I would say part of the soreness is from doing a 2 week deload, then going up 100kg all at once, with a variation you're not used to. If you ramped up over a few sessions, it probably wouldn't be so noticeable.

I feel hitting new weights or more weight that I have done for a while helps to maintain passion for lifting. I have a cheat style of bench that I do that let's me handle a weight for 4-5 reps that l can only do 1-2 reps strictly, which has resulted in my strict bench to improve. Things like this make me can't wait to hit the next workout

If it hurts ease off a bit? Light weights maybe to keep the muscle memory and bloodflow? I think you have broken the world record for most weight lifted, or most consecutive days of heavy lifting already by a long way anyway.

Personally, I'd do a lot of Hatfield squats if I had the equipment.
At the risk of committing Selection Bias, I think Dr Squat was on to something. He did squat 1000lbs in competition and he promoted and did a lot of Hatfield squats for the bulk of his own training before doing Barbell squats when peaking for competition. He'd recommend it to his clients of course but it hasn't really become popular with most people, I'm guessing since most have no clue about it. I also don't see people swearing they've benefitted much from it to be fair.
But I believe you gotta get strong to be strong. I mean, bench press specialists like Maddox and Ryjov just bench and seated overhead press virtually all the time but they can deadlift 600lbs without even training the movement. When they'll train the deadlift, they'll surely lift more weight in that movement. Those aren't even related movements. They're just strong AF overall.
In my case, if I had the equipment, I'll push the Hatfield squats to 300kg for reps and I'm sure my Back Squat will blow past 250kg at least after a squat specific training cycle even if I ignore the squat for a few years. The muscles, connective tissues, and nervous system will be well developed even without specific training, for sure - it's the specific skill component (coordination for the barbell squat movement) that will be lacking.
Just me hypothesizing. I lack equipment to conduct that experiment on myself. Maybe someday though when I get the chance to improve my financial situation, I'll for sure test my hypothesis.

I agree. l used to do squat lockouts facing into a hack squat machine and it blew up my regular bb squat by 100 pounds. When l moved into an apartment l had to scale back on some of my equipment, so l regret l no longer have that piece of equipment

@@scottpope6210 Thank you for taking time to read my very long comment, sir. Unfortunately, I could not condense it without losing important details.haha
Thanks. I am glad somebody has personal experience with the idea I proposed. It bolsters my confidence that someday my experiment will likely allow me to achieve my desired results.
