This jazzy song is on p.20 of Alfred's Adult Greatest Hits Level 1. It was written by Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, Mike Stoller and Jerry Leiber in 1962 and talks about the struggle to make it "On Broadway". This song was a hit for the Drifters in 1963 and since then has been recorded by many other artists including: Johnny Mathis, George Benson, Bobby Darin, Tom Jones, and Frank Sinatra.
I play the eighth notes with a long/short rhythm, and I like to use the pedal and make it less staccato. --Norma
This piano arrangement is by Tom Gerou.

Such a happy song. I can play it now, but not already in a faster way like you did, but that will take some time. At least I can already play it without faults...🙂 And..it stay in your ears all day

Good job!! That's great that you can play it at a slower tempo without mistakes and that you understand and are patient with the learning process and know that the faster tempo will come in time. Keep it up! --Norma

I would imagine that being a professional pianist that playing beginning level music would be a challenge. Is that true? Your beat was so on and the long/short rhythm was so steady. I am trying to learn the long/short and rhythm and it is challenging. Your right hand cross over was so graceful and gentle. Several more comments, I just noticed that your have 1096 subscribers, I can remember when you have 100. Good job in cyber space. Again, I appreciate your hard work to perform and publish your music. This angle of you video camera is great - focusing on your hands on the keys. Very nice for viewing.

Thank you!! So glad that you've been with us from the beginning of our UA-cam journey. Yes, I prefer this camera angle as well since I think it is more helpful for students. Our technical skills in recording have evolved over time.
Playing the beginning level music is easy in some regards since most of the songs take very little practice, but I find that sometimes I overthink things while recording such as exact fingering that may be a better choice for beginning students but that I might do differently after years of playing. Or sometimes I am tempted to add extra notes and fill in chords, but I am trying to give an accurate representation of the written music. My goal is to provide students with a very "musical" example even though the songs may be on the simpler side. They can still be played beautifully.
Thank you again for taking the time to listen and give a thoughtful, detailed comment. Very much appreciated, Norma

This song has taken me way too long to master. I'm not quite there yet, but getting close!
Thanks for your performance, really helps alongside the sheet music!
