I shared this informative video of true history. They started to block it on you tube. I cant comment or send on FB now. I guess they do not want people to know REAL HISTORY.
I am half Scottish and related to Patrons. Important to being our kids and grandkids to these historical sites. Our schools are not teaching true history. Rewriting the books.
I am so ashamed as an American that we citizens have not kept the America that our grandparents fought so hard for. I am not speaking about those who have fought for, supported or defended our country. But those of us who have taken our country for granted, have been apathetic, or abused rights and laws. We are now suffering greatly and still have learned no lessons.
You learned it, what are you doing ? I'm not trying to be snarky, you have a very good point I feel you. What are you doing ? Are you teaching your younguns? Do you know what to do? God bless you keep the faith don't give up our heritage is worth it.
If one forgets history, they’re apt to repeat it. How about learn about the fall of Rome & Greece? All the ok of porn & behavior and those civilizations fell too… so what’s America’s future?
I got chills watching this video. It's very moving to think of those men who believed so strongly in our nation that they were willing to risk it all, and it hurts to see what's become of their sacrifices. Many of us still have deep appreciation and honor their memories, but TPTB are trying to change history. We can't let them.
I brought two of my eldest children there year's ago. No family history, yet I wanted to teach them history which I knew they weren't learning at school. A beautiful place yet felt solemn. Thank you Patara.
THE REASON WE FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOMS! Blood was shed, lives changed, WE have family that fought for our freedoms too...God bless ALL of our fine men who risked it all and THEY are WHY we do not surrender our freedom to tyrannical governing!!! Thank you for sharing, proud of all who did all they could to keep us free...🙏🏻💗🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I sobbed watching this. Lived not far from there growing up. Never knew the history of my 5th GGrandfather and his participation and wounding in this battle. So very honored. This is wonderful, Patara. Thank you so very much.
3-gg grandfathers fought there. One was 65 years old. They called him “King” David Benge. This is so cool! I want to go there and pay respect one day. ❤
You brought me to tears. The america that I love so much is fading away. Our leaders don’t love her like she deserves to be loved. Men and women died so that she would be free but we are quickly forgetting the price they paid.
Hey girlfriend, my daddy & his siblings (9) were lived in Kings Mountain, NC. He was born in Blacksburg, SC. His mom & dad (Little, Adulphus & Mildred) are buried at Kings Mt, NC. I also had some Great-Greats that fought the war in the area! My ancestors (The Little's) came from Ireland & Scotland, during the huge Potato Famine). It is beautiful there. Thanks for taking me along, I have never been there. Stay safe & God bless. GRAM in TEXAS.
My heart aches for everyone that gave their lives to give us a country to be proud of and live comfortably in. And we let it get to where it is today. I'm sorry.
Patara, thank you for sharing this with us today. My mother's father's side of my family was here before the Rev War. My father's father's side includes George Roger Clark and William Clark. My family has been involved in service to our great country from them to now. I serve as an EMT. I no longer serve on an ambulance, but I provide emergency medical services at a Boy Scout camp as a volunteer. Many of my relatives have served in the military as well as police officers. It breaks my heart to see what has happened to our great country. It isn't too late to turn it around, we just have to step up and make responsible choices to bring things back to right.
I like the history that you show .I can’t get to these places if I could I can’t walk and see all of these places . Thank you for taking people along with you .Have. Safe and blessed day.
Thank you for taking us along Patara. My ancestors did not arrive until the mid 1800s from Ireland. That is awesome to walk in the same footsteps of your Great Grandfather Patton.
My mother has been doing genealogy for years and has most all of our ancestry back into the 1600's , and some much farther back. I marvel at the rich history and the stories we've uncovered. It's humbling and glorious to know the strengths of my bloodlines. To me, it gives me strength and resolve for how could I ever doubt who I am with the ancestry that brought me here. I pray they all are up there urging us on to be the people who we need to be to get through this. I pray with all my strength that they stand beside us in our battles to come 🙏🙏🙏🙏
my graduate work was in history and this battle WAS THE TURNING POINT of the war, we might of lost but this win rallied the country and we won. I'm impressed by all these men and you can be very proud of your heritage
With tears in my eyes I thank you for this beautiful video on the history of the battle at Kings Mountain, SC. For sure I will take all of our grandchildren to experience this in person. It will take multiple trips since they start at 7 months to 9yrs old. We can make it a tradition by going every 5 years. Patara, you are such a treasure 🏴☠️❤🏴☠️❤🏴☠️❤
Thank you Patara for all you share and your encouragement. If we all stop and think we would be so grateful for the life we live and could live before it is gone forever.
Thank You so very much for this video . I am 63 and disabled living on my SSI so I will never get the opportunity to come to King's Mountain though I would absolutely love too . By you making this video you have brought it to me , I did stop the video to read everything as well as look at the pieces in the Museum . What an Honor it must be to have had ancestors who fought there . I have Ancestors that fought in the Revolution but in the Northeast . I had to like and subscribe , again Thank You so much for bringing this too me. GOD Bless You .
This choked me up so much. This is what America is and about, not this horrible mess of a country we're enduring now. Thank you. This was beautiful beyond words.
As a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, I want to thank you for this video. History not remembered and shared is a death that we as a country cannot allow to happen.
Thank you for this video, it gave me chills to watch as a student of history and being a Rev war reenactor and now doing long hunter as well. Thank you for your family's sacrifice to the cause of freedom.
Thank you for sharing. I'm adopted only know a little about adopted family and even less about biological. Love seeing what others know of their ancestors it's wonderful
My 3x great grandfather, Capt. John Starnes, was on that mountain that day. All my ancestors were settled in the Charlotte area (only a few miles away) by 1731 - 1751. Been here a loooong time. 😉😉😉 Very proud !
Thank you for this! I don't know why I became so teary, especially with your choice of music accompaniment. I agree, visiting historical sights in this country is of great importance, especially now.
I had never heard of the Battle of King's Mountain nor Cowpens until we lived in NC outside oof Charlotte. Visited both fields and took the history to heart. I miss the country I grew up in.
In researching my family history I found some Minute Men. One of my Revolutionary grandfathers was taken as a war prisoner to Canada and later ransomed. Thank you Patara for reminding us of the blood and lives which has been given to secure our country. Remember y'all to Pray, Plan, Prep
AMEN! GOD BLESS AMERICA AGAIN ,OUR PEOPLE, our FREEDOM AMEN! HEAL our broken people and COUNTRY. I miss folks being THANKFUL for the privilege of the freedoms, better times , we have lived in.too many seem to hate or uncaring? I pray we can find our way back to better days, GOD and FAMILY, love for AMERICA.
Freedom is never more than a generation away from extinction. Says Ronald Reagan! Boy was he true. The Patriots of this country will not let it happen in our time. We must teach our children and their children. Freedom is not given, it is earned.

Thank you Patara. I appreciate all this information reminding everyone to study the history of our Nation and our ancestors who fought and died for our Freedom.
Thank you Patara for this video and taking us along. It was very emotional to think how these patriots fought to the death for our freedom in this beautiful country. 🙏🇺🇸♥️😔
My 5th great grandfather was at that battle as well. His name is David Law and he was from Wilkes county. He was also a Continental Soldier. I haven't been there in a long time but tradition was to throw a rock on Col. Patrick Ferguson's grave to send him, "one stone closer to Hell."
Oh! I love it Patara,. How exciting to visit King's Mtn. I am still researching my family and who might have fought in the Revolutionary War. I have only learned that my grandfather's brother on my mother's side of the family, fought for the Confederacy. I been looking for his unit or company, but thus far, unsuccessful. It just must be so goose bumpy to know that you ancestors fought on this sacred holy ground. Thank you , thank you, thank you oh so much for this awesome, awesome video.
Patara, my 5th great grandfather's sister was Sarah Hawkins, John Sevier's 1st wife. She was a tough woman, but unfortunately died just before King's mountain. Our ancestors fought together!
King's Mountain -- the ACTUAL turning point of the Revolutionary War. (T. Roosevelt, Jefferson, others agree; and several historians note the loss of Charleston wiped out Saratoga as a turning point, leaving King's Mountain as they key turn, especially in concert with Cowpens. Blessings to you!
What an awesome video. I lived just the other side of I-85 from 1990 to 1996. When family from Ontario or BC came to visit I always took them to Kings Mountain. Also did a lot of riding on the horse trails there as well. A lot of history there. Important history. Americans as well as Canadians need to have courage and fight for our freedoms again. We live in a more evil world now than your 5 and 6 times great-grandaddies did then. ❤❤❤ I personally, am working real hard to bring us to a world that our Creator intended for us. Thank you.
My grandfather and 4 brothers came to America before 1776 my grandfather and one brother sided with the British they move to Canada after the war from North Carolina my great grandfather move to Seattle in the late 1800s I'm very proud of this side of my family my family has been a family of vets I love history
My husband we have been told had family that fought at Kings Mountain. Wish I could visit it but we are unable to travel due to the health of my husband. Doing most of my research on line at this time. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Oh my, the bravery and devotion of our American freedom fighters is just overwhelming. They sacrificed so much including their own lives so that we could be free. Thank you Patara and thank you to your grandfathers for their service to our beautiful country May their lives and what they hate done never be erased from history and may we pass this knowledge on to our children and grandchildren. God bless America!
