I live in England and had friends that lived at fort meyers beach back in the early 90s. I stayed with them for a few weeks back in 1990 and I completely fell in love with the place. Your video just took me back to some great memories, thanks you! :)

First time I toured the Edison home was just over 50 years ago in 1971, wow! I wonder how much the banyan tree has grown as it was very impressive back then. You also used to walk through the lab and home although not wander around in any area and some rooms were roped off. Everyone should take the time to visit the estate if in the area, the museum to me is the highlight.
Ft. Myers Beach and all they show is the typical tourist area of Times square. There's sooo much more like Matanzas preserve, Mound House, Heavenly Biscuit, Bay Oaks, Lover's Key, Dog beach, etc...

I really enjoyed your video. Love THE FORT! I've been many times for MLB Spring Training and to take the ferry to Key West (a really great trip). I visited St. Pete/Clearwater recently - another beautiful part of the state! See you in our travels!

You forgot to mention 2 important places: Bowman's Beach on Sanibel Island which is famous for its shells and The Mucky Duck restaurant on Captiva island. Captiva is a beautiful island connected to Sanibel island and looks like an island in the Caribbean, lush and green with beautiful beaches too.

I used to live in Tampa for 11 yrs before moving to Chicago. Wouldn’t mind visiting FT Myers one day. I’ve only passed by driving on I-75 traveling to visit family in Broward & Dade County.

Sure I love ❤️ FL's Gulf Coast! The best side of FL as far as I'm concerned. There is more preservation of natural vegetation and native trees and habitats versus South FL (that has more commercial development and artificial eye candy looking utopias for tourists).
I was thinking the same think. This is what people think of when they think of Florida. All the big cities have just been paved over and became anywhere USA.

i looked it up: > Fort Myers Beach is a town on Estero Island, off the southwest Florida coast. A long, sandy beach faces the Gulf of Mexico. The Ostego Bay Marine Science Center showcases local marine life. To the east, trails run through Matanzas Pass Preserve nature sanctuary. Built on an ancient Calusa Indian shell mound, the 1900s Mound House has archaeological exhibits. Times Square shopping center has stores and restaurants.
