Felon Arrested after Attempting to Conceal a Firearm and Resisting Arrest

While performing a security check at the Racetrac gas station at 5893 E State Road 100 around 2:30 a.m. on February 14, a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) sergeant made contact with occupants of a Chevrolet Equinox in the parking lot.
The adult male sitting in the back passenger side of the vehicle had marijuana in plain view near his feet. The sergeant gave commands several times for the passenger to place his hands on the seat in front of him. The male, later identified as 22-year-old Austin Flores (DOB 4/30/1997), did not comply with the sergeant’s commands and began stomping his feet continually in the vehicle. The sergeant heard what sounded like metal drop inside the vehicle while Flores was stomping.
Flores soon exited the vehicle and when the sergeant grabbed his wrist, Flores pulled away and continued to be argumentative and uncooperative. Another sergeant arrived on scene and was able to escort Flores to the ground in order to secure him in handcuffs.
An inventory of the vehicle revealed a 9mm semi-automatic handgun directly under the front passenger seat, consistent with the backseat passenger pushing it under the front seat. Deputies also found 14 grams of marijuana scattered on the passenger floorboard and underneath the front seat in the immediate area where Flores was seen stomping inside the vehicle.
“Thankfully no one was hurt during this interaction. This situation could have gone a lot differently,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Our deputies never know what they may encounter, even on a routine security check. I continually remind them to think tactically and dress for survival. Guns, drugs, and felons don’t mix.”
Flores is a convicted felon since 2018 and is therefore not allowed to possess a firearm. Flores was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Marijuana, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, and Resisting an Officer without Violence. He was booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility where he is being held without bond.
You know you gotta re-evaluate yourself when the sheriff's office recognizes you.

2. Get in the officers face with your phone light in his face
3.( for felons only) carry illegal substances and or firearms, all the while acting like you don't know what your doing wrong
4. Argue with the officer over every detail
5.resist arrest while claiming your not and also declining any fault to your own arrest.

Don’t forget, you must continue to ask “what did I do” over and over no matter how many times the police tell you, and, this is important, make sure you have a litany of health problems as they make the arrest, things like bad shoulder(s), asthma, heart problems, any and all combinations thereof. Oh and play the race and/or gender card if you can, that will put the cops on the backpedal. When they give a lawful command tell them you “don’t feel comfortable” due to your race/gender/orientation/nationality/disability/veteran status or anything you can think of. This helps.
It’s amazing how every idiot that doesn’t follow commands and gets hooked up in handcuffs immediately says “I didn’t do nothing”. It’s the mantra of every criminal and idiot.

From past experience with the passenger, the cops already knew he was up to no good. Throwing a temper tantrum confirmed their theory before they even saw the gun. Convicted felon is a repeat offender never changing his ways.
It’s the “i didn’t do nothing” but personally I think some of the polices methods are flawed but needed for real situations. Like if you have your hands in your pockets and a police officer approaches you they grab your wrists and force your hands in your pockets. I get it’s needed for a weapon but it seems a bit power abusive. Because it’s natural for to walk with your hands in your pockets and it’s not likely you did it unless they got an exact description that you did the crime they are there for
