Great video, exploring a train grave, somewhere near pripyat in the exclusion zone. Derelict and over turned rolling stock, left to rot away, can never be reused
These rails are used albeit very rarely but there are other sections of rail used frequently. There is a section of rail from the power plant to the spent fuel facility that gets used regularly as well as the rail line from the power plant to the city of slavutych where majority of workers reside since the disaster.
Everything in the exclusion zone has an eery vibe being overgrown and slowly decaying. Added to the fact that during my 3 day visit during the pandemic it was only myself and a French film crew as the only visitors (aside from the every day zone workers and power plant workers who stay in Chernobyl) unfortunately these train cars got pretty well destroyed by the big fires last spring.
Nice! Pretty hard to see all of these nice trains oing to waste But what strikes me most is the total lack of birdnoises on (almost) all of the video's inside the zone. With soo many trees you'd expect some if not a lot birds but it must be one of the effects of radiation. Lack of healty food or birth-defects?
It could have just been the season. While I didn’t hear many birds chirping I did see a fair amount of birds. Oddly enough the most birds I saw was on the lawn on the backside of the power plant by reactor 4.
@@NewHampshireNick Interesting. Was that ground put up cleanly in the cleaning operation there? When I understand well, a least most of the poluted ground there was removed so may have more worms. Also more water close by for them. i really like your video's. Nice and not screaming and talking in the mic all the time but documenting only.
Most of the ground that was turned up is tucked away in areas out of sight. The area around the power plant is level and grassed with some landscaping. The main road in Chernobyl is well taken care of with workers landscaping and taking care of the road and sidewalks. Many people don’t realize Chernobyl is still somewhat active of a town where workers stay and you would have no idea it was ever abandoned until you take a side street.
@@NewHampshireNick Yes, and still the other reactors are maintained and have been longer then we could imagine here in the Netherlands. I remember the day the news of the explosion was coming to us just around the queensday we had at the 30th. That was of course a very important day for a child but celebrating felt strange (including not allowed to eat from our own garden). And then the pictures of the workers on the roof in that country no-one here knew much about. Nice to see it somewhat more living then we thought it was and gotten the feeling of at that time with still some monuments remembering of the time on video. I cannot visit it (health, sitting in wheelchair) but with the video's it is nice to explore from home.

Spooky old train cars! Would love to explore something like that! I’ll have to settle for rail tracks in my parts.

1986 pripyat...
Impressionante a quantidade de ferro e aço abandonado na cidade de Pripyat e arredores, espero que um dia possam ser recolhidos e reaproveitados.

Even tho it's not necessary i recommend bringing a ranged weapon because there is a high chance of dangerous wild animals.

No sound or sub titles explanation as to what we are looking at. not much use as an informative video.
It is not and never was made as an informative video. There’s plenty of those videos around already. This is just my exploration experience.
@@NewHampshireNick Then I have no idea what I was exploring.
