager I dealt with was Tova from Florida and she was amazing! I hope this helps and good luck! TFS 😊❤

it so sad everything is sold out that problem but know coach they have more new styles i would say keep it if love it
the real problem is now that coach is it brand everything sold out I want the zip lip card case they had it my coach store now it all over youtube it sold out
This is a stunning bag. I’ve seen a handful of reviews on the 33 where it is said that the clasp gets stuck. The female side of the clasp has these 3 pieces that are spring loaded and to get the bag open and to close it, these 3 pieces move inward with pressure. Maybe yours are not shifting to release the male end, but I don’t know why. That’s a problem if it persists.
Oh that's interesting! I did notice that haha I was trying to look in there with a flashlight and figured it might be related to those pieces. I have a positive update coming soon! 🥰

Omg this was such a crazy story! You are like a Coach tarot reader lol! I have a similar situation, I ended up purchasing a red Coach idol bag (restored) and the magnetic clasp is super hard to open! However, the bag is in such beautiful condition and sold out that I don’t want to return it! Honestly, in my opinion I would keep your bag if I were you! The clasp might become easier to open the more you use it. Plus the handbag is in such great condition that if you returned it, you could receive a bag that has visible marks and stitching issues, scratches, etc. Plus who knows if that particular style will be sold out again..? To me the condition of the bag is more important as you can maybe get the clasp to work better or get it fixed in my opinion. I guess it depends on what you think is more important. Also regarding the 500$ gift card, it does seem like you received it based on your previous UA-cam video regarding thoughts on their campaign strategy. But this is another reason why returning or trading the bag due to the fact you purchased it with a gift card, might be more of a hassle than necessary. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted!
