Thank you for the info. I received my 716 last fall and had some issues with them, as far as weighting. We sent them back to California to be fixed and now they are better. The only thing that I saw that could be a problem is the fact that they do produce a little more spin and higher launch, which may be a problem for those of you whom like a lower ball flight. Other than that, I nice looking iron. BTW - make sure your mic is near you, hard to hear what you are saying. Thanks.
I didn't like how you mentioned nothing about the increase in your club-head speed going from the 714 to 716. You got more distance because you were swinging harder. I could even tell visually right away from the first swing that you tool with the 716s that you swung the club harder... I will test these myself but thanks for the effort.
Good review thanks.. Seems like the real difference is height and back spin increase of the 716's.. Distance probably explained by the higher swing speed you put on the 716's?!
+Dave H. yeh i noticed a slight increase in club speed, maybe because i was warmed but tried to swing the same to keep it fair. Didn't notice much different in the feel so great to have some accurate feedback from GC2.
+Graeme McDougall i did actually used the standard DG S300 which was same as my set. Maybe I was more confident or slightly more warmed up hitting the 916's. Can't explain the increase and certainly wasn't deliberate.
I'm going to stick with the 714's for now Anthony. Mainly because I'm hitting my irons well, I don't think I need to change. If it was a case of choosing between the two I would go with 716's.
so I'm just curious, I'm looking at getting some new clubs but I'm not quite sure what shaft to go with. I hit a 7 iron on average about 150-155 of carry, like you. The guy at the store said based on my swing speed I should be using R flexes but I see you've got an S. What's your take on this?
+David Souto Did you a have a custom fit session using a launch monitor? If you didn't I would recommend that as important to look at launch and spin or alternatively check out shaftfit.com to get an idea on which shaft you should be using.
I was hitting on a launch monitor and the guy just glanced at my average swing speed. Either way I'll take that into account. I appreciate your response. Now to the video, with all the testing being done, would you say there's a more than considerable improvement from the Ap2 714s to the 716s. I'm wanting to get one of these clubs, but the price difference is like 400 dollars. So what I'm asking is there really that much a difference between these clubs to pay that amount more? The current clubs I have are an orlimar set that is about as old as I am so either club would be a vast improvement.
I personally use 714's and I'm very happy with them so haven't upgraded, (I usually upgrade every other model). If price is a factor I would go for 714, as i don't think there is $400 worth of improvement in the 716's.

Fair point John it wasn't deliberate, if you take the change in clubhead speed into consideration they performed very similar.
Impressive stricking is that.Respect, J.C
Nice video Nick. Just got the Ap2 714 preowned last week 5-PW for $340
Thanks Peter, you can't go wrong with a set of 714 AP2's
First of all-great video! Second of all-man I am impressed by your skill!
Thanks Matt
Impressive ball striking !! Nicely done. Love my 716 AP2. If your looking for some new irons give these a try, you will be very happy with them.
Thanks Rick I would agree, I've always used Titleist irons and usually change them every other model
You smashed it harder with the 716. Clubhead speed.
Fair point Simon I tried to do the test fairly but I'm not a machine so difficult to do it perfectly
Great video - any plans to compare the 816 hybrids to the 915s?
+avelizz Thankyou, no plans yet, your the first person to ask, if more people want to see it I am happy to do it
What would you choose, ap2 716 for 500 euros or ap2 714 for 350? Both sets in very good condition.
You can't go wrong with either depends on shafts and lie angles. I still use 714's they are great clubs

+Nick Taylor Golf could be the amt shaft (if you used that one ) they get lighter from wedge to 3 iron. Could maybe explain increased club head speed.

Can you do a head to head on the 714 and 716 CB's? Thanks!
I would love to Robby but I don't have access to the clubs at the moment unfortunately
You said you play with the 714s, any plans on switching to the 716s? I am trying to decide between the 2 models myself.

@Rick Sheils needs to take notes on hitting greens like you, exceptional
Haha thanks mate
155 yards 7 iron? dc
Poor review. Totally different swings for each club.
