I got lost once in Lesotho turning left into an unpaved road at the bottom of the Sani pass, spent 3 days in the southern mountains region, pointing west back to the SA border. Came out on the 3rd day with no more fuel, spare wheels, or food. But was one of the best landscapes I have ever ever seen, the high mountains, the green land, the remote villages, simply amazing!!! Beautiful country
Thx for those wonderful adventure I am planning my self to this can of adventure in my own country somalia specially somaliland ik Ben ok opgegroied in Netherlands....love guys. I hoop to enjoye your adventure 1day wit. Groetjes M.liban van uit hargeisa
Hey guys, been watching your videos and all of a sudden they just stop!!?? I hope you are OK and that one day you will continue telling us about your trips around the world. Take care and ride safe, both of you! 🤗🤞👍🙏
Hi Jessica & Maarten, deep respect how you did the Sani Pass! I saw other adventure driver’s struggling, but you nailed him! Keep continuing the adventure sharing with us and stay save. Hartelijke groet, Leendert
What a great video! A big part of watching adventure bike videos for me, is the adventure bikes themselves. It's quite obvious that Maarten & Jessica have a passion for bikes!
Thanks! Lesotho is a magnificent travel destination for adventure riding, the country simply has it all! The waterfall is one of the most spectacular we’ve ever seen, even though it wasn’t in full flow.
I lived and worked inLesotho for 20yrs, building Dams and roads, with multinational consortiums. None of whom were Chinese. Katse Dam with its spectacular northern access road, Moteng pass towards Oxbow and Mokhotlong. More recently Chinese built yes. Thanks for the great video, and don’t forget the famous Roof of Africa off road race!
One of the greatest videos I have seen here. Grafik and pictures in perfect quality. Tell me please which Cams and drohne you use. I give you 5 stars ✨ for this (in Germany we say geil) video 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Super geil to read your comment Ulrich! 😁 The views from the bike are mainly shot with a GoPro 9, the close ups and at-side-of-the-road-shots with one of our iPhones (12) and the drone we use is a DJI Mavic Air. Lately we bought a Compactcamera with a 30X zoom lens (Panasonic LUMIX) to shoot some nice footage of the game in national parks. Obviously we’re going to use that for some motorcycle footage as well!
You're both making me be on a fence now. I've had an unshakable love for honda africa twin but I have to admit, I love your T7s. Wow they sound wonderful. Was this on a weekend or during the week? Wish I met you. From here in Maseru, Lesotho 🇱🇸
Sorry for that, hopefully can pull the trigger any time soon to enjoy the amazing roads in Lesotho! 😬 The Ténérés indeed sound amazing with the 270 degrees crankshaft. A bit similar to the Africa Twin actually. We spent one week in Lesotho, on our Polarsteps account you can see the route we took if you like. Too bad we missed each other, would have been great to meet!
@@WindingWheels Your reply is much appreciated. Yes I will check your route thank you. I've subscribed & will be following your journey back home. Hope you go all the way through. Maarten's face looks familiar. I think I've watched 1 or 2 of your videos before. Thank you again. You both take care.
Great to hear you hopped on! We hope to make it back home overland. Unfortunately there are still some border restrictions in Northern Africa. We’ll see what the possibilities are when we get closer! 🤞
Most of Lesotho’s grounds are far above the tree line where no forest can survive. In the “lower” parts of the countries you can find some forests though.
Lesotho is a nation of thieves. I have been robbed on every occasion that I have been there (four times!). If you want to ride Sani Pass, go up from the Natal side in RSA. Ride up the pass, enjoy a beer at the pub at the top and return down to RSA the same day. That way you will avoid being robbed or even killed like some hikers.
Hello! My new friend.
Wow! It's a motorcycle driving video that gives me the most fun and adventure.
I watch your video until the end.👍👍👍🦈💞💖💚🥃🌷💝

Thanks Leendert! The euphoric feeling at the top of the pass was amazing! It kept us on a high for days, literally in Lesotho. 😁
Great videos, very good quality, perfect. You made Sani Pass look so easy. I look forward to many more videos. From Norfolk UK
Thanks a lot, Lucy! Though it might look easy, it was challenging and we arrived at the top exhausted. The adrenaline kept us going! 😅
Awesome - thank you so much and all the best for both of you 🍀🍀🙏🙏

Awesome video guys, really loved that shot of the horse crossing the river, so majestic.
Thanks Robbie! Imagine how majestic it would look if you crossed it on your KTM after Albert’s training! 😉

Thanks Joost! Working on the next one already!
Well done, what a fantastic video, very professional and it flet like there was a large team involved in this and not just the two of you.
Thanks for the kind words! 🙌 Don’t tell anybody we carry a secret bag full of minions to support us.. 🤫

Thanks Steve! As a motorcycle traveler, you cannot wish for more.
Fantastisch mooi!
Beautifull video, what a great ride through the pass. Enjoy your trips👍🏼

Thanks Nico! 🙌
I wonder what the people of Lesotho have lost for the Chinese to build them a road..
Great video guys, I hope you remain safe in all your travels.
nothing really . Chinese have factories there though , and they benefit from help that is meant for Africans . Maybe that is how they benefit .
Thanks a lot Simon!
@@lekholokoelekotsoanamoloi9593 thanks for the info, we were wondering too.
China loans the whole world money, including the US and the UK.

Hoe is het met jullie? Al een tijdje niks meer gepost op YT...
Hoi Rob, gelukkig gaat alles goed hier! Wel zijn we inderdaad al een tijdje stil op UA-cam, maar we zijn inmiddels bezig met het volgende filmpje 😁
Hello I've been watching your videos, how do you find the old road in Lesotho after sani pass?
Lovely !
Did you come out through the Caledonspoort border post ?
Indeed, right into Golden Gate National Park in South Africa.
@@WindingWheels Thought it looked familiar. One of my favourite parts of the country.
What bikes do you both ride? Have you made any modifications to them?

Nice video but too short. Feel free to make them longer and ride safe!
Unfortunately we ran out of footage after traveling “only” one week through Lesotho. We like to make our upcoming videos a bit longer again.
Beautiful scenery.
Superb photography.
Well done 👍
What time of year was this?

Please plant trees in Lesotho. It is a beautiful land but would be even more beautiful and productive with forests.
Most of Lesotho’s grounds are far above the tree line where no forest can survive. In the “lower” parts of the countries you can find some forests though.
Hey guys, how’s it going? Haven’t heard anything for ages??
Hi Jim! Thanks for asking, all good. Guess we were too busy adventuring.. 😉 The next video is in the making!
@@WindingWheels Great news that you’re safe and enjoying. 🤙🏻
How do they manage to farm in Lesotho?
The farmers must be very resourceful to manage in such a mountainous country!
@@WindingWheels Thank you very much, sir.

What was the purpose of saying the roads were constructed by the Chinese?
We find that a remarkable fact to share.
they died?
